Modelling in Natural Sciences Design, Validation and Case Studies
Free Download Modelling in Natural Sciences: Design, Validation and Case Studies by Tibor Müller , Harmund Müller
English | PDF | 2003 | 469 Pages | ISBN : 3540001530 | 43.5 MB
This book defines the wide application of the art of modelling. The main emphasis is on the imaging of dynamic processes which are analysed and subdivided into their atomic constituents by means of systems analysis. The cyclic structure and the stages of models set-up are explained. The evaluation of a models quality is regarded as a stochastic process. The aspects of grade used in different fields of sciences are brought into perspective. Thus, a quantitative concept of validity on the basis of conditional degrees of rational belief can be developed.

Modeling with Itô Stochastic Differential Equations (2024)
Free Download Modeling with Itô Stochastic Differential Equations by E. Allen
English | PDF | 2007 | 238 Pages | ISBN : 1402059523 | 1.6 MB
Dynamical systems with random influences occur throughout the physical, biological, and social sciences. By carefully studying a randomly varying system over a small time interval, a discrete stochastic process model can be constructed. Next, letting the time interval shrink to zero, an Ito stochastic differential equation model for the dynamical system is obtained.

Model Tests and Numerical Simulations of Liquefaction and Lateral Spreading II LEAP–ASIA–2019
Free Download Model Tests and Numerical Simulations of Liquefaction and Lateral Spreading II: LEAP-ASIA-2019 by Tetsuo Tobita, Koji Ichii, Kyohei Ueda
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | Pages | ISBN : 3031488202 | 203.2 MB
This book presents work collected through the Liquefaction Experiments and Analysis Projects (LEAP) in 2019 (LEAP-ASIA-2019) following the LEAP-UCD-2017 whose results have been published as a first volume. In addition to the research targets set in the previous one, such as the repeatability, variability, and sensitivity of lateral spreading on mildly sloping liquefiable sand, this volume includes research efforts to validate the generalized scaling law (hereafter "GSL") for the identical prototype with the one employed in UCD-2017. In LEAP-ASIA-2019, 10 institutes around the world conducted 23 tests in total. It was the first multi-institutional attempts to investigate the validity of the generalized scaling law for the saturated sandy sloping deposit with wide range of initial conditions. The experimental data provided a unique basis for assessing the capabilities of six different simulation platforms for numerical simulation of soil liquefaction. The results of the experiments and the numerical simulations are presented and discussed in papers submitted by the project participants.
