Bewußtheit durch Bewegung Der aufrechte Gang
Free Download Bewußtheit durch Bewegung: Der aufrechte Gang By Moshe Feldenkrais
1996 | 248 Pages | ISBN: 3518391380 | DJVU | 1 MB

Bewegungsmangel Dekonditionierung, Krankheit, Schmerzen, Altern
Free Download Bewegungsmangel: Dekonditionierung, Krankheit, Schmerzen, Altern
Deutsch | 2023 | ISBN: 3662677520 | 444 Seiten | EPUB (True) | 40 MB

Between Revolution and State The Path to Fatimid Statehood
Free Download Sumaiya Hamdani, "Between Revolution and State: The Path to Fatimid Statehood "
English | ISBN: 185043882X | 2006 | 240 pages | PDF | 13 MB
This book examines the most important writings of a tenth century Islamic theologian and jurist who was one of the most original thinkers of his period. It argues that Qadi al-Nu'man's works constituted new and vital genres in Ismaili Shi'i literature, an emergence necessitated by the Fatimids' transition from revolutionary movement to statehood, and by their desire to establish their authority as a Shi'i alternative to the Sunni Abbasid caliphate. Al-Nu'man, already famous in the Fatimid era, produced a legacy which consists of a school of law, historical and biographical works, new interpretations of Ismaili doctrine, and the formulation of a ceremonial language achieved through his work on court protocol. Between Revolution and State represents a sophisticated and readable analysis of one of the seminal figures of the Fatimid period.

Between Religion and Reason
Free Download Ephraim Chamiel, "Between Religion and Reason "
English | ISBN: 1644695707 | 2021 | 246 pages | PDF | 1510 KB
This book is dedicated to an analysis of the writings of modern religious Jewish thinkers who adopted a neo-fundamentalist, illusionary, apologetic approach, opposing the notion that there may sometimes be a contradiction between reason and revelation. The book deals with the thought of Eliezer Goldman, Norman Lamm, David Hartman, Aharon Lichtenstein, Jonathan Sacks, and Michael Abraham. According to these thinkers, it is possible to resolve all of the difficulties that arise from the encounter between religion and science, between reason and revelation, between the morality of halakhah and Western morality, between academic scholarship and tradition, and between scientific discoveries and statements found in the Torah. This position runs counter to the stance of other Jewish thinkers who espouse a different, more daring approach. According to the latter view, irresolvable contradictions between reason and faith sometimes face the modern Jewish believer, who must reconcile himself to these two conflicting truths and learn to live with them. This dialectic position was discussed in

Between Apocalypse and Eschaton History and Eternity in Henri de Lubac
Free Download Between Apocalypse and Eschaton: History and Eternity in Henri de Lubac By Joseph S. Flipper
2015 | 343 Pages | ISBN: 1451484569 | PDF | 3 MB
Between Apocalypse and Eschaton examines the systematic theology of Henri de Lubac, SJ, one of the most significant Catholic theologians of the twentieth century. While much of the recent work on de Lubac centers on the controversies surrounding his theology of the supernatural, Between Apocalypse and Eschaton argues that eschatology is the key to de Lubac's theological project and critical to understanding the nouvelle theologie, the group of theologians with whom de Lubac was associated. At the time, intra-Catholic controversies arose around the nouvelle theologie as part of a broader anxiety over the loss of the eternal in twentieth-century Europe. The German occupation of France in World War II was the backdrop for a renewed apocalyptic and eschatological thinking among French Catholics. The nouvelle theologiegenerated a debate over the meaning of "the end" that was critical to understanding the theological, spiritual, and political fissures in the postwar period. After World War II, de Lubac's writings increasingly focused on the theology of history and eschatology. The present work returns focus to this often neglected aspect of de Lubac's work.About the AuthorJoseph S. Flipper is assistant professor of theology at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and was a Ford Foundation fellowship recipient. His most recent publication is the article "Suffering as Glory in Hans Urs von Balthasar and James Cone" in The Journal of the Black Catholic Theological Symposium (2013).

Betting Against the Crowd A Complex Systems Approach
Free Download Betting Against the Crowd: A Complex Systems Approach
English | 2024 | ISBN: 3031520181 | 244 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 6.4 MB
Crowds are misleading, both in their simplicity and in their complexity. On the one hand, they behave according to expected trends; on the other, they present sudden shifts and frantic, unexpected behavior. Therefore, "betting against the crowd," whether in politics, sports, or finance, requires a deep understanding of the crowd's dynamics. In this book, Prof. Neuman addresses this challenge by delving into the complexity of crowds. The book involves foundational issues and novel ideas, such as why crowds behave unexpectedly, why betting against the crowd is possible only in short time frames, why is it important to be attentive to suspicious signs that are indicative of the crowd's behavior, and why the long tail of fatalities in armed conflicts leaves us surprised by blitz attacks of violent mobs. The book combines scientific knowledge, experiments, and accessible, often humorous, exposition. It can be read by anyone with a basic science education who seeks to understand crowds and how one can act within and against them.
