![]() Free Download The Formation and Evolution of M33 as Revealed by Its Star Clusters by Izaskun San Roman English | PDF (True) | 2013 | 139 Pages | ISBN : 1461473268 | 3.8 MB This thesis represents the first wide-field photometric and spectroscopic survey of star clusters in the nearby late-spiral galaxy M33. This system is the nearest example of a dwarf spiral galaxy, which may have a unique role in the process of galaxy formation and evolution. The cold dark matter paradigm of galaxy formation envisions large spiral galaxies, such as the Milky Way, being formed from the merger and accretion of many smaller dwarf galaxies. The role that dwarf spiral galaxies play in this process is largely unclear. One of the goals of this thesis is to use the star cluster population of M33 to study its formation and evolution from its early stages to the present. The thesis presents a new comprehensive catalog of M33 star clusters, which includes magnitudes, colors, structural parameters, and several preliminary velocity measurements. Based on an analysis of these data, the thesis concludes that, among other things, the evolution of M33 has likely been influenced by its nearby massive neighbor M31. ![]() Free Download The Firebird Book: A Reference for Database Developers by Helen Borrie English | PDF | 2004 | 1088 Pages | ISBN : 1590592794 | 107.9 MB Although less publicized than other open source database management systems, Firebird continues to gain a dedicated following of professional users. A fundamental theory for quantum mechanics is constructed from first physical principles, revealing quantization as an emergent phenomenon arising from a deeper stochastic process. As such, it offers the vibrant community working on the foundations of quantum mechanics an alternative contribution open to discussion. The book starts with a critical summary of the main conceptual problems that still beset quantum mechanics. The basic consideration is then introduced that any material system is an open system in permanent contact with the random zero-point radiation field, with which it may reach a state of equilibrium. Working from this basis, a comprehensive and self-consistent theoretical framework is then developed. The pillars of the quantum-mechanical formalism are derived, as well as the radiative corrections of nonrelativistic QED, while revealing the underlying physical mechanisms. The genesis of some of the central features of quantum theory is elucidated, such as atomic stability, the spin of the electron, quantum fluctuations, quantum nonlocality and entanglement. The theory developed here reaffirms fundamental scientific principles such as realism, causality, locality and objectivity.
![]() Free Download The Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen Paradox in Atomic, Nuclear, and Particle Physics by Alexander Afriat , Franco Selleri English | PDF | 1999 | 256 Pages | ISBN : 0306458934 | 20.3 MB "Paradox" conjures up arrows and tortoises. But it has a speculative, gedanken ring: no one would dream of really conjuring up Achilles to confirm that he catches the tortoise. The paradox of Einstein, Podolsky, and Rosen, however, is capable of empirical test. Attempted experimental resolutions have involved photons, but these are not detected often enough to settle the matter. Kaons are easier to detect and will soon be used to discriminate between quantum mechanics and local realism. The existence ofan objective physical reality, which had disappeared behind the impressive formalism of quantum mechanics, was originally intended to be the central issue of the paradox; locality, like the mathematics used, was just assumed to hold. Quantum mechanics, with its incompatible measurements, was born rather by chance in an atmosphere of great positivistic zeal, in which only the obviously measurable had scientific respectability. Speculation about occult "unobservable" quantities was viewed as vacuous metaphysics, which should surely form no part of a mature scientific attitude. Soon the "unmeasurable, " once only disreputable, vanished altogether. One had first been told not to worry about it; then, as dogma got more carefully defined, one was assured that the unobserved was just not there. This made it easier not to think about it and to avoid hazardous metaphysical temptation.
![]() Free Download The Dynamic Transformation of China's Economic Development Under the New Normal by Wen Xiao , Jiadong Pan , Hao Chen English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 188 Pages | ISBN : 9819709555 | 6.9 MB This book aims to reveal the dynamic mechanism of China's economic system innovation. It measures the efficiency of China's economic growth under the New Normal with the tools of DEA, SFA, and PCA. The book analyzes the contribution of capital, labor, and productivity to China's economic growth by Solow residual value method and the power source of China's economic development under the New Normal. In this book, it adopts the vertical integration of logical thinking, combined with the horizontal diversification of topics, to show a brand-new research method. ![]() Free Download The Discovery of Isotopes: A Complete Compilation by Michael Thoennessen English | PDF (True) | 2016 | 413 Pages | ISBN : 331931761X | 12.4 MB This book describes the exciting discovery of every isotope observed on earth to date, which currently numbers some 3000. The discoveries are arranged in chapters according to the observation techniques or production methods. Each chapter contains tables listing the first authors of the first publication as well as details about the production and detection methods used. At the end, a comprehensive table lists all isotopes sorted by elements. The book is based on individual paragraphs for each isotope, which were published over the last few years as separate articles in the journal "Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables". The work re-evaluates all prior assignments judging them with a uniform set of criteria. In addition, the author includes over 100 new isotopes which have been discovered since the articles published. ![]() Free Download The Digital Finance Era: A Journey Through Fintech and Cryptocurrency by Babak Naysary , Amine Tarazi English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 255 Pages | ISBN : 9819739691 | 5.2 MB This book provides a thorough introduction of fintech in general and cryptocurrencies in particular.
