Fundamentals of Organizational Behavior
Free Download Fundamentals of Organizational Behavior By Andrew J. DuBrin
2019 | 452 Pages | ISBN: 1942041764 | PDF | 33 MB
Welcome to the sixth and updated edition of Fundamentals of Organizational Behavior. This book is designed for courses in organizational behavior and management that focuson the application of organizational behavior knowledge to achieve enhanced productivity and satisfaction in the workplace. Organizational behavior is about human behavioron the job. Knowledge of organizational behavior is, therefore, an important source fromwhich any manager or corporate professional may draw. The same information that candrive a manager to excel can also assist individual organizational contributors in becoming more adaptive and effective. Nonmanagerial professionals, technology workers, salesrepresentatives, and service providers benefit from the insight and analysis that organizational behavior provides, as do managers and prospective managers. All are welcomeunder the umbrella of organizational behavior.Organizational behavior, because of its key contributions in driving workforce productivity, is a standard part of the curriculum in schools and colleges of business, management, and public administration. The case for the relevance of organizational behaviorwas stated recently by Bob Funk, the chairman, CEO, and founder of Express Employment Professionals, one of the nation's largest job agencies. Funk observes that gettingahead in today's world starts with skills. Yet hard skills and experience are only part ofthe equation, and not the important half. "So many people do not realize how importantsoft skills (essentially interpersonal skills) are to unlocking job opportunity," he says.*As a result of interest in the field, research and writing about the field proliferates. Toprovide just an overview of this vast amount of information, many introductory textbooksare quite lengthy, easily filling 800 pages or more. To soften the impact of such encyclopedic approaches to the study of organizational behavior, many of these books alsolavishly layer figures and photographs onto their extended narratives. Many of the new, briefer textbooks are simply condensed versions of the longer books.Fundamentals of Organizational Behavior takes a briefer, more focused, and more applied approach to learning about the field. Instead of trying to dazzle with a baffling arrayof concepts, research findings, theories, and news clippings, this book concentrates ononly the most useful ideas. It blends clear and thoughtful exposition of traditional topics, such as motivation, with topics of more recent origin, such as creativity, virtual teams, knowledge management, diversity, and cultural intelligence.Although each chapter packs a lot of information, chapters consistently emphasize theessential and the practical. A major strategy was to de-emphasize elaborate theories andfindings that are no longer the subject of active research, practice, or training programs. However, we did not permit our concern for brevity to strip the text down to a sterileoutline devoid of human interest, examples, and useful applications. Most of the brieftextbooks on organizational behavior sacrifice cases, self-quizzes, discussion questions, and in-action inserts. Fundamentals of Organizational Behavior, however, injects all ofthese elements into its pages and still stays concise. The size and scope of this book are well suited to college courses that supplement acore textbook with journal articles, major projects, specialty textbooks, online information, or other instructional media. In addition, the comprehensiveness of Fundamentals of Organizational Behavior, combined with its brevity, makes it suitable for workplace organizational training programs about human behavior. The student who masters this textbook will not only acquire an overview of and appreciation for organizational behaviorresearch, literature, theory, and opinion, but will also develop a feel for managing and influencing others through the application of systematic knowledge about human behavior.

The No People Tribal Tales of Organizational Cliff Dwellers
Free Download Professor of Management Bruce J Avolio, "The No People: Tribal Tales of Organizational Cliff Dwellers "
English | ISBN: 1617355704 | 2011 | 102 pages | PDF | 1388 KB
This book focuses on capturing one of the most important elements in successful leadership- giving followers a voice and motivating them to use that voice to help the leader be successful. The book is based on taking real stories of effective versus ineffective leaders from around the world, and sharing the lessons learned that facilitate or detract from followers helping leaders to be at their very best. Every leader comes to a cliff, so the author asks the fundamental question, which ones have followers that grab them to pull them back from the abyss, and which ones have followers that give them a nudge towards the abyss? This book threads many of the core concepts associated with the science and practice of leadership, such as authenticity, ownership and innovation, into the stories that help explain how leaders can create the conditions for followers to take ownership in ways that facilitate effective innovation and performance. The stories were purposely chosen for inclusion that would be the ones that readers would most likely identify with and apply to their own development. Moreover, the stories are framed by concepts and constructs in the field of leadership that have been well studied. This is the type of book, that one would expect managers to buy 20 copies for all of their followers to read and then perhaps discuss why the leader wants more "No People" in his or her unit. The book was written to be highly accessible to a very wide range of audiences from teachers to trainers to top management teams. Ideally, keeping the length short, easy to read, and reasonably priced for high volume sales, will offer this book its best chance of success in the global market.

Quality of Higher Education Organizational and Educational Perspectives
Free Download Yihuan Zou, "Quality of Higher Education: Organizational and Educational Perspectives "
English | ISBN: 8792982557 | 2013 | 194 pages | PDF | 2 MB
Quality in higher education was not invented in recent decades - universities have always possessed mechanisms for assuring the quality of their work. The rising concern over quality is closely related to the changes in higher education and its social context. Among others, the most conspicuous changes are the massive expansion, diversification and increased cost in higher education, and new mechanisms of accountability initiated by the state. With these changes the traditional internally enacted academic quality-keeping has been given an important external dimension - quality assurance, which requires higher education institutions to continuously demonstrate and improve performance, and which also provides new systems of rewards and sanctions. However, the complex impacts of quality assurance policies have shown a need to further understand the quality issue in higher education. This book is about constructing a more inclusive understanding of quality in higher education through combining the macro, meso and micro levels, i.e. from the perspectives of national policy, higher education institutions as organizations in society, individual teaching staff and students. It covers both theoretical constructions for understanding quality and empirical investigation in the Chinese context. The questions addressed are: How is quality of higher education perceived by the institution, teaching staff and students, respectively? What are the main concerns for the institution, teaching staff and students in their own pursuit of quality? It has been concluded that quality of higher education is not only about educational quality, but also about expanding life chances for the students, prosperity in the administrative system for the teaching staff, and organizational prosperity for the institution. With regard to quality assurance and accountability in higher education special attention should be given to the values pursued and be careful to balance between immediate, single-value efficiency and sustainable development and a wider-range of values that higher education serves.
