Music Beyond Airports Appraising Ambient Music
Free Download Monty Adkins, "Music Beyond Airports: Appraising Ambient Music"
English | ISBN: 1862181616 | 2019 | 234 pages | AZW3 | 438 KB
This collection of essays has been assembled and developed from papers given at the Ambient@40 International Conference held in February 2018 at the University of Huddersfield. The original premise of the conference was not merely to celebrate Eno s work and the landmark release of Music for Airports in 1978, but to consider the development of the genre, how it has permeated our wider musical culture, and what the role of such music is today given the societal changes that have occurred since the release of that album. In the context of the conference, ambient was considered from the perspectives of aesthetic, influence, appropriation, process, strategy and activity. A detailed consideration of each of these topics could fill many volumes. With that in mind, this book does not seek to provide an in-depth analysis of each of these topics or a comprehensive history of the last 40 years of ambient music. Rather it provides a series of provocations, observations and reflections that each open up seams for further discussion. As such, this book should be read as a starting point for future research, one that seeks to critically interrogate the very meaning of ambient , how it creates its effect, and how the genre can remain vital and relevant in twenty-first century music-making.

Music After Deleuze
Free Download Edward Campbell, "Music After Deleuze "
English | ISBN: 1441101810 | 2014 | 208 pages | AZW3 | 778 KB
Music After Deleuze explores how Deleuzian concepts offer interesting ways of thinking about a wide range of musics. The concepts of difference, identity and repetition offer novel approaches to Western art music from Beethoven to Boulez and Bernhard Lang as well as jazz improvisation, popular and sacred music. The concepts of the 'rhizome', the 'assemblage' and the 'refrain' enable us to think of the specificity of musical works as the meeting of productive forces, for example in the contemporary opera of Dusapin and the experimental music theatre of Aperghis. The concepts of smooth and striated space form the starting point for musical and political reflections on pitch in Western and Eastern music. Deleuze's notion of time as multiple illumines the distinctive conceptions of musical time found in Debussy, Messiaen, Boulez, Carter and Grisey. Finally, the innovative semiotic theory forged in Deleuze-Guattarian philosophy offers valuable insights for a semiotics capable of engaging with the innovative, molecular music of Lachenmann, Aperghis and Levinas.

The poem, which is probably the most ambitious and least understood work of Depression-era American verse, commemorates the worst industrial accident in U.S. history, the Gauley Tunnel tragedy. In this terrible disaster, an undetermined number of men-likely somewhere between 700 and 800-died of acute silicosis, a lung disorder caused by prolonged inhalation of silica dust, after working on a tunnel project in Fayette County, West Virginia, in the early 1930s.

Multivariate Statistical Modeling in Engineering and Management
Free Download Jhareswar Maiti, "Multivariate Statistical Modeling in Engineering and Management"
English | 2022 | ISBN: 1466564369 | PDF | pages: 636 | 17.5 mb
The book focuses on problem solving for practitioners and model building for academicians under multivariate situations. This book helps readers in understanding the issues, such as knowing variability, extracting patterns, building relationships, and making objective decisions. A large number of multivariate statistical models are covered in the book. The readers will learn how a practical problem can be converted to a statistical problem and how the statistical solution can be interpreted as a practical solution.

Multivariable and Vector Calculus An Introduction
Free Download Multivariable and Vector Calculus: An Introduction by David A. Santos, Sarhan M. Musa
English | January 8, 2015 | ISBN: 1936420287 | 450 pages | MOBI | 12 Mb
This book is designed primarily for undergraduates in mathematics, engineering, and the physical sciences. Rather than concentrating on technical skills, it focuses on a deeper understanding of the subject by providing many unusual and challenging examples. The basic topics of vector geometry, differentiation and integration in several variables are explored. It also provides numerous computer illustrations and tutorials using MATLAB® and Maple®, that bridge the gap between analysis and computation.

Multiculturalism in Practice Irish, Jewish, Italian and Pakistani Migration to Scotland
Free Download Suzanne Audrey, "Multiculturalism in Practice: Irish, Jewish, Italian and Pakistani Migration to Scotland"
English | 2017 | ISBN: 0754615111, 1138737801 | ASIN: B0772XNSYT | EPUB | pages: 270 | 1.2 mb
This title was first published in 2000. Patterns of racism and disadvantage vary throughout Britain, yet most British research continues to focus on data from England and Wales. This Scottish study allows distinctions to emerge which contribute to our understanding of the complex processes of discrimination and integration. Looking first at the history of Irish, Jewish and Italian migration to Scotland, attention is then focused on the Pakistani population. Whilst acknowledging the persistence of racism, the author uses original quantitative and qualitative data to examine the ways in which immigrants and their descendants assert their priorities. The book questions whether focusing on minority ethnic groups as victims of racism is the most effective strategy in undermining exclusionary practices.

Multibeam Phased Array Antennas as Satellite Constellation Ground Station (Modern Antenna)
Free Download Multibeam Phased Array Antennas as Satellite Constellation Ground Station (Modern Antenna) by Guolong He, Xin Gao, Rentian Zhang
English | November 22, 2023 | ISBN: 9819979099 | 113 pages | MOBI | 16 Mb
This book focuses on the multi-beam phased array antenna as a satellite ground station. As there are already many excellent books on phased array antennas in the literature, this book focuses mainly on some engineering practices and fills the gap between principles and practices, such as array excitation error impact analysis and calibration methods, array geometry design for hemispherical coverage, multiple beam resource management, etc. This book is particularly suitable for readers interested in satellite constellation design or satellite ground station design. This book also benefits researchers and engineers in the fields of phased array antennas, aerospace engineering, telecommunications, etc.
