![]() Refining Phylogenetic Analyses: Phylogenetic Analysis of Morphological dаta: Volume 2 English | 2022 | ISBN: 0367420279 | 312 Pages | PDF (True) | 21 MB This volume discusses the aspects of a phylogenetic analysis that go beyond basic calculation of most parsimonious trees. Practical application of all principles discussed is illustrated by reference to TNT, a freely available software package that can perform all the steps needed in a phylogenetic analysis. The first problem considered is how to summarize and compare multiple trees (including identification and handling wildcard taxa). Evaluation of the strength of support for groups, another critical component of any phylogenetic analysis, is given careful consideration. The different interpretations of measures of support are discussed and connected with alternative implementations. The book reviews rationales for estimating character reliability on the basis of homoplasy, with particular attention to morphological characters. The main methods for character weighting and their practical implementation, several of them unique to TNT, are discussed ad libitum. Also unique to TNT is the ability to directly analyze morphometric data (including landmarks), on the same footing as discrete characters. Finally, the scripting language of TNT is introduced. With scripting, it is possible to "program" TNT to create personalized routines and automate complex calculations, taking analyses to the next level and allowing exploration of new methods and ideas. ![]() Rediscovering a Nation: Will the Real America Please Stand Up? by Michael Wayne Santos English | July 1st, 2022 | ISBN: 1538169215 | 256 pages | True EPUB | 0.59 MB Polarization. Webb 2007 | 96 Pages | ISBN: 071103219X | PDF | 91 MB Home to one of the earliest railways in the country, the Leicester & Swannington, Leicestershire was for many years almost a private fiefdom of the Midland Railway, though later other companies made inroads. This was an area rich in mineral wealth with both coal and iron ore deposits providing much freight traffic. Today, the railways of these two counties are a pale shadow of what they once were. Whilst some stone traffic remains, the passenger network has effectively shrunk to the ex-MR main line through Leicester and the cross-country route from Nuneaton through Melton Mowbray to Peterborough. The GC and the GN and LNWR joint lines have been completely closed, although a section of the former survives as the preserved Great Central, based at Loughborough. ![]() Railways of Kent By Tony Burges 2007 | 80 Pages | ISBN: 0711031657 | PDF | 81 MB Away from the main lines, there were the rural branches to places such as Westerham and Hawkhurst, lines that grew in importance during the hop-picking season. Kent also had two light railways, the Kent & East Sussex and the East Kent, which retained their independence up to the formation of British Railways in 1948. Although much of the Kentish economy was based on Agriculture, there was also the Kent coalfield, the Royal Navy at Chatham, paper mills north of Sittingbourne and much else to attract traffic to the railways. Whilst the majority of London commuter services were, by the 1950s provided by EMUs, it was not until the end of the decade that the Kent Coast electrification scheme saw the main lines electrified and the demise of steam on boat trains such as the legendary 'Golden Arrow'. The bulk of freight traffic remained steam-hauled into the 1960s. The book covers the entire county, locations featured include Margate, Ramsgate, Dover, Folkestone, Dungeness, Ashford, Tenterden, Hawkhurst, Canterbury, Faversham, Maidstone, Rochester, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Westerham, Sheerness and Orpington. ![]() Kevin McGruder, "Race and Real Estate: Conflict and Cooperation in Harlem, 1890-1920" English | ISBN: 0231169140 | 2015 | 296 pages | EPUB | 11 MB Through the lens of real estate transactions from 1890 to 1920, Kevin McGruder offers an innovative perspective on Harlem's history and reveals the complex interactions between whites and African Americans at a critical time of migration and development. During these decades Harlem saw a dramatic increase in its African American population, and although most histories speak only of the white residents who met these newcomers with hostility, this book uncovers a range of reactions. ![]() ROBOT 2017: Third Iberian Robotics Conference: Volume 2 By Anibal Ollero English | PDF | 2018 | 859 Pages | ISBN : 331970835X | 167.6 MB These volumes of "Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing" highlight papers presented at the "Third Iberian Robotics Conference (ROBOT 2017)".
