The Heart and the Chip Our Bright Future with Robots [Audiobook]
Free Download Daniela Rus, Gregory Mone, Andrea Gallo (Narrator), "The Heart and the Chip: Our Bright Future with Robots"
English | ASIN: B0CQPP6DBN | 2024 | MP3@64 kbps | ~10:39:00 | 293 MB
Daniela Rus, a leading roboticist and computer scientist, explores how we can use a new generation of smart machines to help humankind.
There is a robotics revolution underway. A record 3.1 million robots are working in factories right now, doing everything from assembling computers to packing goods and monitoring air quality and performance. A far greater number of smart machines impact our lives in countless other ways-improving the precision of surgeons, cleaning our homes, extending our reach to distant worlds-and we're on the cusp of even more exciting opportunities.
In The Heart and the Chip, roboticist Daniela Rus and science writer Gregory Mone provide an overview of the interconnected fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, and reframe the way we think about intelligent machines while weighing the moral and ethical consequences of their role in society. Robots aren't going to steal our jobs: they're going to make us more capable, productive, and precise.

Multicore Systems On–Chip Practical SoftwareHardware Design
Free Download Multicore Systems On-Chip: Practical Software/Hardware Design by Abderazek Ben Abdallah
English | PDF (True) | 2013 | 291 Pages | ISBN : 9491216910 | 14.2 MB
System on chips designs have evolved from fairly simple unicore, single memory designs to complex heterogeneous multicore SoC architectures consisting of a large number of IP blocks on the same silicon. To meet high computational demands posed by latest consumer electronic devices, most current systems are based on such paradigm, which represents a real revolution in many aspects in computing. The attraction of multicore processing for power reduction is compelling. By splitting a set of tasks among multiple processor cores, the operating frequency necessary for each core can be reduced, allowing to reduce the voltage on each core. Because dynamic power is proportional to the frequency and to the square of the voltage, we get a big gain, even though we may have more cores running. As more and more cores are integrated into these designs to share the ever increasing processing load, the main challenges lie in efficient memory hierarchy, scalable system interconnect, new programming paradigms, and efficient integration methodology for connecting such heterogeneous cores into a single system capable of leveraging their individual flexibility. Current design methods tend toward mixed HW/SW co-designs targeting multicore systems on-chip for specific applications. To decide on the lowest cost mix of cores, designers must iteratively map the device's functionality to a particular HW/SW partition and target architectures. In addition, to connect the heterogeneous cores, the architecture requires high performance complex communication architectures and efficient communication protocols, such as hierarchical bus, point-to-point connection, or Network-on-Chip. Software development also becomes far more complex due to the difficulties in breaking a single processing task into multiple parts that can be processed separately and then reassembled later. This reflects the fact that certain processor jobs cannot be easily parallelized to run concurrently on multiple processing cores and that load balancing between processing cores - especially heterogeneous cores - is very difficult.

Reuse Methodology Manual for System–on–a–Chip Designs
Free Download Reuse Methodology Manual for System-on-a-Chip Designs by Michael Keating , Pierre Bricaud
English | PDF | 2002 | 305 Pages | ISBN : 0387740988 | 10.3 MB
"Reuse Methodology Manual for System-on-a-Chip Designs, Third Edition" outlines a set of best practices for creating reusable designs for use in an SoC design methodology. These practices are based on the authors' experience in developing reusable designs, as well as the experience of design teams in many companies around the world. Silicon and tool technologies move so quickly that many of the details of design-for-reuse will undoubtedly continue to evolve over time. But the fundamental aspects of the methodology described in this book have become widely adopted and are likely to form the foundation of chip design for some time to come.

High – Level Synthesis Introduction to Chip and System Design
Free Download High - Level Synthesis: Introduction to Chip and System Design by Daniel D. Gajski , Nikil D. Dutt , Allen C-H Wu , Steve Y-L Lin
English | PDF | 1992 | 368 Pages | ISBN : 0792391942 | 28.8 MB
Research on high-level synthesis started over twenty years ago, but lower-level tools were not available to seriously support the insertion of high-level synthesis into the mainstream design methodology. Since then, substantial progress has been made in formulating and understanding the basic concepts in high-level synthesis. Although many open problems remain, high-level synthesis has matured.
