Aerospace Physiology Aeromedical and Human Performance Factors for Pilots
Free Download Aerospace Physiology: Aeromedical and Human Performance Factors for Pilots by Steven C. Martin
English | February 1, 2023 | ISBN: 1662935714 | 546 pages | PDF | 7.35 Mb
Aerospace physiology (also known as flight or aviation physiology, human factors, or aeromedical factors) is the scientific discipline studying the effects of flight conditions on human physiological and cognitive systems teaching aviators to work and function at peak efficiency in the abnormal environment of flight. This information is introduced to pilots throughout their training and includes hypoxia, spatial disorientation, visual illusions, fatigue, trapped gases, and many others. Unfortunately, all of these issues still create incidents and accidents for pilots on a regular basis even today. The reason for this disparity is pilots may know about the information but fail to understand it completely. This book will transform a pilot's potential misinterpretation of this subject matter into definitive action on the flight deck.

Advanced Theory of Fractional–Slot Concentrated–Wound Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines
Free Download Advanced Theory of Fractional-Slot Concentrated-Wound Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines by Mohammad Farshadnia
English | PDF | 2018 | 266 Pages | ISBN : 9811087075 | 11.8 MB
This book focuses on the analytical modeling of fractional-slot concentrated-wound (FSCW) interior permanent magnet (IPM) machines and establishes a basis for their magnetic and electrical analysis. Aiming at the precise modeling of FSCW IPM machines' magnetic and electrical characteristics, it presents a comprehensive mathematical treatment of the stator magneto-motive force (MMF), the IPM rotor non-homogeneous magnetic saturation, and its airgap flux density. The FSCW stator spatial MMF harmonics are analytically formulated, providing a basis on which a novel heuristic algorithm is then proposed for the design of optimal winding layouts for multiphase FSCW stators with different slot/pole combinations. In turn, the proposed mathematical models for the FSCW stator and the IPM rotor are combined to derive detailed mathematical expressions of its operational inductances, electromagnetic torque, torque ripple and their respective subcomponents, as a function of the machine geometry and design parameters. Lastly, the proposed theories and analytical models are validated using finite element analysis and experimental tests on a prototype FSCW IPM machine.

A Criminology of the Human Species Setting an Unsettling Tone (Palgrave Studies in Green Criminology)
Free Download A Criminology of the Human Species: Setting an Unsettling Tone (Palgrave Studies in Green Criminology) by Yarin Eski
English | July 11, 2023 | ISBN: 3031360915 | 155 pages | PDF | 3.45 Mb
The book sketches out how the criminological lens could be used in the climate change debate around possible human extinction. It explores the extent to which the human species can be considered deviant in relation to other species of the contemporary biosphere, as humans seem to be the only species on Earth that does not live in natural balance with their environment (anymore). It discusses several unsettling topics in the public debate on climate change, specifically the taboo of how humans may not survive the ongoing climate change. It includes chapters on the Earth's history of mass-extinctions, the global state of denial including toward the possibility that the human species could go extinct, and it considers humans' future as a deviant, fatal species outside of Earth, in outer-space, possibly on other planets. It puts forward and enriches the critical criminological tradition by conceptualizing and setting an unsettling tone within criminology and criminological research on the human species and our extinction, by daring criminologists (and victimologists) to ponder and seek empirical answers to controversial imaginations and questions about our possible extinction.
