Integrable Systems in the Realm of Algebraic Geometry
Integrable Systems in the Realm of Algebraic Geometry by Pol Vanhaecke
English | PDF | 2001 | 78 Pages | ISBN : 3540423370 | 95.3 MB
This book treats the general theory of Poisson structures and integrable systems on affine varieties in a systematic way. Special attention is drawn to algebraic completely integrable systems. Several integrable systems are constructed and studied in detail and a few applications of integrable systems to algebraic geometry are worked out. In the second edition some of the concepts in Poisson geometry are clarified by introducting Poisson cohomology; the Mumford systems are constructed from the algebra of pseudo-differential operators, which clarifies their origin; a new explanation of the multi Hamiltonian structure of the Mumford systems is given by using the loop algebra of sl(2); and finally Goedesic flow on SO(4) is added to illustrate the linearizatin algorith and to give another application of integrable systems to algebraic geometry.

Inside the Gemstone File
David Hatcher Childress, "Inside the Gemstone File"
English | 2015 | ISBN: 0932813666 | PDF | pages: 260 | 53.2 mb
It's the most notorious rant in the history of conspiracy theories. Consists of hundreds of letters hand written in many segments over a number of years by Bruce Roberts, the creator of synthetic rubies. According to Gemstone: Hughes Aircraft stole Roberts' rubies in 1960 for use in laser weapons research. His subsequent investigation of the theft inspired Roberts to write the Gemstone letters, tracking the secret history of the international mob and industrial espionage, and their role in political intrigue. In 1975, a 24 page chronology known as the Skeleton Key to The Gemstone File began to circulate and has now become a legendary classic of conspiracy literature.

Insect Media An Archaeology of Animals and Technology (Posthumanities)
Insect Media: An Archaeology of Animals and Technology (Posthumanities) By Jussi Parikka
2010 | 320 Pages | ISBN: 081666739X | EPUB | 1 MB
Since the early nineteenth century, when entomologists first popularized the unique biological and behavioral characteristics of insects, technological innovators and theorists have proposed insects as templates for a wide range of technologies. In Insect Media, Jussi Parikka analyzes how insect forms of social organization-swarms, hives, webs, and distributed intelligence-have been used to structure modern media technologies and the network society, providing a radical new perspective on the interconnection of biology and technology.Through close engagement with the pioneering work of insect ethologists, including Jakob von Uexküll and Karl von Frisch, posthumanist philosophers, media theorists, and contemporary filmmakers and artists, Parikka develops an insect theory of media, one that conceptualizes modern media as more than the products of individual human actors, social interests, or technological determinants. They are, rather, profoundly nonhuman phenomena that both draw on and mimic the alien lifeworlds of insects.Deftly moving from the life sciences to digital technology, from popular culture to avant-garde art and architecture, and from philosophy to cybernetics and game theory, Parikka provides innovative conceptual tools for exploring the phenomena of network society and culture. Challenging anthropocentric approaches to contemporary science and culture, Insect Media reveals the possibilities that insects and other nonhuman animals offer for rethinking media, the conflation of biology and technology, and our understanding of, and interaction with, contemporary digital culture.

Information Politics, Protests, and Human Rights in the Digital Age
Mahmood Monshipouri, "Information Politics, Protests, and Human Rights in the Digital Age"
English | ISBN: 1316506142 | 2017 | 325 pages | PDF | 3 MB
We live in a highly complex and evolving world that requires a fuller and deeper understanding of how modern technological tools, ideas, practices, and institutions interact, and how different societies adjust themselves to emerging realities of the digital age. This book conveys such issues with a fresh perspective and in a systematic and coherent way. While many studies have explained in depth the change in the aftermath of the unrests and uprisings throughout the world, they rarely mentioned the need for constructing new human rights norms and standards. This edited collection provides a balanced conceptual framework to demonstrate not only the power of autonomous communication networks but also their limits and the increasing setbacks they encounter in different contexts.

Ideals, Varieties, and Algorithms
Ideals, Varieties, and Algorithms: An Introduction to Computational Algebraic Geometry and Commutative Algebra by David A. Cox , John Little , Donal O'Shea
English | PDF(True) | 2015 | 653 Pages | ISBN : 3319167200 | 9.6 MB
This text covers topics in algebraic geometry and commutative algebra with a strong perspective toward practical and computational aspects. The first four chapters form the core of the book. A comprehensive chart in the Preface illustrates a variety of ways to proceed with the material once these chapters are covered. In addition to the fundamentals of algebraic geometry-the elimination theorem, the extension theorem, the closure theorem and the Nullstellensatz-this new edition incorporates several substantial changes, all of which are listed in the Preface. The largest revision incorporates a new Chapter (ten), which presents some of the essentials of progress made over the last decades in computing Gröbner bases. The book also includes current computer algebra material in Appendix C and updated independent projects (Appendix D).

I'm Not a Writer...I'm Just in Graduate School A Guide to Writing Critically, Clearly and Coherently
Dr. Vernetta K. Williams, Dr. Vernetta K. Mosley, "I'm Not a Writer...I'm Just in Graduate School: A Guide to Writing Critically, Clearly and Coherently"
English | 2016 | ISBN: 1533392919 | PDF | pages: 133 | 0.8 mb
Too many students enter graduate school unprepared to write at the level expected of them, so they become stressed and lose confidence in their ability to write well. While graduate school writing requirements are daunting, writing is a skill that can and must be mastered. However, students first must embrace their identity as scholarly writers then work to improve their writing abilities. I Am Not a Writer...is a resource that provides foundational information, skills and techniques for students to meet faculty writing expectations, navigate graduate school pressures, earn their degrees and publish in academic spaces. In this book, Dr. Williams (Mosley) provides an inside perspective by explaining what students need to know, inside and outside of the classroom, to succeed as scholars. This practical writing guide is layered with writing strategies, scholarly examples, advice and tutorials that mentor students into how to strategically approach any type of writing assignment. This writing resource was designed to equip students across disciplines with the information they need to evolve into scholars who can articulate their research ideas critically, clearly and coherently.
