Run to the Finish: The Everyday Runner's Guide to Avoiding Injury, Ignoring the Clock, and Loving the Run by Amanda Brooks English | March 3, 2020 | ISBN: 0738285994 | 288 pages | PDF | 4.13 Mb Inspiration and practical tips for runners who prioritize enjoyment over pace and embrace their place as an "average" runner Alexander Horstmann, Martin Saxer, Alessandro Rippa, "Routledge Handbook of Asian Borderlands" English | 2018 | pages: 485 | ISBN: 1138917508, 1317422740, 0367580802 | PDF | 8,9 mb In Asia, where authoritarian-developmental states have proliferated, statehood and social control are heavily contested in borderland spaces. As a result, in the post-Cold War world, borders have not only redefined Asian incomes and mobilities, they have also rekindled neighbouring relations and raised questions about citizenship and security. Ann J. Cahill, "Rethinking Rape" English | 2001 | pages: 260 | ISBN: 0801487188, 0801437946 | PDF (scan) | 34,6 mb Rape, claims Ann J. Cahill, affects not only those women who are raped, but all women who experience their bodies as rapable and adjust their actions and self-images accordingly. Rethinking Rape counters legal and feminist definitions of rape as mere assault and decisively emphasizes the centrality of the body and sexuality in a crime which plays a crucial role in the continuing oppression of women. Timothy J Murray, "Restricted Generosity in the New Testament" English | 2019 | pages: 290 | ISBN: 316156474X | PDF | 2,8 mb The importance of material generosity in early Christianity has been firmly established in New Testament research. Given this consensus, Timothy J. Murray examines the New Testament texts for evidence of when, how and why the early Christians restricted their generosity. Having also examined the restricted generosity of comparable social structures (Jewish groups, Greco-Roman associations and the Hellenistic oikos), the author argues that the self-conception of the early Christians as members of a fictive-family was the most significant influence on their practices of material generosity and its restrictions, in which they drew heavily from existing cultural ideals regarding family reciprocity and support. Additionally, the author argues (against the majority view) that evidence for organised poor-care in Jewish groups is meagre and non-existent with regard to Greco-Roman associations.

Wachtel, "Relational Theory and the Practice of Psychotherapy" English | ISBN: 1593856148 | 2007 | 338 pages | PDF | 1171 KB This important and innovative book explores a new direction in psychoanalytic thought that can expand and deepen clinical practice. Relational psychoanalysis diverges in key ways from the assumptions and practices that have traditionally characterized psychoanalysis. At the same time, it preserves, and even extends, the profound understanding of human experience and psychological conflict that has always been the strength of the psychoanalytic approach. Through probing theoretical analysis and illuminating examples, the book offers new and powerful ways to revitalize clinical practice. Dr. Hidaia Mahmood Alassouli, "Reactive Power Compensation" English | 2021 | ISBN: 171506691X | ASIN: B0798H9Y6J | EPUB | pages: 144 | 1.0 mb Power systems have two components of apparent power: active and reactive power. Both components are necessary for functioning of electrical systems. The active power is the average power absorbed by the resistive load. The reactive power is the measure of energy exchange between the source and reactive power of load. Energy storage devices do not dissipate or supply power, but exchange power with the rest of system. Active power is the one that is converted to other forms of energy in the load yet reactive power is only responsible for magnetizing purposes. Power factor is a ratio depicting how much of the power supplied is real. The reactive current contribute in the value of the overall magnitude of current in transmission lines causing unnecessarily high line currents and low power factor. Since a low power factor means higher amount of apparent power need to be supplied by the utility company, thus the company must also use bigger generators, large transformers and thicker transmission/distribution lines. This requires a higher capital expenditure and operational cost which usually result in the cost being passed to the consumer. In this research, we seek to identify the effects of a low power factor on Swaziland Electricity Company's power supply system and recommend possible solutions to the problem. The results are useful in determining how to optimally deliver power to a load at a power factor that is reasonably close to unity, thus reducing the utility's operational costs while increasing the quality of the service being supplied. |
