2007 | 636 Pages | ISBN: 3540738703 | PDF | 14 MB
The Third International Conference on Advanced Data Mining and Applications (ADMA) organized in Harbin, China continued the tradition already established by the first two ADMA conferences in Wuhan in 2005 and Xi'an in 2006. One major goal of ADMA is to create a respectable identity in the data mining research com- nity. This feat has been partially achieved in a very short time despite the young age of the conference, thanks to the rigorous review process insisted upon, the outstanding list of internationally renowned keynote speakers and the excellent program each year. The impact of a conference is measured by the citations the conference papers receive. Some have used this measure to rank conferences. For example, the independent source cs-conference-ranking.org ranks ADMA (0.65) higher than PAKDD (0.64) and PKDD (0.62) as of June 2007, which are well established conferences in data mining. While the ranking itself is questionable because the exact procedure is not disclosed, it is nevertheless an encouraging indicator of recognition for a very young conference such as ADMA.

Adaptive Bidding in Single–Sided Auctions Under Uncertainty An Agent–based Approach in Market Engineering
Free Download Adaptive Bidding in Single-Sided Auctions Under Uncertainty: An Agent-based Approach in Market Engineering By Clemens van Dinther (auth.)
2007 | 238 Pages | ISBN: 3764380942 | PDF | 2 MB
In the last years electronic markets, especially online auctions, have become very popular and received more and more attention in both, business (B2B) as well as in public practice (B2C and C2C). Science, however, is still far from having studied all phenomena and effects which can be observed on electronic markets. This book shows that and how software agents can be used to simulate bidding behaviour in electronic auctions. The main emphasis of this book is to apply computational economics to market theory. It summarizes the most common and up-to-date agent-based simulation methods and tools and develops the simulation software AMASE. On basis of the introduced methods a model is established to simulate bidding behaviour under uncertainty. The book addresses researchers, computer scientists, economists and students who are interested in applying agent-based computational methods to electronic markets. It helps to learn more about simulations in economics in general and common agent-based methods and tools in particular.

2007 | 227 Pages | ISBN: 3540775021 | PDF | 4 MB
This volume contains a collection of the papers presented during the First International ACM-L Workshop, which was held in Tucson, Arizona, during the 25th International Conference on Conceptual Modeling, ER 2006.Included in this state-of-the-art survey are 11 revised full papers, carefully reviewed and selected from the workshop presentations. These are topped off with 4 invited lectures and an introductory and motivational overview.Taken as a whole, these papers cover virtually all of the current thinking in conceptual modeling research. The workshop in question focused on enhancing the fundamental understanding of how to model continual learning from past experiences and how to capture knowledge from transitions between system states.Active conceptual modeling is a continual process of describing all aspects of a domain, its activities, and changes from different perspectives based on our knowledge and understanding.

English | ISBN: 1627221093 | 2014 | 800 pages | EPUB | 77 MB
Injuries involving the spine are the most common compensation claims in the United States. Statistically, problems with the lower back are the second leading cause of missed time from work and one of the leading reasons people visit orthopedic and neurosurgeons. And sprains and strains of the neck are the most frequently reported problem made to insurance companies. Eighty percent of people will suffer from back pain during their lifetime that is unrelated to trauma, and multiple studies demonstrate that these injuries often resolve themselves within three months of the incident it is not hard to understand why injuries to the spine are so controversial and turn on questions of credibility. The problem, however, is much more complicated. No diagnostic test can verify a soft tissue injury, nor can it show a picture of pain. While an MRI can demonstrate a herniated disc and other structural abnormalities, it is difficult to age" the finding, and relating it to an incident of trauma is a matter of opinion and not fact.

Beyond being just fuel for the body, food carries symbolic importance used to define individuals, situations, and places, making it an ideal communication tool. In musical theater, food can be used as a shortcut to tell the audience more about a setting, character, or situation. Because everyone relates to eating, food can also be used to evoke empathy, amusement, or shock from the audience. In some cases, food is central to show's Description.
