Lysiae Orationes [incomplete]
Free Download Lysiae Orationes ncomplete By Chris Carey
2007 | 71 Pages | ISBN: 019814072X | PDF | 1 MB
One of the canonical Athenian orators, Lysias was much admired in antiquity. This new critical edition seeks to make the whole surviving corpus of Lysias available to the modern reader. It combines a newly edited text of the speeches preserved in the medieval manuscript tradition (based on the most up-to-date evaluation of the transmission) with a comprehensive collection of the fragments preserved indirectly through citation in ancient sources and in papyrus discoveries in the twentieth century. A general introduction in English provides an overview of the transmission of the text in antiquity and the Renaissance. An appendix contains a number of speeches almost certainly not written by Lysias but occasionally attributed to him in modern times.

Love is Blind
Free Download Love is Blind By William Boyd
2018 | 384 Pages | ISBN: 0525655263 | EPUB | 5 MB
Brodie Moncur is a brilliant piano tuner, as brilliant in his own way as John Kilbarron--"The Irish Liszt"--the pianist Brodie accompanies on all of his tours from Paris to Saint Petersburg, as essential to Kilbarron as the pianist's own hands. It is a luxurious life, and a level of success Brodie could hardly have dreamed of growing up in a remote Scottish village, in a household ruled by a tyrannical father. But Brodie would gladly give it all up for the love of the Russian soprano Lika Blum: beautiful, worldly, seductive--and consort to Kilbarron. And though seemingly doomed from the start, Brodie's passion for her only grows as their lives become increasingly more intertwined, more secretive, and, finally, more dangerous--what Brodie doesn't know about Lika, and about her connection to Kilbarron and his sinister brother, Malachi, eventually testing not only his love for her but his ability, and will, to survive.

2018 | 240 Pages | ISBN: 1406384208 | EPUB | 2 MB
3 Hours and 30 MinutesFrom two-time Newbery Medalist Kate DiCamillo comes a story of discovering who you are--and deciding who you want to be.When Louisiana Elefante's granny wakes her up in the middle of the night to tell her that the day of reckoning has arrived and they have to leave home immediately, Louisiana isn't overly worried. After all, Granny has many middle-of-the-night ideas. But this time, things are different. This time, Granny intends for them never to return. Separated from her best friends, Raymie and Beverly, Louisiana struggles to oppose the winds of fate (and Granny) and find a way home. But as Louisiana's life becomes entwined with the lives of the people of a small Georgia town -- including a surly motel owner, a walrus-like minister, and a mysterious boy with a crow on his shoulder -- she starts to worry that she is destined only for good-byes. (Which could be due to the curse on Louisiana's and Granny's heads. But that is a story for another time.)Called "one of DiCamillo's most singular and arresting creations" byThe New York Times Book Review, the heartbreakingly irresistible Louisiana Elefante was introduced to readers inRaymie Nightingale--and now, with humor and tenderness, Kate DiCamillo returns to tell her story.

Lost Ancient Technology Of Peru And Bolivia
Free Download Lost Ancient Technology Of Peru And Bolivia By Brien Foerster
2013 | 237 Pages | ISBN: 1492348023 | EPUB | 15 MB
Ancient Peru and Bolivia, like Egypt, contain enigmas and mysteries, especially in stone which most conventional scholarship can`t explain. Rather than simply being the exclusively the works of cultures such as the Inca, there are many megalithic wonders which defy both the conventional time lines and known levels of technology attributed to the ancient people of South America. The most glaring example is most likely Puma Punku, near the shore of Lake Titicaca in Bolivia, which hints at not only being several thousand years old, but also seems to have been achieved using what we would call high level machine technology. There are also many sites in Peru, and especially near the city of Cusco that also show the hall marks of having been made by cultures using technology supposedly not known by cultures such as the Inca.A massive collection of photographic and and detailed analysis is contained in this book, as well as on site observations by leading engineers, such as Christopher Dunn, author of the Giza Power Plant, and acclaimed author and engineer Arlan Andrews.
