Free Download Verena Fritz, "State-building: A Comparative Study of Ukraine, Lithuania, Belarus, and Russia" English | 2007 | pages: 392 | ISBN: 9637326901 | PDF | 4,2 mb Looks at the process of state-building in Ukraine, Lithuania, Belarus, and Russia from a political economy and institutional perspective. Weak and distorted state capacity has come to be widely recognized as a key obstacle to successful transformation―including economic modernization and growth as well as the consolidation of democracy. However, so far little systematic research has been carried out on state capacity per se and on how to explain its development. Free Download Susanna Trnka, "State of Suffering: Political Violence and Community Survival in Fiji" English | ISBN: 0801446406 | 2008 | 224 pages | PDF | 29 MB How do ordinary people respond when their lives are irrevocably altered by terror and violence? Susanna Trnka was residing in an Indo-Fijian village in the year 2000 during the Fijian nationalist coup. The overthrow of the elected multiethnic party led to six months of nationalist aggression, much of which was directed toward Indo-Fijians. In State of Suffering, Trnka shows how Indo-Fijians' lives were overturned as waves of turmoil and destruction swept across Fiji. Free Download State Administrative Law in Indonesia by M. Free Download Manveen Singh, "Standard-Setting Organisations' IPR Policies: Intellectual Property and Competition Issues" English | 2022 | ISBN: 9811926220, 9811926255 | PDF | pages: 227 | 5.1 mb This book offers a unique insight into the world of standard-setting organizations (SSOs)' IPR policies and the role they play in balancing the interests of innovators and implementers, vis-à-vis the development of standards. Since the beginning of the 21st century, there have been quite a few questions asked of the SSOs as to the legality of their IPR policies and the enforceability of disclosure and licensing obligations enshrined therein. That, coupled with disagreements over the appropriate royalty rate and royalty base, has resulted in extensive litigation between innovators and implementers, especially across the Atlantic. The Book, in keeping the USA and EU as the two primary jurisdictions, offers a comprehensive analysis of the disclosure and licensing obligations under SSO IPR policies, with strong theoretical foundations justifying their imposition. More specifically, it offers a bird's eye view of the various facets of disclosure and licensing, ranging from non-disclosure and transparency on one hand, to the determination of FRAND on the other. Free Download Astrid Oesmann, "Staging History: Brecht's Social Concepts Of Ideology" English | 2005 | pages: 243 | ISBN: 0791463850, 0791463869 | PDF | 0,9 mb Staging History analyzes the commitment to social change present in the theatrical and theoretical writings of Bertolt Brecht. Challenging previous notions, Astrid Oesmann argues that Brecht's work was less dependent on Marxist ideology than is often assumed and that his work should be seen as a coherent whole. Brecht used the stage to release political ideas into experimental spaces in which actors and spectators could explore the relationships between abstract thought and concrete social life. Oesmann places Brecht within the context of the major leftist theorists of the twentieth century, particularly Adorno, Benjamin, and Lukàcs, focusing on their discussions of realism, aesthetics, natural history, and mimesis. Oesmann elaborates upon the vision of a "counter-public sphere" in a number of Brecht's theoretical texts and plays-especially The Three Penny Trial and Fear and Misery of the Third Reich-that present the emergence of such a sphere in the face of fascism. By exploring Brecht's theoretical writings, selected plays, and recently published theatrical fragments, Oesmann reveals unpredictable constructions of history and surprising distinctions among various political ideologies, while also proving that Brecht remains vitally relevant to a "post-communist" world.
Free Download Stability Loss and Buckling Delamination: Three-Dimensional Linearized Approach for Elastic and Viscoelastic Composites By Surkay Akbarov (auth.) 2013 | 450 Pages | ISBN: 3642302890 | PDF | 8 MB This book investigates stability loss problems of the viscoelastic composite materials and structural members within the framework of the Three-Dimensional Linearized Theory of Stability (TDLTS). The stability loss problems are considered the development of the initial infinitesimal imperfection in the structure of the material or of the structural members. This development is studied within the framework of the Three-Dimensional Geometrical Non-Linear Theory of the Deformable Solid Body Mechanics. The solution to the corresponding boundary-value problems is presented in the series form in the small parameter which characterizes the degree of the initial imperfection. In this way, the nonlinear problems for the domains bounded by noncanonical surfaces are reduced for the same nonlinear problem for the corresponding domains bounded by canonical surfaces and the series subsequent linearized problems. It is proven that the equations and relations of these linearized problems coincide with the corresponding ones of the well-known TDLTS. Under concrete investigations as stability loss criterion the case is taken for the initial infinitesimal imperfection that starts to increase indefinitely. Moreover, it is proven that the critical parameters can be determined by the use of only the zeroth and first approximations.

The next chapter analyzes the relationship between spirituality and psychological well-being. The athors focus on agnostics and undecided people who lie between theists as certain believers and atheists as certain non-believers. The authors also assess how spirituality in the African American community influences end-of-life care decisions. In his The Sea of Fertility tetralogy of novels, Japanese novelist Yukio Mishima outlines a philosophy of life and death that bears profoundly transgressive spiritual implications. This compilation discusses how, through his blending of Buddhist notions relating to reincarnation and the insubstantiality of all phenomena, Mishima constructs what amounts to a new spirituality committed to immanence. In the penultimate chapter, the concept of dark spirituality is discussed through what Francois Laruelle calls the "lointain", an unnameable, ineffable "distance" without measure. This concept is then examined through Bonnie ʻPrince' Billy's musical work and how his song, "Black," defines blackness in terms of irreducible alterity. Lastly, while Bhoodan accentuated upon land donation from a resource ownership perspective, Vasudhaiva Kuṭumbakam based land acquisition stresses upon land transfer from the stakeholder concept. Implications for research and practice are discussed in the closing chapter. |
