![]() Free Download Modelling Geographical Systems: Statistical and Computational Applications by Barry Boots, Atsuyuki Okabe, Richard Thomas English | PDF | 2002 | 353 Pages | ISBN : 140200821X | 36.5 MB Within the realm of quantitative geography, systems modelling is specifically concerned with understanding those relationships that influence the attributes of phenomena located in space and time. The intention is to replicate the main processes influencing a system's behaviour and, thereby, assist its manage ment through a capability to estimate future change. Over the last few decades, one of the major institutional initiatives for promoting such research has been provided by specialised Study Groups and Commissions established by the International Geographical Union (IGU). These scholarly networks have aimed to co-ordinate international research agendas for geographical systems model ling and their activities have been recorded in both edited volumes (Fischer and Getis, 1997) and special issues of learned journals (Wilkinson and Boots, 2000; Leung and Okabe, 2001). Presently, this facilitative task is the charge of the Commission on Modelling Geographical Systems (CMGS) appointed at the IGU Hague Congress in 1996 and chaired by Barry Boots (1996-2000) and Richard Thomas (2000-present). Set against this background, this book provides a perspective on the work of the CMGS from 1996 until the IGU Seoul Congress in August 2000 through a collection of papers first presented to our sessions at this event. Moreover, a number of Japanese delegates were attracted to this Asian venue and their con tributions provide many new ideas concerning the implementation of systems analysis. ![]() Free Download Paul Portner, "Modality (Oxford Surveys in Semantics and Pragmatics)" English | 2009 | pages: 301 | ISBN: 0199292434, 0199292426 | PDF | 10,6 mb This is a book about semantic theories of modality. Its main goal is to explain and evaluate important contemporary theories within linguistics and to discuss a wide range of linguistic phenomena from the perspective of these theories. The introduction describes the variety of grammatical phenomena associated with modality, explaining why modal verbs, adjectives, and adverbs represent the core phenomena. Chapters are then devoted to the possible worlds semantics for modality developed in modal logic; current theories of modal semantics within linguistics; and the most important empirical areas of research. The author concludes by discussing the relation between modality and other topics, especially tense, aspect, mood, and discourse meaning. ![]() Free Download Mobile Web and Intelligent Information Systems: 19th International Conference, MobiWIS 2023, Marrakech, Morocco, August 14-16, 2023, Proceedings by Muhammad Younas, Irfan Awan, Tor-Morten Grønli English | PDF (True) | 2023 | 283 Pages | ISBN : 3031397630 | 25.8 MB This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 19th International Conference on Mobile Web and Intelligent Information Systems, MobiWIS 2023, held in Marrakech, Morocco, during August 14-16, 2023. ![]() Free Download Mixed-Signal Layout Generation Concepts by Chieh Lin , Arthur H. M. Roermund , Domine M. W. Leenaerts English | PDF | 2005 | 211 Pages | ISBN : 1402075987 | 14.7 MB Mixed-Signal Layout Generation Concepts covers important physical-design issues that exist in contemporary analog and mixed-signal design flows. Due to the increasing pressure on time-to-market, the steep increase in chip fabrication costs, and the increasing design complexity, it becomes even more challenging to produce a first-time right IC layout. The fundamental issues in creating a layout are placement and routing. Although these coupled problems have been investigated for many decades, no satisfactory automated solution has emerged yet. Fortunately, supported by modern computing power and results of new research that further improve computation efficiency, significant steps forward have been taken. ![]() Free Download Yvonne Brewster, "Mixed Company: Three Early Jamaican Plays (Oberon Modern Playwrights)" English | 2012 | pages: 256 | ISBN: 1849432163 | EPUB | 1,3 mb In 2012 Jamaica celebrates the 50th anniversary of Independence. Data mining is a technique that has the ability to process and analyze large amount of data and by this to discover valuable information from the data. In recent year, due to the growth of social communications and social networking websites, data mining becomes a very important and powerful technique to process and analyze such large amount of data. Thus, this book will focus upon Mining and Analyzing social network. Some chapters in this book are extended from the papers that presented in MSNDS2009 (the First International Workshop on Mining Social Networks for Decision Support) and SNMABA2009 ((The International Workshop on Social Networks Mining and Analysis for Business Applications)). In addition, we also sent invitations to researchers that are famous in this research area to contribute for this book. The chapters of this book are introduced as follows: In chapter 1-Graph Model for Pattern Recognition in Text, Qin Wu et al. present a novel approach that uses a weighted directed multigraph for text pattern recognition. In the proposed methodology, a weighted directed multigraph model has been set up by using the distances between the keywords as the weights of arcs as well a keyword-frequency distance based algorithm has also been introduced. Case studies are also included in this chapter to show the performance is better than traditional means. ![]() Free Download Terry Hyland, "Mindfulness and Learning: Celebrating the Affective Dimension of Education" English | 2011 | pages: 252 | ISBN: 9400737297, 9400719108 | PDF | 1,3 mb In recent decades, education at all levels has been seriously impoverished by a growing obsession with standards, targets, skills and competences. According to this model, only a circumscribed range of basic cognitive skills and competences are the business of education, whose main role is to provide employability credentials for people competing for jobs in the global economy. The result is a one-dimensional, economistic and bleakly utilitarian conception of the educational task. ![]() Free Download Mark Williams, Danny Penman, Jon Kabat-Zinn, "Mindfulness: An Eight-Week Plan for Finding Peace in a Frantic World" English | 2012 | pages: 288 | ISBN: 1609618955, 1609611985 | EPUB | 0,8 mb The life-changing international bestseller reveals a set of simple yet powerful mindfulness practices that you can incorporate into daily life to help break the cycle of anxiety, stress, unhappiness, and exhaustion. |
