Free Download Robert Cohen, "Transforming Children's Mental Health Policy into Practice: Lessons from Virginia and Other States' Experiences Creating"
English | ISBN: 1498541127 | 2016 | 380 pages | EPUB | 2 MB
This book examines the long term impact of service reform in children's mental health, focusing on comprehensive state and local initiatives to improve care for children with serious behavioral health and their families to illustrate how programmatic and contextual forces influence policy and practice in this area, and inform readers about strategies employed by policy makers, administrators and advocates to develop and sustain effective systems of care. This book looks at Virginia's effort to reform care for at-risk youth, as well as the transformational initiatives of six states and several localities. Using a comprehensive ecological framework, the authors focus on a statewide transformation of services for children/youth with serious emotional and behavioral challenges to enhance understanding of the course and consequences of system change efforts over an extended period of time. Attention is given to the impact of this reform on individual children and families, and local communities as well as the Commonwealth.

Transcendence in Heidegger's Early Thought Toward Being as Event
Free Download Erik Kuravsky, "Transcendence in Heidegger's Early Thought: Toward Being as Event"
English | ISBN: 3031412907 | 2023 | 330 pages | EPUB, PDF | 533 KB + 6 MB
This book demonstrates how Heidegger's departure from ontotheology occurs initially as a preparation for the concept of Dasein's transcendence and subsequently as its explicit development and overcoming. Dasein's transcendence is revealed as the foundation for the subsequent concept of Beyng as an Event, which stands in contrast to all ontotheological perspectives that assert a singular a priori foundation of the universe attributed to beings, God, consciousness, or even an independent "process" of Being that doesn't rely on Dasein. The book illustrates that transcendence is not an attribute of human consciousness or a connection to something external to it. Instead, as a "primal act," transcendence paves the way for a non-representational dwelling in the essence of a historically unfolding Being, a contemplative recollection of the truth of Beyng. Throughout the book, there is a gradual progression towards an understanding of transcendence as an active engagement, wherein we "do" transcendence. This process involves a reconstruction of the ontological significance of action, emphasizing its performative embeddedness in existence and its inseparability from Beyng.

Trailer Park America Reimagining Working–Class Communities
Free Download Leontina Hormel, "Trailer Park America: Reimagining Working-Class Communities"
English | ISBN: 1978829469 | 2023 | 284 pages | PDF | 92 MB
In rural northern Idaho in the winter of 2013-2014, Syringa Mobile Home Park's water system was contaminated by sewage, resulting in residents' water being shut off for 93 days. By summer 2018 Syringa had closed, forcing residents to relocate or face homelessness. Trailer Park America chronicles how residents dealt with regulatory agencies, frequent boil order notices, threats of closure, and class-based social stigma over this period. Despite all this, what was seen as a dysfunctional, 'disorderly' community by outsiders was instead a refuge where veterans, women heads of households, and people with disabilities or substance use disorders were supported and understood. The embattled Syringa community also organized to defend the rights and dignity of residents and served as a site for negotiating with local government, culminating in a class-action lawsuit that reached the federal level. The experiences Syringa residents faced in this conservative, predominately white region of the United States are emblematic of the growing national and global crisis in affordable housing and home ownership, with declining work conditions and incomes for the working-class.

Traffic Grooming in Optical WDM Mesh Networks
Free Download Traffic Grooming in Optical WDM Mesh Networks by Keyao Zhu , Hongyue Zhu , Biswanath Mukherjee
English | PDF | 2005 | 189 Pages | ISBN : 0387254323 | 11 MB
Optical networks based on wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) tech nology offer the promise to satisfy the bandwidth requirements of the Inter net infrastructure, and provide a scalable solution to support the bandwidth needs of future applications in the local and wide areas. In a waveleng- routed network, an optical channel, referred to as a lightpath, is set up between two network nodes for communication. Using WDM technology, an optical fiber link can support multiple non-overlapping wavelength channels, each of which can be operated at the data rate of 10 Gbps or 40 Gbps today. On the other hand, only a fraction of customers are expected to have a need for such a high bandwidth. Due to the large cost of the optical backbone infrastruc ture and enormous WDM channel capacity, connection requests with diverse low-speed bandwidth requirements need to be efficiently groomed onto hi- capacity wavelength channels. This book investigates the optimized design, provisioning, and performance analysis of traffic-groomable WDM networks, and proposes and evaluates new WDM network architectures. Organization of the Book Significant amount of research effort has been devoted to traffic grooming in SONET/WDM ring networks since the current telecom networks are mainly deployed in the form of ring topologies or interconnected rings. As the long-haul backbone networks are evolving to irregular mesh topologies, traffic grooming in optical WDM mesh networks becomes an extremely important and practical research topic for both industry and academia.

Traditions Redirecting Contemporary Indonesian Cultural Productions
Free Download Arndt Graf Jan van der Putten, Monika Arnez, Edwin P. Wieringa, "Traditions Redirecting Contemporary Indonesian Cultural Productions"
English | ISBN: 1443889938 | 2017 | 315 pages | PDF | 1415 KB
This volume is the result of a conference held in October 2015 in connection with the Frankfurt Book Fair discussing developments that are considered important in contemporary Indonesian cultural productions. The first part of the book reflects on the traumatic experiences of the Indonesian nation caused by a failed coup on October 1, 1965. In more general theoretical terms, this topic connects to the field of memory studies, which, in recent decades, has made an academic comeback. The focus of the chapters in this section is how certain, often distressing, events are represented in narratives in a variety of media that are periodically renewed, changed, rehearsed, repeated, and performed, in order to become or stay part of the collective memory of a certain group of people. The second part of the book explores how forces of globalisation have impacted upon the local and, linguistically surprisingly, rather homogeneous cultural productions of Indonesia. The main strands of inquiry in this second section are topics of global trends in religion, responses to urban development, the impact of popular literary developments, and how traditions are revisited in order to come to terms with international cultural developments.

Tradition and Rhetoric in Pauls Correspondence with the Corinthians
Free Download Harm W. Hollander, "Tradition and Rhetoric in Pauls Correspondence with the Corinthians"
English | ISBN: 1527546322 | 2020 | 237 pages | PDF | 2 MB
This collection of essays deals with a number of important words and passages in the apostle Pauls letters to the Corinthians. It clarifies Pauls ways of defending himself against the attacks of some Corinthian Christians and his attempts to persuade his readers to keep on living according to the law of God. The analyses centre on answering two questions. First, what does Paul take from the ideas that were in vogue in his time, the Graeco-Roman, Hellenistic period? Secondly, what particular twist does he give to these traditional concepts and motifs in order to persuade his readers in Corinth effectively? The analyses produce a number of new and surprising results, and will appeal to New Testament scholars and students, clergymen, and all those interested in the ideas of the apostle Paul and in Christian belief and behaviour.

Toxicology at Environmentally Relevant Concentrations in Caenorhabditis elegans (2024)
Free Download Toxicology at Environmentally Relevant Concentrations in Caenorhabditis elegans by Dayong Wang
English | EPUB | 2022 | 371 Pages | ISBN : 9811667454 | 101.9 MB
"This book uses Caenorhabditis elegans as model animal to introduce the toxicity induction of toxicants at environmentally relevant concentrations under different conditions. It also discusses the systematic introduction of different molecular signaling pathways, as well as G protein coupled receptors and ion channels, in regulating the toxicity of toxicants at environmentally relevant concentrations.
