Suh, "Power and Peril: Paul's Use of Temple Discourse in 1 Corinthians " English | ISBN: 3110678845 | 2020 | 287 pages | EPUB | 2 MB This study probes the significance of Paul's statement in 1 Corinthians 3:16 announced to a group of believers in Corinth: "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the spirit of God dwells among you?" The question is framed in the Greek language such that Paul expected an affirmative response (i.e. 'Yes, we know we are the temple of God'), and yet mapping such an idea onto a gathering of people is rather unprecedented in antiquity. By surveying relevant literary texts and material culture from the ancient Mediterranean (roughly 400 BCE―200 CE), the author shows how Paul appropriated the concept of temple in his exhortation to the Corinthians. A few key texts in 1 Corinthians can be read as a cohesive and coherent set of passages that unpack the idea of the Corinthians as "the temple of God." While these passages are not typically read together, this study shows how themes such as power and spirit, traditions from Exodus, divine benefits, and sacrificial foods found in these passages reflect similar concerns observed in temples and other sanctuaries in ancient Greek, Roman, and Jewish contexts. Careful analysis of the religious experience of visitors to temples―an important topic that remains largely ignored in secondary literature―gives greater clarity to the nuances of Paul's temple discourse. As the temple, the Corinthian community not only receives God's power and benefits, but also remains vulnerable to peril posed by insiders and outsiders. ![]() Free Download Power Vacuum Tubes Handbook by Jerry C. Whitaker English | PDF (True) | 1994 | 622 Pages | ISBN : 1468499890 | 49.8 MB The phrase "high technology" is perhaps one of the more overused descriptions in our technical vocabulary. It is a phrase generally reserved for discussion of integrated circuits, fiber optics, satellite systems, and computers. Few people would associate high technology with vacuum tubes. The notion that vacuum tube construction is more art than science may have been true 10 or 20 years ago, but today it's a different story. The demand on the part of industry for tubes capable of higher operating power and frequency, and the economic necessity for tubes that provide greater efficiency and reliability, have moved power tube manufacturers into the high-tech arena. Advancements in tube design and construction have given end users new transmit ters and RF generators that allow industry to grow and prosper. If you bring up the subject of vacuum tubes to someone who has never worked on a transmitter, you are likely to get a blank stare and a question: "Do they make those anymore?" Although receiving tubes have disappeared from the scene, power tubes are alive and well and are performing vital functions in thousands of divergent applications. Solid-state and tube technologies each have their place, each with its strengths and weaknesses. Tube design and development, although accompanied by less fanfare, is advanc ing as are developments in solid-state technology. Power tubes today are designed with an eye toward high operating efficiency and high gain/bandwidth properties. ![]() Free Download Power Transmission by Direct Current by Erich Uhlmann English | PDF | 1975 | 397 Pages | ISBN : 3642660746 | 37.5 MB The direct current transmission scheme linking the island of Gotland to the main land of Sweden by means of a submarine cable under the Baltic Sea is the first commercial realisation of a modern technique for the transmission of electrical energy. It is certainly not accidental that this pioneering initiative was allotted to the Gotland scheme. Various viewpoints may be presented regarding this, but the essential factor relates to the circumstances that permitted the magnitude ofthe transmitted power to be given a value which would not have been technically or economically feasible for any other project. The power, on the one hand, was sufficiently small to justify the risk associated with such a new venture, for it fell within limits acceptable both to ASEA as the manufacturer and to the Swedish State Power Board as the customer. On the other hand, the power was large enough to demonstrate the technical and economic characteristics of the new system and to provide the opportunity of gaining invaluable experience that could be applied to future large-scale transmission systems. In 1954 a team under the direction of Dr. Uno Lamm successfully commissioned the Gotland scheme, representing the culmination of many years of intensive development work. ![]() Free Download Power Transmission and Control in Power and Vehicle Machineries by Yunhua Li, Nariman Sepehri English | 2024 | ISBN: 3725824495 | 328 Pages | PDF | 31 MB ![]() Free Download Faouzi Derbel, "Power Systems & Smart Energies " English | ISBN: 3110591170 | 2020 | 142 pages | PDF | 5 MB The book presents selected, extended and peer reviewed papers from the International Multiconference on System, Automation and Control held Leipzig in 2016. With today's rapid adoption of inverter-based resources and the resulting changes in power system dynamics, this book compares conventional power systems with evolving power systems characterized by high shares of grid-connected and distributed inverter-based resources. It covers dynamic phenomena, analysis methods, simulation tools and enablers required for secure and reliable system planning and operation. ![]() Free Download Power Quality Enhancement Using Custom Power Devices by Arindam Ghosh , Gerard Ledwich English | PDF (True) | 2002 | 474 Pages | ISBN : 1402071809 | 36.6 MB Also addressed are other power electronic devices for improving power quality in Solid State Transfer Switches and Fault Current Limiters. Applications for these technologies as they relate to compensating busses supplied by a weak line and for distributed generation connections in rural networks, are included. In depth treatment of inverters to achieve voltage support, voltage balancing, harmonic suppression and transient suppression in realistic network environments are also covered. New material on the potential for shunt and series compensation which emphasizes the importance of control design has been introduced. ![]() Free Download Power Management of Digital Circuits in Deep Sub-Micron CMOS Technologies by Stephan Henzler English | PDF (True) | 2007 | 197 Pages | ISBN : 1402050801 | 4.5 MB In the deep sub-micron regime, the power consumption has become one of the most important issues for competitive design of digital circuits. Due to dramatically increasing leakage currents, the power consumption does not take advantage of technology scaling as before. State-of-art power reduction techniques like the use of multiple supply and threshold voltages, transistor stack forcing and power gating are discussed with respect to implementation and power saving capability. Focus is given especially on technology dependencies, process variations and technology scaling. Design and implementation issues are discussed with respect to the trade-off between power reduction, performance degradation, and system level constraints. A complete top-down design flow is demonstrated for power gating techniques introducing new design methodologies for the switch sizing task and circuit blocks for data-retention and block activation. The leakage reduction ratio and the minimum power-down time are introduced as figures of merit to describe the power gating technique on system level and give a relation to physical circuit parameters. Power Management of Digital Circuits in Deep Sub-Micron CMOS Technologies mainly deals with circuit design but also addresses the interface between circuit and system level design on the one side and between circuit and physical design on the other side. ![]() Free Download Power: Entailment, status, and social mobility (14th-17th centuries) by Ana Rita Rocha English | 2024 | ISBN: 9789892626659 | 364 Pages | PDF | 2.9 MB |
