Free Download Stochastic Differential Equations: An Introduction with Applications, Third Edition by Bernt Øksendal English | PDF | 1992 | 240 Pages | ISBN : 3540533354 | 12 MB From the reviews to the first edition: Most of the literature about stochastic differential equations seems to place so much emphasis on rigor and completeness that it scares the nonexperts away. These notes are an attempt to approach the subject from the nonexpert point of view.: Not knowing anything ... about a subject to start with, what would I like to know first of all. My answer would be: 1) In what situations does the subject arise ? 2) What are its essential features? 3) What are the applications and the connections to other fields?" The author, a lucid mind with a fine pedagocical instinct, has written a splendid text that achieves his aims set forward above. He starts out by stating six problems in the introduction in which stochastic differential equations play an essential role in the solution. Then, while developing stochastic calculus, he frequently returns to these problems and variants thereof and to many other problems to show how thetheory works and to motivate the next step in the theoretical development. Needless to say, he restricts himself to stochastic integration with respectto Brownian motion. He is not hesitant to give some basic results without proof in order to leave room for "some more basic applications"... It can be an ideal text for a graduate course, but it is also recommended to analysts (in particular, those working in differential equations and deterministic dynamical systems and control) who wish to learn quickly what stochastic differential equations are all about. Free Download Solar Light-to-Hydrogenated Organic Conversion: Heterogeneous Photocatalysts by Hairus Abdullah English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 299 Pages | ISBN : 9819981131 | 95.9 MB This book highlights the promising photocatalytic methods for synthesizing organic chemicals by simultaneously degrading the toxicity of raw substances used for organic synthesis. It presents various semiconducting materials with high catalytic activities in hydrogen evolution reactions (HERs) and hydrogenation reactions, as well as the material characterizations for identifying semiconductor photocatalysts. The focus is on understanding the hydrogen dissociation and activation of substances in the process of hydrogenation and the fabrication of nanostructured catalysts with desired activity and selectivity. Recent works show photocatalytic hydrogenation reactions with in situ generated H+ on catalyst surfaces utilizing initial chemicals such as nitrophenol, nitrobenzene, azobenzene, and benzene for valorization. In addition, the photocatalytic valorization of waste glycerol is also discussed. Besides the hydrogenation reactions, the reduction of oxygen to form H2O2 can be done with a photocatalytic method in atmospheric conditions. Some related perspectives and outlooks are also discussed for possible future development. Free Download Soft Computing and Signal Processing: Proceedings of 4th ICSCSP 2021 by V. Free Download Smart Grid Economics: A Field Experimental Approach to Demand Response by Takanori Ida , Makoto Tanaka , Koichiro Ito English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 142 Pages | ISBN : 9819985765 | 14.1 MB This book aims to report on a cutting-edge research project of the smart grid in Japan, resting on the three pillars of field experiments, behavioral economics, and big data. The field experiments on the smart grid were conducted in four regions in Japan-Yokohama city, Toyota city, Keihanna Science City, and Kitakyushu city-over a three-year period from 2012 to 2014 after the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, and the subsequent accident at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plants. Our focus here is on demand response in the smart grid environment, which we also discuss in the context of power system reforms. The book is intended for undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, policy makers, and business leaders. Free Download Sliding Modes in Control and Optimization by Vadim I. Utkin English | PDF | 1992 | 300 Pages | ISBN : 3642843816 | 23.8 MB The book is devoted to systems with discontinuous control. The study of discontinuous dynamic systems is a multifacet problem which embraces mathematical, control theoretic and application aspects. Times and again, this problem has been approached by mathematicians, physicists and engineers, each profession treating it from its own positions. Interestingly, the results obtained by specialists in different disciplines have almost always had a significant effect upon the development of the control theory. It suffices to mention works on the theory of oscillations of discontinuous nonlinear systems, mathematical studies in ordinary differential equations with discontinuous righthand parts or variational problems in nonclassic statements. The unremitting interest to discontinuous control systems enhanced by their effective application to solution of problems most diverse in their physical nature and functional purpose is, in the author's opinion, a cogent argument in favour of the importance of this area of studies. It seems a useful effort to consider, from a control theoretic viewpoint, the mathematical and application aspects of the theory of discontinuous dynamic systems and determine their place within the scope of the present-day control theory. The first attempt was made by the author in 1975-1976 in his course on "The Theory of Discontinuous Dynamic Systems" and "The Theory of Variable Structure Systems" read to post-graduates at the University of Illinois, USA, and then presented in 1978-1979 at the seminars held in the Laboratory of Systems with Discontinous Control at the Institute of Control Sciences in Moscow.
