Programming Jakarta Struts
Free Download Chuck Cavaness, "Programming Jakarta Struts"
English | 2002 | ISBN: 0596003285, 4873111358 | PDF | pages: 401 | 2.8 mb
Web tier frameworks have really taken off in the past year or so. Developers who used to spend hours and hours writing low-level features have realized the enormous benefits of using well-written frameworks to build the presentation tier so they can get to coding the "good stuff", the business logic at the core of the program. The Struts Framework, originally created by Craig R. McClanahan and donated to the Apache Software Foundation's Jakarta project in 2000, has become one of the most popular presentation frameworks for building web applications with Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages (JSP) technology. It encourages application architecture based on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design paradigm, colloquially known as the Model 2 approach. As popular as Struts is becoming, the online documentation is inadequate, focusing on the most basic functionality and leaving out information crucial to developers writing today's complex web applications. O'Reilly's Programming Jakarta Struts was written by Chuck Cavaness after his internet company decided to adopt the framework, then spent months really figuring out how to use it to its fullest potential. He calls the books, "the culmination of lessons learned (the hard way) during the building of our application."Readers will benefit from the real-world, "this is how to do it" approach Cavaness takes to developing complex enterprise applications using Struts, and his focus on the 1.1 version of the Framework makes this the most up-to-date book available.Programming Jakarta Struts covers:

Program Modification
Free Download Program Modification by Jean-Dominique Warnier
English | PDF | 1978 | 153 Pages | ISBN : 9020707779 | 7.6 MB
THE PROGRAMMER-ANALYST'S ROLE The pages that follow are based on observation, over the past few years, of the work done by programmer analysts. Although they come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and are trained in a variety of ways, they seem with rare exception to have at least two things in common . * They have been trained to create, to organize new data structures, new programs. As a result they tend to regard the development of new projects as their principle job, and accept only with reluctance so-called maintenance work, for which hardly anyone volunteers . * They have received no training at all in how to modify and develop existing programs and data structures. Programmers assigned to maintenance tasks come to consider their role as minor, their work tedious, and sometimes take such an assignment as an invitation to seek a job elsewhere. It is only natural that people take little interest in work for which they have not been trained. If we examine the curriculum of courses for beginning or for experienced data processing personnel, we find in fact that training concentrates exclusively on program design and data file organization, to the detriment of modification and development.

Program Development by Refinement Case Studies Using the B Method
Free Download Program Development by Refinement: Case Studies Using the B Method by Emil Sekerinski, Kaisa Sere
English | PDF | 1999 | 352 Pages | ISBN : 1852330538 | 42.7 MB
The Idea of Program Refinement Programs are complex. They are typically so complex, that they go beyond the full comprehension even of the programmer or team who designed them, with all the consequences this has. How can we cope with such complexity in a satisfactory way? An approach, advocated for a long time, is to separate a concise specification of a program - the "what" - from a possibly involved implementation - the "how". Once a specification is obtained from the set of requirements on the program, there can still be a large gap to an efficient implementation. The development from specification to implementation can then proceed by a succession oflayers, such that each layer is a refinement of the previous one. Design decisions can be introduced in refinement steps one at a time. By this, the refinement steps can be kept small and manageable. Still, the set of all requirements can be far too large to be taken completely into account in the initial specification. Even if they could, they might obscure issues more than clarify them. For example: * An information system for stored goods needs to produce an error message on il legal input. Yet, the exact wording - and even the language - of those messages is irrelevant for an understanding of the essence of the system. * A banking application interacts with customers with a graphical interface. Yet the specification of the graphical layout is secondary compared to the specification of the possible transactions.

Profile of a Nation Trump's Mind, America's Soul
Free Download Bandy X. Lee, "Profile of a Nation: Trump's Mind, America's Soul"
English | ISBN: 1735553743 | 2020 | 186 pages | EPUB | 249 KB
An unprecedented report for unprecedented times, Profile of a Nation: Trump's Mind, America's Soul is a unique and timely accomplishment by one of America's leading intellectuals.Dr. Bandy Lee's previous New York Times bestseller, The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 37 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President, opened the door to understanding the Trump presidency from a mental health perspective and has been published in many countries and languages. This new book goes beyond Donald Trump to explaining the followers who elevated him and the nation that tolerated him as president. Why does Donald Trump have such a hold on his followers? Why must he provoke violence? What is going on in the minds of those who support and follow him, after so many scandals, failed policies, and even a deadly insurrection? What caused his ascendancy, and how can we prevent another one?Dr. Lee's epic new book is "the missing piece" that answers these questions with accessible language. She was the first to call out Donald Trump's psychological dangers in a major way at the start of his presidency. Written over the summer of 2020, she explains why, after almost 200,000 coronavirus deaths and economic devastation, he is still a candidate for reelection and correctly predicts that he would not concede an election loss, would declare it a fraud, and would not let go of power unless severe limits are set on him from without. She outlines what citizens can do at this critical time to help the nation heal and prevent another Trump travesty. With 20 years of experience treating violent offenders and advising on violence prevention programming for prisons, communities, and governments, Dr. Lee is uniquely well positioned with a considerable track record of accuracy. She has also blown the whistle on the American Psychiatric Association's misuse of the now-infamous "Goldwater rule" to silence mental health professionals under the Trump presidency. The muzzling of intellectuals and journalists, she has warned, is the first sign of tyranny.Melding the techniques of CIA profiling with established methods of public health, this report represents an attempt to meet mental health professionals' responsibility to society. At this critical time all seriously concerned Americans need to be aware of Dr. Lee's conclusions and recommendations.
