Avant–garde Hamlet text, stage, screen
Free Download Avant-garde Hamlet : text, stage, screen By Shakespeare, William; White, R. S
2015 | 211 Pages | ISBN: 1611478553 | PDF | 4 MB
Hamlet stands as a high water mark of canonical art, yet it has equally attracted rebels and experimenters, those avant-garde writers, dramatists, performers, and filmmakers who, in their adaptations and appropriations, seek new ways of expressing innovative and challenging thoughts in the hope that they can change perceptions of their own world. One reason for this, as the book argues, is that the source text that is their inspiration was written in the same spirit. Hamlet as a work of art exhibits many aspects of the "vanguard" movements in every society and artistic milieux, an avant-garde vision of struggle against conformity, which retains an edge of provocative novelty. Accordingly, it has always inspired unorthodox adaptations and can be known by a neglected portion of the company it keeps, the avant-garde in every age. After placing Hamlet alongside "cutting edge" works in Shakespeare's time, such as Marlowe's Doctor Faustus and Kyd's The Spanish Tragedy, chapters deal with the ways in which experimental writers, theatre practitioners, and film-makers have used the play down to the present day to develop their own avant-garde visions. This is a part of the uncanny ability of Shakespeare's Hamlet to be "ever-now, ever-new."

Available surfaces essays on poesis
Free Download Available surfaces : essays on poesis By Hummer Hummer
2012 | 160 Pages | ISBN: 0472071858 | PDF | 2 MB
In Available Surfaces , T. R. Hummer explores the art of making both poetry and music, and of the concept of "making" itself. He draws on childhood experiences and experiences as an adult, as a poet, and as an explorer of unworldly spaces to examine that "something ineffable about the process of making of which the poem is the exemplary artifact." Hummer grew up in the deep South, and spent many of his high school years playing saxophone in various rock and roll bands before he met poetry. This musical influence is visible in his work: he often discusses poetry together with music, or music with poetry, and his career has included both writing and performance.

Autonomy after Auschwitz Adorno, German Idealism, and Modernity
Free Download Autonomy after Auschwitz: Adorno, German Idealism, and Modernity By Martin Shuster
2014 | 201 Pages | ISBN: 022615548X | PDF | 1 MB
Ever since Kant and Hegel, the notion of autonomythe idea that we are beholden to no law except one we impose upon ourselveshas been considered the truest philosophical expression of human freedom. But could our commitment to autonomy, as Theodor Adorno asked, be related to the extreme evils that we have witnessed in modernity? In Autonomy after Auschwitz, Martin Shuster explores this difficult question with astonishing theoretical acumen, examining the precise ways autonomy can lead us down a path of evil and how it might be prevented from doing so. Shuster uncovers dangers in the notion of autonomy as it was originally conceived by Kant. Putting Adorno into dialogue with a range of European philosophers, notably Kant, Hegel, Horkheimer, and Habermasas well as with a variety of contemporary Anglo-American thinkers such as Richard Rorty, Stanley Cavell, John McDowell, and Robert Pippinhe illuminates Adorno's important revisions to this fraught concept and how his different understanding of autonomous agency, fully articulated, might open up new and positive social and political possibilities. Altogether, Autonomy after Auschwitz is a meditation on modern evil and human agency, one that demonstrates the tremendous ethical stakes at the heart of philosophy.

Autonomic Computing and Networking (2024)
Free Download Autonomic Computing and Networking by Yan Zhang, Laurence Tianruo Yang, Mieso K. Denko
English | PDF | 2009 | 462 Pages | ISBN : 0387898271 | 7.1 MB
Autonomic Computing and Networking presents introductory and advanced topics on autonomic computing and networking with emphasis on architectures, protocols, services, privacy & security, simulation and implementation testbeds. Autonomic computing and networking are new computing and networking paradigms that allow the creation of self-managing and self-controlling computing and networking environments using techniques such as distributed algorithms and context-awareness to dynamically control networking functions without human interventions. Autonomic networking is characterized by recovery from failures and malfunctions, agility to changing networking environment, self-optimization and self-awareness. The self-control and management features can help to overcome the growing complexity and heterogeneity of exiting communication networks and systems. The realization of fully autonomic heterogeneous networking introduces several research challenges in all aspects of computing and networking and related fields.

Autonomic Communication (2024)
Free Download Athanasios V. Vasilakos, Manish Parashar, "Autonomic Communication"
English | 2009 | pages: 380 | ISBN: 038709752X, 1489982795, 3540078010 | PDF | 10,2 mb
New paradigms for communication/networking systems are needed in order to tackle the emerging issues such as heterogeneity, complexity and management of evolvable infrastructures. In order to realize such advanced systems, approaches should become task- and knowledge-driven, enabling a service-oriented, requirement, and trust-driven development of communication networks. The networking and seamless integration of concepts, technologies and devices in a dynamically changing environment poses many challenges to the research community, including interoperability, programmability, management, openness, reliability, performance, context awareness, intelligence, autonomy, security, privacy, safety, and semantics.

Automorphisms of manifolds and algebraic K–theory Part III
Free Download Automorphisms of manifolds and algebraic K-theory: Part III By Michael S. Weiss, Bruce E. Williams
2014 | 122 Pages | ISBN: 147040981X | PDF | 1 MB
The structure space $\mathcal{S}(M)$ of a closed topological $m$-manifold $M$ classifies bundles whose fibers are closed $m$-manifolds equipped with a homotopy equivalence to $M$. The authors construct a highly connected map from $\mathcal{S}(M)$ to a concoction of algebraic $L$-theory and algebraic $K$-theory spaces associated with $M$. The construction refines the well-known surgery theoretic analysis of the block structure space of $M$ in terms of $L$-theory
