That Deaf Kid The Ultimate Guide for Parents of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children
Free Download Mark Drolsbaugh, "That Deaf Kid: The Ultimate Guide for Parents of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children"
English | 2022 | ASIN: B09WTQCXCR, B09WW4MJXS | EPUB | pages: 94 | 0.2 mb
That Deaf Kid is a valuable resource for parents of deaf and hard of hearing children. It examines the ongoing tug-of-war between mainstreaming, deaf schools, hearing aids, cochlear implants, sign language, speech therapy, and more. That Deaf Kid brings these issues to light and shows how it's possible to have a healthy balance. Most important, it builds a critical bridge between fitting in and belonging. When we cross that bridge, we encourage deaf and hard of hearing children to discover their authentic selves.

Texts and Practices Revisited Ed 2
Free Download Carmen Rosa Caldas-Coulthard, "Texts and Practices Revisited Ed 2"
English | ISBN: 1032225114 | 2023 | 292 pages | EPUB, PDF | 8 MB + 33 MB
This is a second edition of the ground- breaking volume Texts and Practices: Readings in Critical Discourse Analysis, which was the first published collection of chapters presenting critical discourse analysis theory and practice. Critical discursive approaches have now become the main trend in most discursive and semiotic investigations. It was then, and is especially now, predominantly concerned with identifying, demystifying and resisting the ways language and semiotic systems are used to reflect, create and sustain inequalities in specific contexts.

Text Relevance and Learning from Text
Free Download Matthew T McCrudden, "Text Relevance and Learning from Text"
English | ISBN: 1617355305 | 2011 | 428 pages | PDF | 3 MB
Why do people from similar backgrounds who read the same text construct different meanings? Is there a question behind every reading goal, such that reading is an interactive process of asking and answering of questions? Do people who believe that knowledge is dynamic construct meaning differently than those who believe that knowledge is certain? This volume addresses questions such as these and presents cutting edge research and theory that explores how readers determine text relevance (i.e., the different values they assign to information as they read), how relevance affects understanding, and the implications of these studies for theories of text comprehension. This volume documents in a compelling manner the ongoing international effort to understand how text relevance affects reading and comprehension. Contributing authors represent major academic institutions on three continents and nine countries, demonstrating the multinational interest in text relevance. Why is there so much interest in text relevance? Learners are inundated with unprecedented amounts of information, and increased research regarding how readers process non-traditional texts (e.g., documents on the web) and multiple documents, for example, underscores the importance of understanding how readers determine the relevance of text information for personal, academic, or professional goals, which can enable educators to design learning situations that help learners get the most out of reading. Test Examples for Nonlinear Programming Codes
Free Download Test Examples for Nonlinear Programming Codes by Willi Hock , Klaus Schittkowski
English | PDF | 1981 | 188 Pages | ISBN : 3540105611 | 9.2 MB
The performance of a nonlinear programming algorithm can only be ascertained by numerical experiments requiring the collection and implementation of test examples in dependence upon the desired performance criterium. This book should be considered as an assis tance for a test designer since it presents an extensive collec tion of nonlinear programming problems which have been used in the past to test or compare optimization programs. He will be in formed about the optimal solution, about the structure of the problem in the neighbourhood of the solution, and, in addition, about the usage of the corresp, onding FORTRAN subroutines if he is interested in obtaining them -ofi a magnetic tape. Chapter I shows how the test examples are documented. In par ticular, the evaluation of computable information about the solu tion of a problem is outlined. It is explained how the optimal solution, the optimal Lagrange-multipliers, and the condition number of the projected Hessian of the Lagrangian are obtained. Furthermore, a classification number is defined allowing a formal description of a test problem, and the documentation scheme is described which is used in Chapter IV to present the problems.

Test Driven Development By Example
Free Download Test Driven Development: By Example by Kent Beck
English | November 8th, 2002 | ISBN: 0321146530 | 241 pages | True PDF | 1.65 MB
Quite simply, test-driven development is meant to eliminate fear in application development. While some fear is healthy (often viewed as a conscience that tells programmers to "be careful!"), the author believes that byproducts of fear include tentative, grumpy, and uncommunicative programmers who are unable to absorb constructive criticism. When programming teams buy into TDD, they immediately see positive results. They eliminate the fear involved in their jobs, and are better equipped to tackle the difficult challenges that face them.

Terrors of the Flesh The Philosophy of Body Horror in Film
Free Download David Huckvale, "Terrors of the Flesh: The Philosophy of Body Horror in Film"
English | ISBN: 1476682186 | 2020 | 196 pages | EPUB, PDF | 8 MB + 10 MB
The horror and psychological denial of our mortality, along with the corruptibility of our flesh, are persistent themes in drama. Body horror films have intensified these themes in increasingly graphic terms. The aesthetic of body horror has its origins in the ideas of the Marquis de Sade and the existential philosophies of Arthur Schopenhauer and Friedrich Nietzsche, all of whom demonstrated that we have just cause to be anxious about our physical reality and its existence in the world.
