Molecular Mechanisms of Basal Cell and Squamous Cell Carcinomas
Free Download Molecular Mechanisms of Basal Cell and Squamous Cell Carcinomas By Jörg Reichrath (auth.)
2006 | 137 Pages | ISBN: 0387260463 | PDF | 5 MB
apid progress in the understanding of carcinogenesis and pathology of epitheUal skin cancer has led to new strategies for the prevention Rand treatment of these malignancies. The goal of this volume is to comprehensively cover in a highly readable overview our present knowledge of pathogenetic mechanisms and molecular biology of Basal Cell and Squamous Cell Carcinomas. Topics that are discussed in-depth by leading researchers and clinicians range from the newest findings in epidemiology, histology, photobiology, immunology, cytogenetics, and molecular pathol ogy to new concepts for prophylaxis and treatment. Experts in the field as well as health care professionals not intimately involved in these specialized areas are provided with the most significant and timely information related to these topics. It is the aim of this book to summarize essential up-to-date information for clinicians and scientists interested in the biology of Basal Cell and Squamous Cell Carcinomas. The chapters are written by authors who are experts in their respective research areas, and I am gratefixl for their willingness to contribute to this book. I would also like to express my thanks to Ron Landes, Cynthia Conomos, Sara Lord and all the other members of the Landes Bioscience staff for their expertise, diligence and patience in helping me complete this work. Metals in Society and in the Environment A Critical Review of Current Knowledge on Fluxes, Speciation, Bioavailability and Ris
Free Download Metals in Society and in the Environment: A Critical Review of Current Knowledge on Fluxes, Speciation, Bioavailability and Risk for Adverse Effects of Copper, Chromium, Nickel and Zinc By Lars Landner, Rudolf Reuther (auth.)
2005 | 407 Pages | ISBN: 1402027400 | PDF | 3 MB
In 2002, the Swedish Metal Information Task Force (MITF) engaged the Environmental Research Group (MFG) to update previous monographs on copper, zinc and major alloying metals (such as chromium, nickel and molybdenum) in society and in the environment. This book presents new results on metal fluxes from society to the environment, on metal speciation in water, soil and sediment, and its interpretation in terms of mobility, biological uptake and toxicity. The scientific fundamentals of new approaches, like the Acid Volatile Sulphide (AVS) concept to predict metal bioavailability in sediments, and the Biotic Ligand Model (BLM) to calculate the toxicity of metals to aquatic organisms, are critically evaluated, with a focus on copper, nickel, zinc, and, in part, chromium.Recent scientific advances now offer an improved understanding of the mechanisms and factors controlling the intricate behaviour of trace metals, their interactions, uptake and effect in natural systems. Traditional risk assessment methods usually built on quite crude toxicity tests done in unrealistic "laboratory waters", and did not consider natural conditions. In contrast, modern approaches now increasingly involve the full utilisation of site-specific factors, which are decisive for the formation of bioavailable and toxic metal forms. AudienceThis book provides excellent guidance to both scientists focusing on the assessment of the ecological risk of metals, and to authorities, decision makers in industry, educational staff and the interested public concerned with the occurrence and fate of trace metals.

Mastering Knowledge Management Using Microsoft Technologies
Free Download Mastering Knowledge Management Using Microsoft Technologies: Secrets to Leveraging Microsoft 365 and Becoming a Knowledge Management Guru by Tori Reddy Dodla
English | May 29, 2024 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B0CZPK6Y9W | 265 pages | PDF | 5.47 Mb
For companies and individuals already using Microsoft365 and other Microsoft technologies, this book is designed to reveal how to fully utilize these platforms for effective Knowledge Management without needing to rely on additional third-party tools. It addresses a common issue where organizations find themselves with overlapping technology capabilities for managing knowledge. This situation arises because many companies are not fully aware of the capabilities they already possess within their existing Microsoft tools. Knowledge management firms capitalize on this gap by offering white-labeled, branded applications with user-friendly interfaces, selling them to companies that could achieve the same results with what they already own, if only they knew how to use them properly. By mastering the use of Microsoft technologies for Knowledge Management, organizations can save significant amounts of money that would otherwise be spent on unnecessary external solutions.
