Handbook on Architectures of Information Systems
Free Download Handbook on Architectures of Information Systems By Peter Bernus, Günter Schmidt (auth.), Assoc. Professor Dr. Peter Bernus, Professor Dr. Kai Mertins, Professor Dr. Günter Schmidt (eds.)
2006 | 896 Pages | ISBN: 3540254722 | PDF | 15 MB
This book is the first volume of a running series under the title Inter- tional Handbooks on Information Systems. The series is edited by Peter Bernus, Jacek Blazewicz, Günter Schmidt and Mike Shaw. One objective is to give state of the art surveys on selected topics of information systems theory and applications. To this end, a distinguished international group of academics and practitioners are invited to provide a reference source not only for problem solvers in business, industry, and government but also for professional researchers and graduate students. It seemed appropriate to start the series with a volume covering some basic aspects about information systems. The focus of the first volume is therefore architectures. It was decided to have a balanced number of c- tributions from academia and practitioners. The structure of the material follows a differentiation betweeen modelling languages, tools and meth- ologies. These are collected into separate parts, allowing the reader of the handbook a better comparison of the contributions. Information systems are a major component of the entire enterprise and the reader will notice that many contributions could just as easily have been included in another volume of the series which is on enterprise in- gration. Conversely, some traditionally information systems topics, as - ganisational analysis and strategic change management methods, will be treated in more depth in the Handbook on Enterprise Integration. The two volumes will complement each other.

Handbook of Stress and Burnout in Health Care Ed 3
Free Download Jonathon R. B. Halbesleben, "Handbook of Stress and Burnout in Health Care Ed 3"
English | ISBN: 1604565004 | 2008 | 243 pages | PDF | 9 MB
The purpose of this book is to summarise the state of the science in the study of stress and burnout among health care professionals. Moreover, this book seeks to set the agenda for future research in the areas of stress and burnout. Despite the popularity of these topics as subjects for empirical study, particularly among health professionals, there has been no attempt to build a comprehensive summary of the literature concerning stress and burnout in health care. This book fills the void by bringing together leaders in the academic study of stress and burnout and by summarising the research on the measurement of stress and burnout, the unique causes of this condition for health care professionals as well as the consequences of stress and burnout and the patients they serve. It covers evidence-based mechanisms for the prevention and reduction of stress and burnout. Each chapter provides a synthesis of the critical stress and burnout literature as well as ideas for what research is needed to fill current voids in the literature. Final chapter of the book provides a research agenda to promote research concerning this phenomenon in health professions.

Handbook of Early Childhood Education
Free Download Michael F. Shaughnessy, "Handbook of Early Childhood Education "
English | ISBN: 1613241542 | 2011 | 224 pages | PDF | 5 MB
At this time in our nation's history, the establishment of a solid foundation upon which to build a student's educational framework and basic skills is imperative. Teachers, parents, administrators and policy makers are all focusing on test scores, standardised measurement of growth, annual yearly progress and 'value added' issues. While education begins in the home, it is the early educational environment in which children are exposed to licensed certified professionals whose charge is to provide students with exposure to the basics and to identify those with developmental needs, and assist in the intervention process. This book provides an overview of the field of early childhood education as well as ancillary issues that permeate the field.

Handbook of Children and Screens Digital Media, Development, and Well–Being from Birth Through Adolescence
Free Download Handbook of Children and Screens: Digital Media, Development, and Well-Being from Birth Through Adolescence by Dimitri A. Christakis, Lauren Hale
English | January 17, 2025 | ISBN: 3031693612 | 698 pages | PDF | 27 Mb
This open access handbook synthesizes the current research about the impacts of digital media on children across development. Drawing on the expertise of scientists and researchers as well as clinicians and practitioners, the book summarizes research through interdisciplinary expert reviews. First, it addresses the cognitive, physical, mental, and psychosocial impacts on infants, children, and adolescents. Next, the book explores how media influences relationships, family, culture, and society. Finally, it examines the impacts of specific digital domains pertinent to youth, including education technology, video gaming, and emerging technologies. Chapters employ a parallel structure, including background on the topic, summary of the current state of the research, future research directions, and recommendations for relevant stakeholders. The volume examines the timely issue of optimal child development in an increasingly digital age, offering innovative approaches to establish a solid and robust scientific foundation for this field of study as well as evidence-based action for adults who support positive youth development.
