BT Fast Tank The Red Army's Cavalry Tank 1931–45
Free Download Steven J. Zaloga, Henry Morshead, "BT Fast Tank: The Red Army's Cavalry Tank 1931-45"
English | 2016 | pages: 52 | ISBN: 1472810651 | PDF | 30,5 mb
When the Red Army needed to mechanize its cavalry branch in the 1930s, the BT fast tank was its solution. Channeling the American Christie high-speed tank, the Red Army began a program to adapt the design to its own needs. Early versions were mechanically unreliable and poorly armed, but by the mid-1930s, the BT-5 emerged, armed with an excellent dual-purpose 45mm gun. It saw its combat debut in the Spanish Civil War in 1937 and was later used in the border battles with the Japanese Kwantung Army in the late 1930s. The final production series, the BT-7, was the most refined version of the family.

The Biggest Tank Battles of World War II The History of the Most Decisive Tank Encounters between Allies and Axis [Audiobook]

English | ISBN: 9798868699009 | 2023 | 5 hours and 11 minutes | M4B@128 kbps | 287 MB
Author: Charles River Editors
Narrator: Bill Caufield

The tank was first developed by the British and French during World War I as a means to break the deadlock on the Western Front. More so than any previous war, the balance of power lay with the defense, as machine guns, trenches, bunkers, barbed wire, and rapid-firing rifles all made frontal assaults on established positions prohibitively costly. In the closing months of the war, the tank partially evened up that balance, even as the war's commanders initially proved unsure of how to use them. While it cannot be said that the tank won the war, it contributed to its end and if the fighting had continued another year, the mass production that had started in Allied countries may have proved decisive. World War II was the culmination of a quarter century of tank development, and it would also be the first major test of tanks in mobile warfare during which they had to face other tanks.

Desert Armour Tank Warfare in North Africa Beda Fomm to Operation Crusader, 1940–41 [Audiobook]

English | ASIN: B0CSLBQ9WS | 2024 | MP3@64 kbps | ~13:15:00 | 375 MB
Robert Forczyk covers the development of armored warfare in North Africa from the earliest Anglo-Italian engagements in 1940 to the British victory over the German Afrikakorps in Operation Crusader in 1941.
The war in the North African desert was pure mechanized warfare, and in many respects the most technologically advanced theatre of World War II. It was also the only theatre where for three years British and Commonwealth, and later United States, troops were in constant contact with Axis forces.
World War II bestselling author Robert Forczyk explores the first half of the history of the campaign, from the initial Italian offensive and the arrival of Rommel's Panzergruppe Afrika to the British Operation Crusader offensive that led to the relief of Tobruk. He examines the armored forces, equipment, doctrine, training, logistics and operations employed by both Allied and Axis forces throughout the period, focusing especially on the brigade and regimental level of operations.

Failure to exploit the potential of an original idea is a recurring phenomenon in our national history. Few failures, however, can have been so costly in human life as that of our military commanders early in 1916 to appreciate that the tank was a war winning weapon. The slaughter of the Somme, Passchendaele and Ypres salient had to be endured before accepted 'conventional' methods were abandoned and the tank given a chance.

M24 Chaffee Light Tank 1943–85 (New Vanguard)
Free Download M24 Chaffee Light Tank 1943-85 (New Vanguard) by Steven J. Zaloga, Jim Laurier
English | June 20, 2003 | ISBN: 9781841765402 | 48 pages | MOBI | 33 Mb
The history of US light tanks during World War II is a chequered one. The Light Battalions of US Armored Divisions were initially filled with M3A1 and M5 Stuart tanks, however, on the battlefields of North Africa it was realised that these were disastrously under armoured and gunned, and a replacement, or the abandonment of light tank doctrine, was desperately needed. It wasn't until the last few months of WWII that the M24 Chaffee came into service and it was extensively used in combat from the Battle of the Bulge to the final campaigns in Germany. This book will trace the history of this design, its combat record in World War II, its many variants, and its extensive combat record post 1945.

English | ASIN: B0CLMBN1HD | 2023 | 13 hours and 33 minutes | M4B@64 kbps | 392 MB
Author: Peter Hart
Narrator: Julian Elfer

This is the story of a tank regiment: the 2nd Fife and Forfar Yeomanry in the Second World War. Raw and visceral personal recollections from the men themselves recall some of the most dramatic and horrific scenes imaginable-the sheer nerve-wracking tension of serving in highly inflammable Sherman tanks, the sudden impact of German shells, the desperate scramble to bail out, and the awful fate of those who couldn't. Even if they made it out of the tank, they were still vulnerable to being brutally cut down by German infantry. Yet amidst these horrors, the humanity of these men shines through. And as we follow in their tracks, through letters, diaries, and eye-witness accounts, they will change how we think about tank warfare forever.
