![]() Free Download Access to Mental Health Care in South Asia: Current Status, Potential Challenges, and Ways Out by S. M. Yasir Arafat, Sujita Kumar Kar English | PDF (True) | 2024 | 247 Pages | ISBN : 9819991528 | 5.1 MB This book is about access to mental health care in South Asia. South Asia consists of eight countries with low and middle-income backgrounds. The region contains a combined population of about 2 billion, making up about a quarter of the global population. The people of this region share common cultures, beliefs, and behavioral patterns regarding physical and mental health. Among them, about 15% (about 300 million) have been suffering from common mental disorders. However, there is a persisting high treatment gap for mental illness in the region. Hence, despite having a mental illness, only a small percentage of the population is able to have access to essential mental healthcare. Though governments are trying to bridge the gap by improving mental health policies and programs, it is still a major challenge delivering mental healthcare to all people in need. Due to the income category and dual disease burden of the countries, there are some additional enduring challenges like poor funding and research, inadequate and inequitable manpower, huge out-of-pocket expenses, poor mental health literacy, income disparity, and high stigma. This book aims to highlight the issues related to accessing mental health services in a densely populated low and middle-income setting. This book is the first of its kind in comparing and contrasting the delivery status of mental health services in South Asian countries.

P. Gokarn English | PDF EPUB (True) | 421 Pages | ISBN : 9819706246 | 46.2 MB This book presents various aspects of Ship Manoeuvrability in a form that can be understood without undue effort. Beginning with the equations of motion, the book describes the main manoeuvring mathematical models with their application in the numerical simulation of various manoeuvres. The other topics covered in the book range from manoeuvring model tests and full-scale trials through rudder hydrodynamics and design to manoeuvring standards and guidelines. This book also discusses ship autopilots and dynamic positioning. Finally, it provides a description of unconventional rudders and propulsion devices used for manoeuvring. The book has more than 180 figures to explain various concepts and 40 exercises with partial solutions to confirm that the reader has understood the subject. The book also includes recent developments in the subject and can be a valuable reference for beginners, researchers, and professionals interested in the field.

Westphal English | PDF | 1968 | 361 Pages | ISBN : N/A | 37.2 MB This book is a translation of the 6th to 8th edition of the author's Kleines Lehrbuch der Physik. The circle of readers to which it hopes to appeal and the author's purpose in writing it have been set out in the Preface to the first German edition, published in 1948. The present book consistently follows the principles of the theory of quantities, the beginnings of which date back to James C. Maxwell. This means that in all equations in this book the symbols invariably stand for physical quantities and not for the numerical values of quantities. Only then are the equations gene rally valid and independent of the choice of units used in their evaluation. The units used are always the "metric" units which have been gaining ground increasingly also in the English-speaking countries. A conversion table for some of the more important Anglo-American units is given on page XIV. I would like to record my sincere gratitude to Mr. Ewald Osers for his pains taking work in making this translation and to Mr. P. C. Banbury, Ph. D., of the Department of Physics, University of Reading, England, both for the advice he has given hirn throughout and for devising the problems specially for this edition. |
