Free Download John H. Pierson, "Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion: Promoting Social Justice in Social Work"
English | 2016 | pages: 232 | ISBN: 0415742986, 0415742994 | EPUB | 2,4 mb
In our highly unequal Britain poverty and social exclusion continue to dominate the lives of users of social work and social care services. At the same time, spending cuts and welfare reform have changed the context within which services are delivered. The third edition of this unique textbook seeks to capture the complexity and diversity of practice relating to social exclusion as social workers adapt to this challenging environment.

T. S. Eliot A Guide for the Perplexed
Free Download Steve Ellis, "T. S. Eliot: A Guide for the Perplexed"
English | 2009 | pages: 180 | ISBN: 1847060161 | PDF | 0,6 mb
T. S. Eliot is one of the most celebrated twentieth-century poets and one whose work is practically synonymous with perplexity. Eliot is perceived as extremely challenging due to the multi-lingual references and fragmentation we find in his poetry and his recurring literary allusions to writers including Dante, Shakespeare, Marvell, Baudelaire, and Conrad.

Systematic Design of Analog IP Blocks
Free Download Systematic Design of Analog IP Blocks by J. Vandenbussche , G. Gielen , M. Steyaert
English | PDF | 2003 | 205 Pages | ISBN : 1402074719 | 18.4 MB
Systematic Design of Analog IP Blocks introduces a design methodology that can help to bridge the productivity gap. Two different types of designs, depending on the design challenge, have been identified: commodity IP and star IP. Each category requires a different approach to boost design productivity. Commodity IP blocks are well suited to be automated in an analog synthesis environment and provided as soft IP. The design knowledge is usually common knowledge, and reuse is high accounting for the setup time needed for the analog library. Star IP still changes as technology evolves and the design cost can only be reduced by following a systematic design approach supported by point tools to relieve the designer from error-prone, repetitive tasks, allowing him/her to focus on new ideas to push the limits of the design.

System–Level Power Optimization for Wireless Multimedia Communication Power Aware Computing
Free Download System-Level Power Optimization for Wireless Multimedia Communication: Power Aware Computing by Ramesh Karri, David Goodman
English | PDF | 2002 | 215 Pages | ISBN : 140207204X | 8.3 MB
System-Level Power Optimization for Wireless Multimedia Communication Power Aware Computing focuses on emerging issues in power aware portable multimedia communications devices beyond low-power electronic design. Specifically, this work is a compilation of system-level power management approaches including theoretical and simulation studies, field measurements, algorithm development and experimental test beds related to low power computing, mobile communication and networking. The authors address integrative power optimization studies that jointly consider computing, communications and networking. The chapters reflect four clusters of work: theoretical studies, work related to networks of sensors, techniques for optimizing hardware and software design, and application-level issues.

Synthesis and Control of Discrete Event Systems
Free Download Synthesis and Control of Discrete Event Systems by Benoît Caillaud, Philippe Darondeau, Luciano Lavagno, Xiaolan Xie
English | PDF | 2002 | 223 Pages | ISBN : 0792376390 | 18.8 MB
This book aims at providing a view of the current trends in the development of research on Synthesis and Control of Discrete Event Systems. Papers col lected in this volume are based on a selection of talks given in June and July 2001 at two independent meetings: the Workshop on Synthesis of Concurrent Systems, held in Newcastle upon Tyne as a satellite event of ICATPN/ICACSD and organized by Ph. Darondeau and L. Lavagno, and the Symposium on the Supervisory Control of Discrete Event Systems (SCODES), held in Paris as a satellite event of CAV and organized by B. Caillaud and X. Xie. Synthesis is a generic term that covers all procedures aiming to construct from specifications given as input objects matching these specifications. The ories and applications of synthesis have been studied and developped for long in connection with logics, programming, automata, discrete event systems, and hardware circuits. Logics and programming are outside the scope of this book, whose focus is on Discrete Event Systems and Supervisory Control. The stress today in this field is on a better applicability of theories and algorithms to prac tical systems design. Coping with decentralization or distribution and caring for an efficient realization of the synthesized systems or controllers are of the utmost importance in areas so diverse as the supervision of embedded or man ufacturing systems, or the implementation of protocols in software or in hard ware.

Synergetic Phenomena in Active Lattices Patterns, Waves, Solitons, Chaos
Free Download Synergetic Phenomena in Active Lattices: Patterns, Waves, Solitons, Chaos by Vladimir I. Nekorkin , Manuel G. Velarde
English | PDF (True) | 2002 | 371 Pages | ISBN : 3540427155 | 8.7 MB
In recent years there has been growing interest in the study of the nonlinear spatio-temporal dynamics of problems appearing in various ?elds of science and engineering. In a wide class of such systems an important place is - cupied by active lattice dynamical systems. Active lattice systems are, e. g. , networks of identical or almost identical interacting units ordered in space. The activity of lattices is provided by the activity of units in them that possess energy or matter sources. In real (1D, 2D or 3D) space, processes develop by means of various types of connections, the simplest being di?usion. The uniqueness of lattice systems is that they represent spatially extended systems while having a ?nite-dimensional phase space. Therefore, active lattice s- tems are of interest for the study of multidimensional dynamical systems and the theory of nonlinear waves and dissipative structures of extended systems as well. The theory of nonlinear waves and dissipative structures of spatially distributed systems demands using theoretical methods and approaches of the qualitative theory of dynamical systems, bifurcation theory, and numerical methods or computer experiments. In other words, the investigation of spat- temporal dynamics in active lattice systems demands a multitool, synergetic approach, which we shall use in this book.
