NoMeansNo From Obscurity to Oblivion An Oral History
Free Download NoMeansNo: From Obscurity to Oblivion: An Oral History by Jason Lamb, Paul Prescott
English | January 2, 2024 | ISBN: 9798887440187, ASIN: B0BQYJBSDX | True EPUB | 336 pages | 310 MB
They were unlike any other band in the punk scene they called home. NoMeansNo started in the basement of the family home of brothers Rob and John Wright in 1979. For the next three decades, they would add and then replace a guitar player, sign a record deal with Alternative Tentacles and tour the world. All along the way, they kept their integrity, saying "NO" to many mainstream opportunities. It was for this reason the band (intentionally) never became a household name, but earned the respect and love of thousands of fans around the world, including some who became big rock stars themselves. They were expertly skilled musicians playing a new kind of punk: intelligent, soulful, hilarious, and complex. They were also really nice Canadian dudes.

In this pioneering history of their evolution, Richard R. John demonstrates how access to these networks was determined not only by technological imperatives and economic incentives but also by political decision making at the federal, state, and municipal levels.

Nazis in the Holy Land 1933–1948
Free Download Nazis in the Holy Land 1933-1948 By Heidemarie Wawrzyn
2013 | 231 Pages | ISBN: 3110306522 | PDF | 10 MB
This book focuses on the relationship of Palestine-Germans with Arabs and Jews in the British Mandate of Palestine from 1933 to 1948/50: Young Germans marched through Haifa shouting Heil Hitler! and Swastika flags were hoisted at the German consulates. In 1931 a non-Jewish German made the initial contact with Nazi officials that led to the establishment of a miniature Third Reich with local Nazi groups. This is the first book in English on this bizarre footnote in history.

Narrative Being Vs. Narrating Being
Free Download Marija Krivokapic, "Narrative Being Vs. Narrating Being"
English | ISBN: 1443880930 | 2015 | 270 pages | PDF | 1133 KB
This edited volume focuses on Anglo-American modernist fiction, offering challenging perspectives that consider modernism in the instances in which it transcends itself, moving, broadly speaking, towards postmodernist self-irony. As such, the contributions here discuss issues such as being in creation; narrativizing being and creation; the relation between being and narrative; the situation of being in narrative time and space; the relation between authority and narrative; possible authority over narrative and the authority of narrative; interaction between narrative and the other; the authority of the other over and within the narrative; and the inter-referentiality of text and author. Divided into two parts, Towards High Modernism and After Modernism , the book allows the reader to chronologically follow how authors relations to literature in general evolved with the changing world and new perspectives on the nature of reality. This book offers an insightful contribution to the on-going discussion on the ambiguities inherent in the concepts of author, narrative, and being, and will stimulate intellectual confrontation and circulation of ideas within the field.
