![]() Free Download Robotics Research: The 18th International Symposium ISRR by Nancy M. Amato English | EPUB (True) | 2020 | 1058 Pages | ISBN : 3030286185 | 193 MB ISRR, the "International Symposium on Robotics Research", is one of robotics pioneering Symposia, which has established over the past two decades some of the field's most fundamental and lasting contributions. This book presents the results of the eighteenth edition of "Robotics Research" ISRR15, offering a collection of a broad range of topics in robotics. This symposium took place in Puerto Varas, Chile from December 11th to December 14th, 2017. The content of the contributions provides a wide coverage of the current state of robotics research, the advances and challenges in its theoretical foundation and technology basis, and the developments in its traditional and new emerging areas of applications. The diversity, novelty, and span of the work unfolding in these areas reveal the field's increased maturity and expanded scope and define the state of the art of robotics and its future direction. ![]() Free Download Robotic Object Recognition Using Vision and Touch by Peter K. Allen English | PDF | 1987 | 179 Pages | ISBN : 0898382459 | 17.2 MB This work describes a multi-sensor system for robotic object recogni- tion tasks that integrates passive stereo vision and active, exploratory tactile sensing. The complementary nature of these sensing modalities allows the system to discover the underlying 3-D structure of the objects to be recog- nized. This structure is embodied in rich, hierarchical, viewpoint- independent 3-D models of the objects which include curved surfaces, con- cavities and holes. The vision processing provides sparse 3-D data about regions of interest that are then actively explored by the tactile sensor which is mounted on the end of a robotic manipulator. A robust hierarchical pro- cedure has been developed to integrate the visual and tactile data into accu- rate 3-D surface and feature primitives. This integration of vision and touch provides geometric measures of the surfaces and features that are used in a matching phase to find model objects that are consistent with the sensory data. Methods for verification of the hypothesis are presented, including the sensing of visually occluded areas with the tactile sensor. A number of experiments have been performed using real sensors and real, noisy data to demonstrate the utility of these methods and the ability of such a system to recognize objects that would be difficult for a system using vision alone. ![]() Free Download Robotic Grasping and Fine Manipulation by Mark R. Cutkosky English | PDF | 1985 | 190 Pages | ISBN : 1468468936 | 13.1 MB When a person picks up a metal part and clamps it in the chuck of a lathe, he begins with his arm, proceeds with his wrist and finishes with his fingers. The arm brings the part near the chuck. The wrist positions the part, giving it the proper orientation to slide in. After the part is inserted, the wrist and fingers make tiny corrections to ensure that it is correctly seated. Today's robot attempting the same operations is at a grave disadvantage if it has to make all motions with the arm. The following work investigates the use of robotic wrists and hands to help industrial robots perform the fine motions needed in a metal working cell. Chapters 1 and 2 are an introduction to the field and a review of previous investigations on related subjects. Little work has been done on grasping and fine manipulation with a robot hand or wrist, but the related subjects of robot arm dynamics and control have an extensive literature. ![]() Free Download RoboCup 2022: Robot World Cup XXV by Amy Eguchi, Nuno Lau, Maike Paetzel-Prüsmann, Thanapat Wanichanon English | PDF,EPUB | 2023 | 360 Pages | ISBN : 3031284682 | 102.5 MB This book constitutes the proceedings of the 25th RoboCup International Symposium which was held online during July 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand. ![]() Free Download Rob|Arch 2012: Robotic Fabrication in Architecture, Art and Design by Sigrid Brell-Çokcan, Johannes Braumann English | PDF (True) | 2012 | 321 Pages | ISBN : 3709114640 | 42.7 MB This volume collects about 20 contributions on the topic of robotic construction methods. It is a proceedings volume of the robarch2012 symposium and workshop, which will take place in December 2012 in Vienna. Contributions will explore the current status quo in industry, science and practitioners. The symposium will be held as a biennial event. This book is to be the first of the series, comprising the current status of robotics in architecture, art and design. ![]() Free Download River Ice Processes and Ice Flood Forecasting: A Guide for Practitioners and Students by Karl-Erich Lindenschmidt English | EPUB | 2020 | 275 Pages | ISBN : 3030286789 | 111.2 MB This book exposes practitioners and students to the theory and application of river and lake ice processes to gain a better understanding of these processes for modelling and forecasting. It focuses on the following processes of the surface water ice: freeze-up, ice cover thickening, ice cover breakup and ice jamming. ![]() Free Download Retraction Matters: New Developments in the Philosophy of Language by Dan Zeman, Mihai Hîncu English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 237 Pages | ISBN : 3031660803 | 8.9 MB This book offers the first sustained investigation of the phenomenon of retraction - the "taking back" of the conventional or deontic effects of a previous speech act - bringing together issues and solutions from the semantics of perspectival expressions and from the framework of Speech Act theory. It addresses questions that have been at the center of lively debates in philosophy of language and linguistics, but also draws out some of the ramifications these questions have for certain debates in the logic of discourse, philosophy of mind or experimental philosophy. ![]() Free Download Rethinking Stormwater Management through Sustainable Urban Design by Ali Cheshmehzangi, Maycon Sedrez, Andrew Flynn English | PDF EPUB( True) | 2024 | 337 Pages | ISBN : 9819749239 | 170.1 MB This book provides a different narrative and approach to rethinking stormwater management through sustainable urban design. It delves into design interventions and innovative strategies that lead to solving context-specific issues of flooding, water scarcity, etc. Starting with an overarching introduction and discussion on stormwater management research, the book then primarily focuses on sustainable urban design practices, strategies, and policy guidelines. ![]() Free Download Resilient Urban Environments: Planning for Livable Cities by Runming Yao English | PDF (True) | 2024 | 389 Pages | ISBN : 3031554817 | 17.4 MB This book aims to provide evidence of the impact of climate change and urbanization on cities' urban environments thus on human health and wellbeing; and principles and methods for the improvement of the resilience of a city to extreme weather and long-term climatic changes through case studies.
