Asymptotic Geometric Analysis, Part II
English | 2021 | ISBN: 1470463601 , 978-1470463601 | 686 pages | True PDF | 5.93 MB
This book is a continuation of Asymptotic Geometric Analysis, Part I, which was published as volume 202 in this series. Asymptotic geometric analysis studies properties of geometric objects, such as normed spaces, convex bodies, or convex functions, when the dimensions of these objects increase to infinity. The asymptotic approach reveals many very novel phenomena which influence other fields in mathematics, especially where a large data set is of main concern, or a number of parameters which becomes uncontrollably large. One of the important features of this new theory is in developing tools which allow studying high parametric families. Among the topics covered in the book are measure concentration, isoperimetric constants of log-concave measures, thin-shell estimates, stochastic localization, the geometry of Gaussian measures, volume inequalities for convex bodies, local theory of Banach spaces, type and cotype, the Banach-Mazur compactum, symmetrizations, restricted invertibility, and functional versions of geometric notions and inequalities.

Assembly-Line Balancing under Demand Uncertainty
English | 2022 | ISBN: 3658362812 | 190 pages | True PDF EPUB | 6.35 MB
Assembly lines are productive systems, which are very efficient for homogeneous products. In the automotive industry, an assembly line is used in the production of several vehicle variants, including numerous configurations, options, and add-ins. As a result, assembly lines must be at the same time specialized to provide high efficiency, but also flexible to allow the mass customization of the vehicles. In this book, the planning of assembly lines for uncertain demand is tackled and optimization algorithms are offered for the balancing of such lines. Building an assembly line is a commitment of several months or even years, it is understandable that the demand will fluctuate during the lifetime of an assembly line. New products are developed, others are removed from the market, and the decision of the final customer plays a role on the immediate demand. Therefore, the variation and uncertainty of the demand must be accounted for in an assembly line. In this book, methods dealing with random demand or random production sequence are presented, so that the practitioners can plan more robust and efficient production systems.

Antenna Optimization and Design Based on Binary Coding (Modern Antenna)
English | 2022 | ISBN: 9811679649 | 163 pages | True PDF EPUB | 48.12 MB
This book investigates in detail the antenna optimization method with binary coding and their applications to antenna design. It introduces the binary coding principle and optimization method, the method of binary coding corresponding to geometry structure. In further, the designsby binary coding optimization methodof following items are introduced, including multi-frequency antenna based on binary coding, low profile RFID tag antenna on metal, wideband directional antenna with low profile, mmWave antenna and UWB antenna. Additionally, improved hexagon unit to antenna optimization by binary coding method is given, and a new method of antenna design based on optimization of linear motion trajectory is presented in the end. This book proposes an automatic optimization method of meshed antenna based on binary coding, reduce the artificial a priori influence and find the best antenna. The book is intended for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in antenna technology, researchers investigating high performance antenna, and antenna design engineers working on new antenna and the applications.

An Introduction to Infinite Products (Springer Undergraduate Mathematics Series)
English | 2022 | ISBN: 3030906450 | 258 pages | True PDF EPUB | 14.21 MB
This text provides a detailed presentation of the main results for infinite products, as well as several applications. The target readership is a student familiar with the basics of real analysis of a single variable and a first course in complex analysis up to and including the calculus of residues. The book provides a detailed treatment of the main theoretical results and applications with a goal of providing the reader with a short introduction and motivation for present and future study. While the coverage does not include an exhaustive compilation of results, the reader will be armed with an understanding of infinite products within the course of more advanced studies, and, inspired by the sheer beauty of the mathematics. The book will serve as a reference for students of mathematics, physics and engineering, at the level of senior undergraduate or beginning graduate level, who want to know more about infinite products. It will also be of interest to instructors who teach courses that involve infinite products as well as mathematicians who wish to dive deeper into the subject. One could certainly design a special-topics class based on this book for undergraduates. The exercises give the reader a good opportunity to test their understanding of each section.
