Free Download Dusty and Self-Gravitational Plasmas in Space By Pavel Bliokh, Victor Sinitsin, Victoria Yaroshenko (auth.) 1995 | 250 Pages | ISBN: 9048144450 | PDF | 8 MB The diverse and often surprising new facts about planetary rings and comet environments that were reported by the interplanetary missions oflate 1970s - 1980s stimulated investigations of the so-called dusty plasma. The number of scientific papers on the subject that have been published since is quite impressive. Recently, a few surveys and special journal issues have appeared. Time has come to integrate some of the knowledge in a book. Apparently, this is the first monograph on dusty and self-gravitational plasmas. While the circle of pertinent problems is rather clearly defined, not all of them are equally represented here. The authors have concentrated on cooperative phenomena (Le. waves and instabilities) in the dusty plasma and the effects of self-gravitation. At the same time, in an attempt to present the vast material consistently, we have included such topics as electrostatics of the dusty plasma and gravitoelectrodynamics of individual charged particles. Also mentioned are astrophysical implications, mostly concerning planetary rings. We hope that the book shall be of interest and value both to specialists and those (astro )physicists who have just discovered this area of plasma physics. We are thankful to many scientists actively working in the field of dusty plasma physics who have generously let us become acquainted with their results, sometimes prior to publication of their own papers: U. de Angelis, N. D'Angelo, o. Havnes, A. Mendis, M. Rosenberg, P. Shukla, F. Verheest, and E. Wollman. Free Download Isabel Moreira, "Dreams, Visions, and Spiritual Authority in Merovingian Gaul" English | ISBN: 0801436613 | 2000 | 288 pages | PDF | 31 MB In early medieval Europe, dreams and visions were believed to reveal divine information about Christian life and the hereafter. No consensus existed, however, as to whether all Christians, or only a spiritual elite, were entitled to have a relationship of this sort with the supernatural. Drawing on a rich variety of sources―histories, hagiographies, ascetic literature, and records of dreams at saints' shrines―Isabel Moreira provides insight into a society struggling to understand and negotiate its religious visions. Dawn Grapes English | 2024 | ISBN: 0197558852 | 281 Pages | PDF | 15.4 MB Free Download Double-Gyroid-Structured Functional Materials: Synthesis and Applications By Maik Rudolf Johann Scherer (auth.) 2013 | 198 Pages | ISBN: 3319003534 | PDF | 10 MB The development of new high-tech applications and devices has created a seemingly insatiable demand for novel functional materials with enhanced and tailored properties. Such materials can be achieved by three-dimensional structuring on the nanoscale, giving rise to a significant enhancement of particular functional characteristics which stems from the ability to access both surface/interface and bulk properties. The highly ordered, bicontinuous double-gyroid morphology is a fascinating and particularly suitable 3D nanostructure for this purpose due to its highly accessible surface area, connectivity, narrow pore diameter distribution and superb structural stability. The presented study encompasses a wide range of modern nanotechnology techniques in a highly versatile bottom-up nanopatterning strategy that splits the fabrication process into two successive steps: the preparation of mesoporous double-gyroid templates utilizing diblock copolymer self-assembly, and their replication with a functional material employing electrochemical deposition and atomic layer deposition. The double-gyroid structured materials discussed include metals, metal oxides, and conjugated polymers, which are applied and characterized in high-performance devices, such as electrochromic displays, supercapacitors, chemical sensors and photovoltaics. This publication addresses a wide range of readers, from researchers and specialists who are professionally active in the field, to more general readers interested in chemistry, nanoscience and physics.
