English | 2001 | pages: 130 | ISBN: 1531612865, 0738518972 | EPUB | 43,0 mb
We have met the enemy and they are ours. . . . So wrote Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry to General William Henry Harrison following his decisive victory over a British fleet at the Battle of Lake Erie. Perry's victory served as a catalyst both for this battle and for ending hostilities in the Old Northwest Theater of the War of 1812. Captured here in over 200 vintage images from the Monument archives, is a pictorial and technical record of how a monument befitting this naval victory and the resulting peace became a reality.

Public Policies and Sustainable Development in Post–Reform India
Free Download Public Policies and Sustainable Development in Post-Reform India : Regional Responses and the Way Forward by Mukunda Mishra, Subrata Saha, Madhabendra Sinha
English | PDF (True) | 2023 | 424 Pages | ISBN : 9819936950 | 7.6 MB
This book portrays India as a representative of post-colonial democratic republic states with a parliamentary form of federal-structured government and analyzes the critical challenges faced by such states in generating broadly shared economic well-being and quality of life. The reader is shown how creating and utilizing physical, human, financial, and social assets under the aegis of public policies help achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to provide a global framework to move toward a more equitable, peaceful, resilient, and prosperous society by 2030. It not only addresses how the state's capacity has long been linked to the available economic resources, but also unfolds how the political system thus evolves to crucially determine the capacity of the state to implement its programs. The chapters of this book are particularly focused on judging the state's capacity amid the neo-liberal ascendancy that has been triggered by the opening up of both the domestic and external economy, significantly initiated since 1991 and popularly known as the economic reforms in India.

Public Investment Criteria Benefit–Cost Analysis for Planned Economic Growth
Free Download Stephen A. Marglin, "Public Investment Criteria: Benefit-Cost Analysis for Planned Economic Growth"
English | 2016 | pages: 104 | ISBN: 1138830666, 1138830658 | PDF | 4,8 mb
This book, first published in 1967, explores some of the problems formulating investment criteria for the public sector of a mixed-enterprise, underdeveloped economy. The typical essay on public investment criteria explicitly or implicitly postulates a single goal for economic analysis - maximization of weighted average of national income over time - and relegates all other objectives of public policy to a limbo of "political" and "social" objectives not amenable to systematic, rational treatment. In contrast Professor Marglin assumes a multiplicity of objectives and explores ways and means of expressing contributions to different objectives in common terms. The book also investigates the relationship of specific investment criteria to the objectives of public policy. Benefits and costs are defined separately for each objective, as are so-called "secondary" benefits. This book is suited for students of economics.

Psychotherapeutische Diagnostik Leitlinien für den neuen Standard
Free Download Psychotherapeutische Diagnostik: Leitlinien für den neuen Standard by Heinrich Bartuska, Manfred Buchsbaumer, Gerda Mehta, Gerhard Pawlowsky, Stefan Wiesnagrotzki
Deutsch | PDF | 2005 | 290 Pages | ISBN : 3211252908 | 1.8 MB

Pseudo–Monotone Operator Theory for Unsteady Problems with Variable Exponents
Free Download Pseudo-Monotone Operator Theory for Unsteady Problems with Variable Exponents by Alex Kaltenbach
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 364 Pages | ISBN : 3031296699 | 56.7 MB
This book provides a comprehensive analysis of the existence of weak solutions of unsteady problems with variable exponents. The central motivation is the weak solvability of the unsteady p(.,.)-Navier-Stokes equations describing the motion of an incompressible electro-rheological fluid. Due to the variable dependence of the power-law index p(.,.) in this system, the classical weak existence analysis based on the pseudo-monotone operator theory in the framework of Bochner-Lebesgue spaces is not applicable. As a substitute for Bochner-Lebesgue spaces, variable Bochner-Lebesgue spaces are introduced and analyzed. In the mathematical framework of this substitute, the theory of pseudo-monotone operators is extended to unsteady problems with variable exponents, leading to the weak solvability of the unsteady p(.,.)-Navier-Stokes equations under general assumptions.

English | 2014 | pages: 327 | ISBN: 113800720X, 041518780X | PDF | 3,1 mb
Property and power perform a key role in social and political theories of class inequality and social stratification, however, theorists have yet clearly to define these concepts, their mutual boundaries and scopes of application. This book answers the property/power puzzle by undertaking a broad historical inquiry into its intellectual origins and present-day effects through a series of case studies, including:
