Free Download Takao Shimomura, "Easy Enjoyable Effective E-Learning" English | ISBN: 1604566345 | 2009 | pages | PDF | 13 MB This book illustrates an "Easy", "Enjoyable", "Effective" e-Learning system called "Apty" (Automated Practice & Test System). Today, the Internet is just as available in homes as it is in companies, schools and anywhere else where broad-band communication lines are available. This establishes the social environments for e-Learning. However, under present circumstances, e-Learning systems cannot be used without conditions. The spread of e-Learning in elementary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools, colleges and universities is not wide enough. There are a number of issues with current e-learning systems: there are difficulties in installing and administering e-Learning systems; the development of courseware is time-consuming; educators are often forced to use ready-made products; student-users need to perform several operations to reach their desired page of interest because of the complexity of current e-Learning systems; and finally, quality e-Learning systems are costly. This book is divided into three parts: Introduction, Advanced, and Expert. The introduction part explains the general functions of the Apty system. Although the Advanced and Expert parts may require background information in certain cases, nearly all functions of the Apty system can be utilised according to the instructions outlined in this book. The Apty system is "enjoyable". Students can enjoy studying with the Apty system. The system randomly chooses questions from the pool of those previously created and stored. Each time students log in, they can practice a few new questions in a short time. In practice drills and examinations that consist of a series of short quizzes, those top ten scores appear in a subject home page, and anyone can view these scores without logging in. Since the top ten practice scores can be summarised for each week or even for each day, it is possible for anyone to get the top score. The order of the top ten scores changes very often. This can encourage students to study hard by competing with each other. Free Download K. The book focuses on giving teachers a better understanding of literacy development and how to effectively support children as they begin to read and write. The authors' interactive strategies approach is designed around essential instructional goals related both to learning to identify words and to comprehending text. Assessment and instructional strategies for whole-class, small-group, and one-to-one settings are discussed in depth. Numerous reproducible forms for documenting student learning are included.
Free Download Dynamic Competitive Analysis in Marketing: Proceedings of the International Workshop on Dynamic Competitive Analysis in Marketing, Montréal, Canada, September 1-2, 1995 By Michèle Breton, Abdelwahab Yezza, Georges Zaccour (auth.), Prof. Dr. Steffen Jørgensen, Prof. Dr. Georges Zaccour (eds.) 1996 | 285 Pages | ISBN: 3540616136 | PDF | 17 MB This volume contains a selection of papers that were presented at the International Workshop on Dynamic Competitive Analysis, held in Montr6al, Canada, September 1-2, 1995. The workshop was organized by the editors of the proceedings volume. The proceedings contain both "full papers" and shorter pieces, to be considered as "work in progress". The choice of a rather broad theme for the workshop was deliberate and done in order to attract researchers from different areas of the marketing science community that usually do not get together. Obviously, a volume like this cannot be exhaustive in the coverage of the dynamics of marketing competition but we are confident that it will convey to the reader an impression of what are the current themes in this field of research. The book should be useful to researchers in marketing science, applied game theorists, graduate students, as well as practitioners in marketing with an interest in methods and examples of dynamic competitive analysis. Free Download Dismantlement and Destruction of Chemical, Nuclear and Conventional Weapons By Javier Solana (auth.), Nancy Turtle Schulte (eds.) 1997 | 246 Pages | ISBN: 9048148170 | PDF | 24 MB The end ofthe Cold War opened unprecedented opportunities for reductions in weapons of mass destruction. With these opportunities came new challenges, both scientific and political. Traditionally approached by different groups, the scientific, technical and political challenges are inextricably intertwined. Agreements to dismantle and destroy chemical, nuclear and conventional weapons, after having been negotiated via diplomatic channels, require the expertise of scientists associated with their development to determine the safest and most environmentally sound methods of destruction. It is in this context that representatives from sixteen countries and five international organizations were convened jointly by NATO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany and the State Government of North Rhine Westphalia 19-21 May, 1996 in a meeting near Bonn to take stock of worldwide efforts to destroy and dismantle chemical, nuclear and conventional weapons remaining after the end ofthe Cold War. NATO support was provided under the auspices of the NATO Science Committee's Panel on Disarmament Technologies. The conference brought together the major actors involved in the dismantlement and destruction of chemical, nuclear and conventional weapons, highlighted the substantial accomplishments achieved in this area and pinpointed the remaining technical obstacles still to be overcome. It also underlined the critical importance of transparency, data exchange and verification as indispensable preconditions for disarmament and cooperative security. Free Download Friedrich Klein, "Dietary Fiber, Fruit and Vegetable Consumption and Health " English | ISBN: 1608760251 | 2010 | 251 pages | PDF | 6 MB Fruits are an excellent source of essential vitamins, minerals, and dietary fibre in the human diet. They are also a rich source of secondary metabolites that are proving to play an important role in the protection against numerous chronic diseases. These substances are almost ubiquitous in plant-derived foods and inherently have more subtle effects than nutrients. This book explores the different processing methods used in the food industry, which may modify their contents, structure, and biological activity in humans. In addition, the relationships between dietary fibres and gut motility are explored since dietary fibres carry out many physiological functions in the gastrointestinal tract aimed at health preservation. This book also summarises recent progressions on the use of in vitro models to study health effects of dietary fibres and other nutrients using in vitro colon cell models. In addition, epidemiological studies evidence that plant-based food play a crucial role in the prevention of diseases. The authors highlight the potential of tropical and temperate fruits as sources of dietary fibre with associated antioxidant compounds. Other chapters in this book examine the fruit and vegetable consumption, physical activity levels and body mass index among teenagers, explore new dietary strategies to reduce cardiovascular disease (CVD) and discuss the potential of using alternative dietary assessment methods for researches of dietary fibre colorectal cancer. |
