Wired and Dangerous How Your Customers Have Changed and What to Do About It (Repost)
Chip R. Bell, John R. Patterson, "Wired and Dangerous: How Your Customers Have Changed and What to Do About It"
English | 2011 | ISBN: 1605099759 | EPUB | pages: 324 | 2.6 mb
Customers today are picky, fickle, vocal, and "all about me" vain. With the reach and influence of the Internet, they are also powerful. If they receive poor or impersonal service, they talk back-with a single snarky video or damning review gone viral, they can bring down a company. To succeed in this new world, it is vital that customers are treated not as cash machines but as collaborators. Chip Bell and John Patterson analyze this service revolution and provide a tested formula for transforming today's edgy customers into eager partners. Using real-world examples, they detail compelling methods and pragmatic tools for bringing harmony and balance to a relationship that was out of whack even before the Internet.

Stem Cells Biology and Therapeutics
Stem Cells: Biology and Therapeutics
English | 2021 | ISBN: 981161637X | 277 Pages | PDF EPUB | 29 MB
Stem cells hold great promise for cell therapy, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and pharmaceutical and biotechnological applications. This book highlights the potency of stem cells, their property of self-renewal and their ability to differentiate into different cell lineages. It further describes the different markers to identify stem cells, sources, methods of isolation, culture including 2D, 3D and beyond and their cryopreservation. This is among the first books to discuss glycosylation and sialylation in stem cells. Chapters describe application of stem cells in regenerative medicine and therapy, and highlight their application in cancer therapy and spinal cord injury. The book talks about the important patents on stem cells. The book also highlights the plant stem cells, discussing their pluoripotent nature, role in organ regeneration after injury, specific stem cell niches, that signals to block differentiation studied in plants shoot, root, and vascular meristems, differentiation of plant stem cell, transcriptional regulation and epigenetic modification of plant stem cells.

Simulation Method of Multipactor and Its Application in Satellite Microwave Components
English | 2021 | ISBN: 1032038977 | 237 pages | pdf | 10.12 MB
This book combines the experience and achievements in engineering practice of the China Academy of Space Technology, Xi'an, with a focus on the field of high-power multipactor over recent decades. It introduces the main concepts, theories, methods and latest technologies of multipactor simulation, at both the theoretical level and as a process of engineering, while providing a comprehensive introduction to the outstanding progress made in the research technology of multipactor numerical simulation in China. At the same time, a three-dimensional numerical simulation method of multipactor for typical high-power microwave components of spacecraft is introduced.
This book is an essential volume for engineers in the field of high-power microwave technology. It can also be used as a reference for researchers in related fields, or as a teaching reference book for graduate students majoring in Astronautics at colleges and universities.

Romance Revived Postmodern Romances and the Tradition
Romance Revived: Postmodern Romances and the Tradition By Heidi Hansson
1998 | 234 Pages | ISBN: 9171914501 | PDF | 11 MB
This is the first study to identify and analyse postmodern romances as a new development of the romance and to relate this late twentieth-century subgenre to its tradition. Based on a selection of works published between 1969 and 1994, by A. S. Byatt, Lindsay Clarice, Michael Dorris and Louise Erdrich, John Fowles, Iris Murdoch, Susan Sontag and Jeanette Winterson, it seeks to demonstrate how this new orientation of the romance produces meaning in dialogue with generic conventions and traditional works and, in doing so, both criticises and rehabilitates the genre.A 'postmodern romance' is a double-natured or hybrid text influenced both by inherited romance strategies and experimental postmodern techniques, such as those specified in Linda Hutcheon's study of the "poetics* of postmodernism: ambiguity, parody, paradox, contradiction and self-reflexivity. Hutcheon's theories, as well as theories of the romance, of intertextuality, of feminism, of New Historicism and of popular culture provide the theoretical framework for my argument.Intertextuality is an important manifestation of literary postmodernism, and I isolate three kinds of intertextual relationships which 1 see as characteristic of postmodern romances. Taking as its starting point Julia Kristeva's view that intertextuality includes social, political and cultural, as well as literary, contexts, 1 argue that feminist ideologies appear as cultural intertexts in postmodern romances, thereby challenging the association between the romance genre and a patriarchal world-view. The connections between post modern and chivalric, historical and women's popular romances are instances of generic intertextuality, where particularly postmodern literary strategies are fused with more con ventional attributes of the romance. The links between the postmodern works and the various subgenres of romance affect both the former and the latter, making the postmod ern texts accessible to a larger audience, but also revealing forgotten or overlooked com plexities in earlier examples of the romance. The return to individual texts is an instance of specific intertextuality, where postmodern romances reinterpret and rewrite particular, earlier romances. Since the relationship between the texts involved is dialogic and, hence, unpredictable, the modern works are also reinterpreted by their intertexts.Postmodern romances transcend the boundaries between real and unreal, male and female, "high" and "low" literature, and in the process they show that this might be equally characteristic of traditional romances. As a result of the fusion of postmodern and romantic literary modes, the inherent duality of the romance genre as such is brought to the fore at the same time as the genre is revived.

Quantum Optics Taming the Quantum (Graduate Texts in Physics)
English | 2021 | ISBN: 3030761827 | 402 pages | pdf, epub | 37.16 MB
This book is a thoroughly modern and highly pedagogical graduate-level introduction to quantum optics, a subject which has witnessed stunning developments in recent years and has come to occupy a central role in the 'second quantum revolution'. The reader is invited to explore the fundamental role that quantum optics plays in the control and manipulation of quantum systems, leading to ultracold atoms, circuit QED,quantum information science, quantum optomechanics, and quantum metrology. The building blocks of the subject are presented in a sequential fashion, starting from the simplest physical situations before moving to increasingly complicated ones. This pedagogically appealing approach leads to quantum entanglement and measurement theory being introduced early on and before more specialized topics such as cavity QED or laser cooling. The final chapter illustrates the power of scientific cross-fertilization by surveying cutting-edge applications of quantum optics and optomechanics in gravitational wave detection, tests of fundamental physics, searches for dark matter, geophysical monitoring, and ultraprecise clocks. Complete with worked examples and exercises, this book provides the reader with enough background knowledge and understanding to follow the current journal literature and begin producing their own original research.
