Bilingual Creativity and Arab Contact Literature Towards a World Englishes and Translation Studies Framework
Free Download Dina Hassan, "Bilingual Creativity and Arab Contact Literature: Towards a World Englishes and Translation Studies Framework"
English | ISBN: 3030975193 | 2022 | 229 pages | PDF | 2 MB
This book adopts an integrated approach to the study of contact literature through collaboration between theories of World Englishes and translation studies. The author proposes an interactive framework that integrates linguistic and cultural perspectives, through the analysis of selected Anglo-Arab and Arab-American contact literary texts: Samia Serageldine's The Cairo House (2000), Leila Ahmed's A Border Passage (1999), Leila Aboulela's The Translator (1999), Ahdaf Soueif's The Map of Love (2000), and Abdelkebir Khatibi's Love in Two Languages (1990). The author then discusses the pedagogical implications of bilingual creativity via a language in literature approach. This book will be of interest to students and scholars of translation studies, literature and cultural studies.

Overcome Any Obstacle to Creativity
Free Download Tony McCaffrey, "Overcome Any Obstacle to Creativity"
English | 2018 | pages: 196 | ISBN: 1475834640, 1475834632 | PDF | 3,0 mb
The overall purpose of the book is to present (1) the best science on creativity and innovation in the most practical way possible and (2) a new way of teaching called the Nonsense Method, which relies on humans' incredible ability to create sense out of apparent nonsense and have fun while doing it. The central theory of the book, the Obscure Features Hypothesis for Innovation (OFH), is the first approach to innovation that yields effective counter techniques to all known cognitive obstacles to innovation. The OFH states that any creative solution is built upon at least one commonly overlooked (i.e., obscure) or new feature of the problem. Each chapter ends with puzzles that relate to the cognitive obstacle and counter technique discussed in the chapter. Two hints and a solution for each puzzle are given at the book's end. The Nonsense Method of Teaching focuses upon universal puzzles that can be adapted to any subject. These universal puzzles situate vocabulary words and ideas from any subject matter in situations that need to be connected and thus made sense of.

Item Response Theory for Creativity Measurement
Free Download Item Response Theory for Creativity Measurement
English | 2024 | ISBN: 1009475819 | 102 Pages | PDF (True) | 6 MB
Item-response theory (IRT) represents a key advance in measurement theory. Yet, it is largely absent from curricula, textbooks and popular statistical software, and often introduced through a subset of models. This Element, intended for creativity and innovation researchers, researchers-in-training, and anyone interested in how individual creativity might be measured, aims to provide 1) an overview of classical test theory (CTT) and its shortcomings in creativity measurement situations (e.g., fluency scores, consensual assessment technique, etc.); 2) an introduction to IRT and its core concepts, using a broad view of IRT that notably sees CTT models as particular cases of IRT; 3) a practical strategic approach to IRT modeling; 4) example applications of this strategy from creativity research and the associated advantages; and 5) ideas for future work that could advance how IRT could better benefit creativity research, as well as connections with other popular frameworks.

Creativity and Psychotic States in Exceptional People The work of Murray Jackson
Free Download Creativity and Psychotic States in Exceptional People: The work of Murray Jackson By Murray Jackson, Jeanne Magagna (editor)
2015 | 178 Pages | ISBN: 0415703859 | EPUB | 3 MB
Creativity and Psychotic States in Exceptional People tells the story of the lives of four exceptionally gifted individuals: Vincent van Gogh, Vaslav Nijinsky, José Saramago and John Nash. Previously unpublished chapters by Murray Jackson are set in a contextual framework by Jeanne Magagna, revealing the wellspring of creativity in the subjects' emotional experiences and delving into the nature of psychotic states which influence and impede the creative process. Jackson and Magagna aim to illustrate how psychoanalytic thinking can be relevant to people suffering from psychotic states of mind and provide understanding of the personalities of four exceptionally talented creative individuals. Present in the text are themes of loving and losing, mourning and manic states, creating as a process of repairing a sense of internal damage and the use of creativity to understand or run away from oneself. The book concludes with a glossary of useful psychoanalytic concepts. Creativity and Psychotic States in Exceptional People will be fascinating reading for psychiatrists, psychotherapists and psychoanalysts, other psychoanalytically informed professionals, students and anyone interested in the relationship between creativity and psychosis.

Connecting Creativity and Motivation Research with End Users
Free Download Connecting Creativity and Motivation Research with End Users: Lab to Learner
English | 2024 | ISBN: 1009199188 | 1004 Pages | PDF | 6 MB
It is often difficult to translate the findings of creativity and motivation researchers into language or activities that benefit end users. This is the problem driving the need for translational research, and this book fills the gap. It translates creativity and motivation research into language that teachers and their students, corporate trainers and their employees, and students' families or caregivers can immediately understand. Instructional modules and lesson plans provide readers with opportunities to network, give feedback, suggest new research needs, and access free assessments. Additional resources and opportunities for readers are available through the Freddie Reisman Center for Translational Research in Creativity and Motivation.

Vasyl Stus Life in Creativity
Free Download Dmytro Stus, Tetiana Shcherbachenko, Ludmila Bachurina, "Vasyl Stus: Life in Creativity"
English | 2022 | ISBN: 3838216318 | EPUB | pages: 388 | 2.1 mb
Nobody knows how to explain the mystery of fame. Many once well-known people who spent much of their lives at the core of historic events have fallen into oblivion since. The brilliant East Ukrainian poet and Soviet-era dissident Vasyl Stus (1938-85) became renowned only after his reburial in late Soviet Ukraine in 1989. What are the reasons for the widespread admiration for him in post-Soviet Ukrainian society? The exceptional beauty of his poetry? His stunning courage and selflessness as a Soviet dissident? The irreconcilability of his position as a human being? Or/and Vasyl Stus' ability to feel the pain of others as his own?
