Introduction To The Lattice Boltzmann Method, An
Free Download Introduction To The Lattice Boltzmann Method, An: A Numerical Method For Complex Boundary And Moving Boundary Flows by Takaji Inamuro, Masato Yoshino, Kosuke Suzuki
English | November 23, 2021 | ISBN: 9811240515 | 166 pages | MOBI | 15 Mb
The book introduces the fundamentals and applications of the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) for incompressible viscous flows. It is written clearly and easy to understand for graduate students and researchers. The book is organized as follows. In Chapter 1, the SRT- and MRT-LBM schemes are derived from the discrete Boltzmann equation for lattice gases and the relation between the LBM and the Navier-Stokes equation is explained by using the asymptotic expansion (not the Chapman-Enskog expansion). Chapter 2 presents the lattice kinetic scheme (LKS) which is an extension method of the LBM and can save memory because of needlessness for storing the velocity distribution functions. In addition, an improved LKS which can stably simulate high Reynolds number flows is presented. In Chapter 3, the LBM combined with the immersed boundary method (IB-LBM) is presented. The IB-LBM is well suitable for moving boundary flows. In Chapter 4, the two-phase LBM is explained from the point of view of the difficulty in computing two-phase flows with large density ratio. Then, a two-phase LBM for large density ratios is presented. In Appendix, sample codes (available for download) are given for users.

Introduction to Quantum Fields on a Lattice
Free Download Introduction to Quantum Fields on a Lattice
English | 2023 | ISBN: 1009402749 | 286 Pages | PDF (True) | 2 MB
This book provides a concise introduction to quantum fields on a lattice: a precise and non-perturbative definition of quantum field theory obtained by replacing continuous space-time by a discrete set of points on a lattice. The path integral on the lattice is explained in concrete examples using weak and strong coupling expansions. Fundamental concepts such as 'triviality' of Higgs fields and confinement of quarks and gluons into hadrons are described and illustrated with the results of numerical simulations. The book also provides an introduction to chiral symmetry and chiral gauge theory, as well as quantized non-Abelian gauge fields, scaling and universality. Based on the lecture notes of a course given by the author, this book contains many explanatory examples and exercises, and is suitable as a textbook for advanced undergraduate and graduate courses. Originally published in 2002, this title has been reissued as an Open Access publication on Cambridge Core.

English | 2023 | ISBN: 9819912636 | 224 Pages | PDF (True) | 9 MB
This book details the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) applied to the built environment problems. It provides the fundamental theoretical knowledge and specific implementation methods of LBM from the engineering perspective of the built environment. It covers comprehensive issues of built environment with three detailed cases, solving practical problems. It can be used as a reference book for teachers, students, and engineering technicians to study LBM and conduct architecture and urban wind environments simulations, in the fields of architecture, building technology science, urban planning, HVAC, built environment engineering, and civil engineering.

The Congruences of a Finite Lattice A Proof-by-Picture Approach, Third Edition
Free Download The Congruences of a Finite Lattice: A "Proof-by-Picture" Approach, Third Edition by George Grätzer
English | PDF | 2023 | 440 Pages | ISBN : 3031290623 | 5.8 MB
The congruences of a lattice form the congruence lattice. Over the last several decades, the study of congruence lattices has established itself as a large and important field with a great number of interesting and deep results, as well as many open problems. Written by one of the leading experts in lattice theory, this text provides a self-contained introduction to congruences of finite lattices and presents the major results of the last 90 years. It features the author's signature "Proof-by-Picture" method, which is used to convey the ideas behind formal proofs in a visual, more intuitive manner.

The Crystal Lattice Phonons, Solitons, Dislocations, Superlattices, Second Edition
The Crystal Lattice: Phonons, Solitons, Dislocations, Superlattices, Second Edition By Arnold M. Kosevich(auth.)
2006 | 343 Pages | ISBN: 3527405089 | PDF | 4 MB
The aim of this successful book is to describe and analyse peculiarities of classical and quantum dynamics of a crystal as a spatially periodic structure. In the second revised and updated edition, the author focuses on low-dimensional models of crystals and on superlattices. Both traditional questions like the spectrum of vibrations, the idea of phonon gas, dislocations etc. and new aspects like the theory of quantum crystals, solitons in 1D crystals, dislocation theory of melting of 2D crystals etc. are discussed. The author gives an explanation of a set of phenomena which entered into solid state physics during the last decades. It is shown that the crystal properties are sensitive to the dimension of the crystal and its defect structure, and depend slightly on whether the periodic structure consists of atoms, or electrical dipoles, or magnetic moments (spins). Considerable attention is devoted to the dislocation mechanisms as a basis of the theory of plasticity and numerous technological applications of crystalline materials.Content: Chapter 1 Mechanics of a One?Dimensional Crystal (pages 15-57): Chapter 2 General Analysis of Vibrations of Monatomic Lattices (pages 59-88): Chapter 3 Vibrations of Polyatomic Lattices (pages 89-123): Chapter 4 Frequency Spectrum and Its Connection with the Green Function (pages 125-151): Chapter 5 Acoustics of Elastic Superlattices: Phonon Crystals (pages 153-162): Chapter 6 Quantization of Crystal Vibrations (pages 163-181): Chapter 7 Interaction of Excitations in a Crystal (pages 183-201): Chapter 8 Quantum Crystals (pages 203-212): Chapter 9 Point Defects (pages 213-232): Chapter 10 Linear Crystal Defects (pages 233-246): Chapter 11 Localization of Vibrations (pages 247-277): Chapter 12 Localization of Vibrations Near Extended Defects (pages 279-296): Chapter 13 Elastic Field of Dislocations in a Crystal (pages 297-319): Chapter 14 Dislocation Dynamics (pages 321-340):
