S. Shvarts English | 1977 | ISBN: 1468480995 | 292 Pages | PDF | 9.3 MB While translating this book, I was in close communication with the author, S. S. Shvarts (Schwarz), who read and commented on the entire translated manuscript. In particular, any ambiguities as to the identity of organisms described only by common names in the original text were removed, because the author kindly supplied the Latin names in all such cases. Com mon names are retained in the translation, but the Latin names are also added where needed. Some of the terminology used in the Russian is a transliteration from English words employed now more by European workers than Americans. I have defined these terms or noted their more common equivalents used in current American literature where it seemed useful in the text. A final chapter, "Recent Work on the Evolutionary Ecology of Ani mals," is presented as Appendix II to the translation of the original text. I have written this chapter in order to update the material presented in the original edition published in 1969. The chapter discusses important recent contributions relevant to the subject matter presented by Shvarts. I would like to thank W. Z. Lidicker, Jr., and Y. B. Linhart for reading this final chapter and providing very helpful suggestions and comments. I am particularly grateful to the author, S. S. Shvarts, for his careful reading of the translated manuscript. ![]() Free Download The Evolutionary Biology Papers of Elie Metchnikoff by Helena Gourko English | 2000 | ISBN: 9048153565 | 244 Pages | PDF | 7.6 MB Elie Metchnikoff (1845-1916), winner of the Nobel Prize in 1907 for his contributions to immunology, was first a comparative zoologist, who, working in the wake of Darwin's On the Origin of Species, made seminal contributions to evolutionary biology. ![]() Free Download The Essential Schopenhauer: Key Selections from The World As Will and Representation and Other Writings by Arthur Schopenhauer English | 2010 | ISBN: 0061768243 | 368 Pages | EPUB | 1.9 MB The Essential Schopenhauer delivers the first comprehensive English anthology of the seminal philosopher's writings, edited by Wolfgang Schirmacher, president of the International Schopenhauer Association. ![]() Free Download The Essential Guide to CSS and HTML Web Design by Craig Grannell English | 2008 | ISBN: 1590599071 | 552 Pages | PDF | 11.9 MB There are a lot of books out there covering CSS and HTML, but this one stands out from the crowd by combining all the best aspects of reference and tutorial books ― it teaches everything you need to know to design great web sites, and moves at a fast pace, eschewing unnecessary theory and obscure details. ![]() Free Download The Essential Dick Gregory by Dick Gregory, Christian Gregory English | 2022 | ISBN: 0062879200 | 288 Pages | EPUB | 4.1 MB A true renaissance man, Richard Claxton "Dick" Gregory was one of the pioneering satirists of his generation, a reformer and brilliant spokesperson for the downtrodden and forgotten who dedicated his life to speaking unadulterated truth-and to improving ordinary lives. ![]() Free Download The End of the Road: A journey around Britain in search of the dead by Jack Cooke English | 2020 | ISBN: 0008294704 | 304 Pages | EPUB | 16.8 MB A wonderfully quixotic, charming and surprisingly uplifting travelogue which sees Jack Cooke, author of the much-lovedThe Treeclimbers Guide, drive around the British Isles in a clapped-out forty-year old hearse in search of famous and not so famous tombs, graves and burial sites. ![]() Free Download The End of Ignorance: Multiplying Our Human Potential by John Mighton English | 2007 | ISBN: 0676979629 | 320 Pages | PDF | 8.6 MB The End of Ignorance conceives of a world in which no child is left behind - a world based on the assumption that each child has the potential to be successful in every subject.
