Free Download Transnational Influences on Values and Practices in Nordic Educational Leadership: Is there a Nordic Model? By Lejf Moos (auth.), Lejf Moos (eds.) 2013 | 228 Pages | ISBN: 9400762259 | PDF | 2 MB This book explores to what extent transnational influences change national/local values and practices in the Nordic educational systems. It provides country cases and thematic chapters that give nuanced insights into the influence of transnational agencies on national governance and discourses. It describes how national discourses and regulation influences school leadership values, culture and practice, in competition with traditional values. The transnational and global discourse on educational leadership is mostly formed according to Anglo-American thinking and tradition. Pivotal foundations of this discourse are strong hierarchical societies/class societies with liberal democracies, and clearly streamed education systems. The Nordic discourse, however, builds on a more equal society and flat hierarchies with participatory democracy, and on comprehensive schooling with strong local community roots. Leadership thinking and practices are formed by the culture and context they are part of: they are primarily shaped by the national/local values, traditions and practices, and only partially shaped by politics, discourses and literature. Due to the fact that a great deal of the literature that is being used in the Nordic contexts is of Anglo-American origin and many of the research projects have Anglo-American foundations, it is difficult to distinguish the sources for leadership thinking and practice. This book distinguishes the Nordic from the Anglo-American thinking and presents important findings and arguments for leadership practitioners inside as well as outside the Nordic countries. Free Download Transient Receptor Potential (TRP) Channels By V. Flockerzi (auth.), Prof. Dr. Veit Flockerzi, Prof. Dr. Bernd Nilius (eds.) 2007 | 623 Pages | ISBN: 3540348891 | PDF | 8 MB In this fast moving field the main goal of this volume is to provide up-to-date information on the molecular and functional properties and pharmacology of mammalian TRP channels. Leading experts in the field have written 35 essays which describe properties of a single TRP protein/channel or portray more general principles of TRP function and important pathological situations linked to mutations of TRP genes or their altered expression. Thereby this volume on Transient Receptor Potential (TRP) Channels provides valuable information for readers with different expectations and backgrounds, for those who are approaching this field of research as well as for those wanting to make a trip to TRPs, from pharmacologists and physiologists to medical doctors, other scientists, students and lecturers. It fills a gap between pharmacology textbooks and latest manuscripts in scientific periodicals.
Free Download Transformational Analysis in Practice: Music-analytical Studies on Composers and Musicians From Around the World by Chapkanov, Bozhidar; English | 2024 | ISBN: 1648897541 | 369 pages | True PDF | 21.85 MB Free Download Transcultural Areas By Dr. Wolfgang Berg (auth.), Dr. Wolfgang Berg (eds.) 2011 | 123 Pages | ISBN: 3531182811 | PDF | 2 MB Based on culture as a complex system of rules it is too obvious that each rule has a particular range which is only exceptionally congruent with national or natural borders. In general, cultural exchange is not limited by political borders or rivers, forests, seas, or mountains. Those areas are rather transcultural, which is especially true for markets and towns. Dealing with cities like Buenos Aires or Riga, regions like Podlachia (Poland), Northern Ireland, or Bukovina, and the area of the Danube river the case studies give evidence for this thesis. The book will be of interest to researchers and students in the fields of cultural and intercultural studies. Free Download Transactional Perspectives on Occupation By Malcolm P. Cutchin, Virginia A. Dickie (auth.), Malcolm P. Cutchin, Virginia A. Dickie (eds.) 2013 | 268 Pages | ISBN: 9400744285 | PDF | 2 MB An occupation is, most simply put, any activity we participate in that engages (occupies) our attention, interests, and/or expectations, at any point throughout the life course. This book offers an emerging and innovative perspective on occupation, based in the work of American philosopher John Dewey and other pragmatists, that challenges accepted ideas. Each chapter presents a lively and multifaceted dialogue on transactional perspectives on occupation. Scholars from Europe, North America, and Australasia have written a diverse set of arguments and case studies about occupation, covering theoretical, methodological and applied issues relevant to the topic. In addition, contributors make connections with significant authors from various disciplines that make clearer the roles of occupation and occupational science across many cultures and contexts. The transactional perspectives articulated in this book both implicitly and explicitly suggest that occupations are forms of activity that create and re-create a multitude of our relationships with the world. Often taken for granted by some academic disciplines, occupation is a core element of human life. This book is a provocative and critical analysis of the focal concept for occupational therapy and science.
