![]() Free Download Thin Film Device Applications by Kasturi Lal Chopra, Inderjeet Kaur English | PDF | 1983 | 305 Pages | ISBN : 1461336848 | 39.5 MB Two-dimensional materials created ab initio by the process of condensation of atoms, molecules, or ions, called thin films, have unique properties significantly different from the corresponding bulk materials as a result of their physical dimensions, geometry, nonequilibrium microstructure, and metallurgy. Further, these characteristic features of thin films can be drasti cally modified and tailored to obtain the desired and required physical characteristics. These features form the basis of development of a host of extraordinary active and passive thin film device applications in the last two decades. On the one extreme, these applications are in the submicron dimensions in such areas as very large scale integration (VLSI), Josephson junction quantum interference devices, magnetic bubbles, and integrated optics. On the other extreme, large-area thin films are being used as selective coatings for solar thermal conversion, solar cells for photovoltaic conver sion, and protection and passivating layers. Indeed, one would be hard pressed to find many sophisticated modern optical and electronic devices which do not use thin films in one way or the other. With the impetus provided by industrial applications, the science and technology of thin films have undergone revolutionary development and even today continue to be recognized globally as frontier areas of RID work. Major technical developments in any field of science and technology are invariably accompanied by an explosion of published literature in the form of scientific publications, reviews, and books.

![]() Free Download Therapeutic Gastrointestinal Endoscopy: A Comprehensive Atlas, Second Edition by Hoon Jai Chun English | EPUB | 2019 | 411 Pages | ISBN : 9811311838 | 549.1 MB The second edition of this atlas has been extensively revised to provide an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy for upper and lower gastrointestinal diseases. The coverage ranges from basic but highly effective procedures like cold snare polypectomy and variceal ligation to sophisticated procedures such as peroral endoscopic myotomy and endoscopic submucosal dissection. New instruments, for example over-the-scope clips and various stents, are introduced in the relevant chapters. ![]() Free Download Theory, Evidence, dаta: Themes from George E. Smith by Marius Stan, Christopher Smeenk English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2023 | 408 Pages | ISBN : 3031410408 | 27.3 MB This book builds on the path-breaking work of George E. Smith and further explores the notions of evidence and confirmation in the exact sciences from two perspectives: conceptual and historical. Contributions in this volume investigate the philosophical presuppositions, explanatory scope, and historical precursors of evidence in mathematical physics and related disciplines. The papers are written by and of interest to philosophers and historians of science. ![]() Free Download Theory of Electrostatic Waves in Hyperbolic Metamaterials by Afshin Moradi English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2023 | 239 Pages | ISBN : 3031485955 | 54.8 MB This book covers electrostatic properties of hyperbolic metamaterials (HMMs), a fascinating class of metamaterials which combine dielectric and metal components. Due to the hyperbolic topology of the isofrequency surface in HMMs, the so-called resonance cone direction exists, and as a result, propagation of quasi-electrostatic waves, or more commonly, electrostatic waves close to the resonance cone with large wave vectors, is possible. However, the investigation of electrostatic wave properties in HMMs is largely overlooked in most works on the subject, and the purpose of this monograph is to fill this gap. This book gives a thorough theoretical treatment of propagation, reflection, and refraction of electrostatic waves in HMMs of various dimensions and geometries. It will be of interest to students and researchers who work on electrical and optical properties of metamaterials.

Dawson English | PDF | 1976 | 285 Pages | ISBN : 1461342791 | 16.7 MB This book is intended for use by engineers and scientists who have a need for an introduction to advanced topics in solid mechanics. It deals with modern concepts of continuum mechanics as well as with details of the classical theories of elasticity, thermal elasticity, viscous elasticity, and plasticity of solids. The book assumes no prior knowledge of the mechanics of solids and develops the subject entirely from first principles. Rigorous derivations of governing equations are also followed by applications to a number of basic and practical problems. Cartesian tensors are used throughout the book to express mathematical concepts in a clear and concise fashion. Chapter I, accordingly, provides a discussion of this topic for those readers not already familiar with it. This material is then followed by detailed discussions in Chapters 2 and 3 of the kinematics of continuum motion and the fundamental principles of mass conservation and momentum balance. Unlike traditional treatments, this material is first developed for the general large-deformation case and only then restricted to small deformations for use in the usual engineering appli cations. In this way the reader thus gets a fuller picture of the basic governing relations of solid mechanics.
