Biomedical Data Mining for Information Retrieval Methodologies, Techniques, and Applications
Subhendu Kumar Pani, "Biomedical Data Mining for Information Retrieval: Methodologies, Techniques, and Applications "
English | ISBN: 111971124X | 2021 | 448 pages | PDF | 9 MB
This book comprehensively covers the topic of mining biomedical text, images and visual features towards information retrieval. Biomedical and Health Informatics is an emerging field of research at the intersection of information science, computer science, and health care and brings tremendous opportunities and challenges due to easily available and abundant biomedical data for further analysis. The aim of healthcare informatics is to ensure the high-quality, efficient healthcare, better treatment and quality of life by analyzing biomedical and healthcare data including patient's data, electronic health records (EHRs) and lifestyle. Previously it was a common requirement to have a domain expert to develop a model for biomedical or healthcare; however, recent advancements in representation learning algorithms allows us to automatically to develop the model. Biomedical Image Mining, a novel research area, due to its large amount of biomedical images increasingly generates and stores digitally. These images are mainly in the form of computed tomography (CT), X-ray, nuclear medicine imaging (PET, SPECT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound. Patients' biomedical images can be digitized using data mining techniques and may help in answering several important and critical questions related to health care. Image mining in medicine can help to uncover new relationships between data and reveal new useful information that can be helpful for doctors in treating their patients.

Biofuel Cells Materials and Challenges
Inamuddin, "Biofuel Cells: Materials and Challenges"
English | ISBN: 1119724694 | 2023 | 528 pages | PDF | 22 MB
Rapid industrialization and urbanization associated with the environment changes calls for reduced pollution and thereby least use of fossil fuels. Biofuel cells are bioenergy resources and biocompatible alternatives to conventional fuel cells. Biofuel cells are one of the new sustainable renewable energy sources that are based on the direct conversion of chemical matters to electricity with the aid of microorganisms or enzymes as biocatalysts. The gradual depletion of fossil fuels, increasing energy needs, and the pressing problem of environmental pollution have stimulated a wide range of research and development efforts for renewable and environmentally friendly energy. Energy generation from biomass resources by employing biofuel cells is crucial for sustainable development. Biofuel cells have attracted considerable attention as micro- or even nano-power sources for implantable biomedical devices, such as cardiac pacemakers, implantable self-powered sensors, and biosensors for monitoring physiological parameters.

Biodiesel Technology and Applications Technology and Applications
Inamuddin, "Biodiesel Technology and Applications: Technology and Applications"
English | ISBN: 1119724643 | 2021 | 508 pages | PDF | 11 MB
Energy technologies have attracted great attention due to the fast development of sustainable energy. Biodiesel technologies have been identified as the sustainable route through which overdependence on fossil fuels can be reduced. Biodiesel has played a key role in handling the growing challenge of a global climate change policy. Biodiesel is defined as the monoalkyl esters of vegetable oils or animal fats. Biodiesel is a cost-effective, renewable, and sustainable fuel that can be made from vegetable oils and animal fats. Compared to petroleum-based diesel, biodiesel would offer a non-toxicity, biodegradability, improved air quality and positive impact on the environment, energy security, safe-to-handle, store and transport and so on. Biodiesels have been used as a replacement of petroleum diesel in transport vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, locomotives, heat oils, hydrogen production, electricity generators, agriculture, mining, construction, and forestry equipment.

Big Data and Cloud Computing for Development Lessons from Key Industries and Economies in the Global South
Big Data and Cloud Computing for Development: Lessons from Key Industries and Economies in the Global South By Nir Kshetri, Torbjörn Fredriksson, Diana Carolina Rojas Torres
2017 | 240 Pages | ISBN: 1138689041 | PDF | 5 MB
This book provides a framework for evaluating big data and cloud computing based on how they evolve to fit users' needs in developing countries in key areas, such as agriculture and education. The authors discuss how this framework can be utilized by businesses, governments, and consumers to accelerate economic growth and overcome information and communication barriers. By examining the ways in which cloud computing can drive social, economic, and environmental transformation, readers gain a nuanced understanding of the opportunities and challenges these technologies offer. The authors also provide an authoritative and up-to-date account of big data's diffusion into a wide range of developing economies, such as Brazil and China, illustrating key concepts through in-depth case studies. Special attention is paid to economic development in the context of the new Sustainable Development Goals formulated by the United Nations, introducing readers to the most modern standard of economic evaluation. Students of information management, entrepreneurship, and development, as well as policy makers, researchers, and practitioners, will find Big Data and Cloud Computing for Development an interesting read and a useful reference source.

Beyond Material Ignore the Face Value of Your Pieces and Discover the Importance of Time, Space and Psychology in Chess
Davorin Kuljasevic, "Beyond Material: Ignore the Face Value of Your Pieces and Discover the Importance of Time, Space and Psychology in Chess"
English | ISBN: 9056918605 | 2019 | 256 pages | PDF | 18 MB
Giving up material is one of the most difficult decisions a chess player has to take. But the reality is that winning a game very often requires you to make that choice. The nagging question is always: what about my compensation? The old school used to relate compensation to 'correctness'. A sacrifice was correct if the material was swiftly returned, if possible with interest. Generations of chess players spent lots of time counting, quantifying the static value of their pieces almost by reflex.
