M24 Chaffee Light Tank 1943–85 (New Vanguard)
Free Download M24 Chaffee Light Tank 1943-85 (New Vanguard) by Steven J. Zaloga, Jim Laurier
English | June 20, 2003 | ISBN: 9781841765402 | 48 pages | MOBI | 33 Mb
The history of US light tanks during World War II is a chequered one. The Light Battalions of US Armored Divisions were initially filled with M3A1 and M5 Stuart tanks, however, on the battlefields of North Africa it was realised that these were disastrously under armoured and gunned, and a replacement, or the abandonment of light tank doctrine, was desperately needed. It wasn't until the last few months of WWII that the M24 Chaffee came into service and it was extensively used in combat from the Battle of the Bulge to the final campaigns in Germany. This book will trace the history of this design, its combat record in World War II, its many variants, and its extensive combat record post 1945.

1999 | 212 Pages | ISBN: 353113311X | PDF | 10 MB

Lung Transplantation
Free Download Lung Transplantation By H. C. Doerge, G. Wieselthaler, A. Zuckermann, O. Artemiou (auth.), Roland Hetzer M.D. (eds.)
2003 | 69 Pages | ISBN: 3662046792 | PDF | 3 MB
Clinical lung transplantation has seen an early start within the history of solid organ trans plantation, marked by the 1963 first lung transplant by James D. Hardy. This was prompted by the seemingly easy way of joining the transplanted organ to the recipient by me ans of a few well-defined anastomoses, i.e. bronchus, pulmonary artery and pulmonary vein carry ing left atrial cuff. The following decade thus witnessed a number of such mostly unilateral lung transplants in several centres, in Germany represented by the two only lung transplants performed by E. S. Bücherl, then at the Neukölln City Hospital in Berlin in 1969. As with most other such attempts these two patients suffered early and lethai graft failure. There was only one single lung transplant patient who lived up to ten months after the transplant at Gent, Belgium, having been operated on by Derom in 1969. The alm ost universal failure during this initial phase was attributed to bronchial anasto motic insufficiency, pulmonary infection of either the transplanted lung or the left-in-place contralateral lung and a far-reaching lack of knowledge how to cope with transplant rejec tion. In the early 1970s it had become gene rally accepted that lung transplantation could not be performed successfully.

Lucky Hitler's Big Mistakes Hitler's Big Mistakes
Free Download Lucky Hitler's Big Mistakes: Hitler's Big Mistakes by Paul Ballard-Whyte
English | November 4, 2022 | ISBN: 1399074377 | 336 pages | MOBI | 67 Mb
Adolf Hitler's Great War military experiences in no way qualified him for supreme command. Yet by July 1940, under his personal leadership the Third Reich's armed forces had defeated Poland, Czechoslovakia, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium and France. The invasion of Great Britain was a distinct reality following Dunkirk. Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania had become allies along with the acquiescent military powers of Mussolini's Italy and Franco's Spain. These achievements prompted Field Marshal Willem Keitel, the Wehrmacht's Chief of Staff, to pronounce Hitler to be 'the Greatest Commander of all time'.
