![]() Free Download Oliver Schlenkrich, "Origin and Performance of Democracy Profiles " English | ISBN: 3658348798 | 2021 | 388 pages | PDF | 8 MB This study has two central research questions: Do democracy profiles affect policy performance? And what causes democracy profiles? Oliver Schlenkrich conceptualizes and measures different democracy profiles (e.g., libertarian-majoritarian or egalitarian-majoritarian democracies) based on trade-offs between the central democracy dimensions of political freedom, political equality, and political and legal control. In addition, the study conceptually and empirically develops a typology of political performance. Regarding the first research question, the empirical analyses of about 80 democracies from 1974 to 2017 indicate that there is not an overall better performing democracy profile. Thereby, the democracy profiles do not have an immediate effect, instead their effects require a longer period of time to manifest. With respect to the second research question, the empirical findings show that several structural and cultural factors are relevant (e.g., British heritage or a competitive culture). This work is mainly based on Bayesian statistics to cope with the complexity of the data and models. ![]() Free Download Organizational Change, Innovation and Business Development: The Impact of Non-Technological Innovations English | 2023 | ISBN: 0367752328 | 327 Pages | EPUB | 6 MB Chapters display a variety of research methods, both qualitative and quantitative, including case studies, best practices, surveys, novel approaches to interpretations, concepts and theories. Together they contribute to a significant extension of the existing knowledge on non-technological innovations and their role in organizations. This volume highlights the effects of marketing and organizational innovation strategies on companies' innovation and overall performance, while demonstrating that the effects of NTI may vary depending on the phase of the innovation process, and how it differs within small, medium and large enterprises from manufacturing and service industries. It explores the bidirectional relationship between technological innovation (TI) and NTI, and considers the competences needed to implement NTI. ![]() Free Download Robert G Owens, "Organizational Behavior in Education: Leadership and School Reform [RENTAL EDITION] Ed 12" English | ISBN: 0135809185 | 2020 | pages | PDF | 6 MB Organizational Behavior in Education: Leadership and School Reform [RENTAL EDITION] ![]() Free Download Gavin Bissell, "Organisational Behaviour for Social Work" English | 2012 | ISBN: 1847422799, 1847422802 | EPUB | pages: 200 | 1.1 mb Organisational behaviour for social work unites the well-established study of behaviour in organizations with the special, and sometimes unusual, organizational settings of social work practice. In doing this, it recognizes the gendered nature of social work organizations, but, uniquely, retains simultaneously the valuable insights of mainstream organizational behaviour research, despite its often male context. Another innovation of the book is the targetting of non-traditional organizational behaviour audiences. For, where previous textbooks have tended to cater for managers, this book is aimed at the social work practitioner, andothers who interact with social work organizations. Finally, the book uses real social work case examples to flesh out traditional organizational behaviour concepts, and, in doing so, also explains the impact of recent organizational changes upon social work practice. ![]() Free Download Ghis William Ogilvie, Nathan Ackroyd, Scott Browning, "Organic Chemistry: Mechanistic Patterns" English | 2017 | ISBN: 017650026X | PDF | pages: 1278 | 160.3 mb Organic Chemistry: Mechanistic Patterns is the very first introductory organic chemistry title that holistically focuses on a mechanistic approach; an approach that has proven to achieve a deeper understanding of chemical reactivity. This mechanistic approach to the dynamic world of organic chemistry visualizes reactivity as a collection of patterns in electron movement, making it possible for students to describe why a reaction occurred. Recognizing patterns of electron flow between seemingly different reactions can allow students to predict how a chemical will react, even if they have never seen a particular reaction before. The text takes great care to establish a progression of reactivity, from simple to complex, introducing functional groups as necessary, while focusing on the reaction at hand rather than the various things that each functional group does. Together, we seek to open students' eyes to the dynamic world of organic chemistry with a more powerful and systematic approach to learning. ![]() Free Download Niels Halberg, "Organic Agriculture for Sustainable Livelihoods " English | ISBN: 1849712964 | 2012 | 296 pages | PDF | 46 MB This book provides a timely analysis and assessment of the potential of organic agriculture (OA) for rural development and the improvement of livelihoods. It focuses on smallholders in developing countries and in countries of economic transition, but there is also coverage of and comparisons with developed countries. It covers market-oriented approaches and challenges for OA as part of high value chains and as an agro-ecologically based development for improving food security. It demonstrates the often unrecognised roles that organic farming can play in climate change, food security and sovereignty, carbon sequestration, cost internalisations, ecosystems services, human health and the restoration of degraded landscapes. ![]() Free Download Chapter 1 by Frank Columbus English | 2024 | ISBN: 9798891134867 | 314 pages | True PDF | 29.72 MB ![]() Free Download Ric Edelman, "Ordinary People, Extraordinary Wealth: The 8 Secrets of How 5,000 Ordinary Americans Became Successful Investors-and How You Can Too" English | 2001 | ISBN: 0062736868, 0062702475 | EPUB | pages: 336 | 0.9 mb How did a secretary, a firefighter, a retired naval officer, a housewife, a construction worker, a schoolteacher, and a pharmacist become wealthy? In particular, recognizability, randomness, and applications to other areas of mathematics are covered. ![]() Free Download Kyle M. Lascurettes, "Orders of Exclusion: Great Powers and the Strategic Sources of Foundational Rules in International Relations" English | 2020 | ISBN: 019006854X, 0190068558 | PDF | pages: 353 | 1.9 mb When and why do powerful countries seek to enact major changes to international order, the broad set of rules that guide behavior in world politics? This question is particularly important today given the Trump administration's clear disregard for the reigning liberal international order in the United States. Across the globe, there is also uncertainty over what China might seek to replace that order with as it continues to amass power and influence. Together, these developments mean that what motivates great powers to shape and change order will remain at the forefront of debates over the future of world politics. Prior studies have focused on how the origins of international orders have been consensus-driven and inclusive. By contrast, Kyle M. Lascurettes argues in Orders of Exclusion that the propelling motivation for great power order building has typically been exclusionary. Dominant powers pursue fundamental changes to order when they perceive a major new threat on the horizon. Moreover, they do so for the purpose of targeting this perceived threat, be it another powerful state or a foreboding ideological movement. The goal of foundational rule writing in international relations, then, is blocking that threatening entity from amassing further influence, a motive Lascurettes illustrates at work across more than three hundred years of history. Far from falling outside of the bounds of traditional statecraft, order building is the continuation of power politics by other means. |
