Sungtaek Ju , Kenneth E. Goodson English | PDF | 1999 | 115 Pages | ISBN : 0792385918 | 9.9 MB The study of thermal phenomena in microdevices has attracted significant attention recently. The interdisciplinary nature of this topic, however, makes it very difficult for researchers to fully understand details of research results presented in journal articles. For many researchers intending to be active in this field, therefore, a more comprehensive treatment, complete with sufficient background information, is urgently needed. ![]() Free Download Microelectronic Test Structures for CMOS Technology by Manjul Bhushan , Mark B. Ketchen English | PDF (True) | 2011 | 401 Pages | ISBN : 1441993762 | 10.2 MB Microelectronic Test Structures for CMOS Technology and Products addresses the basic concepts of the design of test structures for incorporation within test-vehicles, scribe-lines, and CMOS products. The role of test structures in the development and monitoring of CMOS technologies and products has become ever more important with the increased cost and complexity of development and manufacturing. In this timely volume, IBM scientists Manjul Bhushan and Mark Ketchen emphasize high speed characterization techniques for digital CMOS circuit applications and bridging between circuit performance and characteristics of MOSFETs and other circuit elements. Detailed examples are presented throughout, many of which are equally applicable to other microelectronic technologies as well. The authors' overarching goal is to provide students and technology practitioners alike a practical guide to the disciplined design and use of test structures that give unambiguous information on the parametrics and performance of digital CMOS technology. ![]() Free Download Microeconomics: A Fresh Start by Peter Dorman English | PDF (True) | 2014 | 528 Pages | ISBN : 3642374336 | 5.5 MB The world has changed dramatically in recent years and so has the field of economics, but many introductory economics textbooks have remained stuck in the past. This book provides a new beginning for the study of microeconomics, emphasizing current debates and research trends. It is international in outlook and reflects the shift toward empirical methods, as well as the study of institutions and economic behavior. It is also written to fit in with an approach to teaching based on active learning and critical thinking. Mainstream material is still covered, but within a new context, making it more relevant, realistic and responsive to the deeper questions economists are now asking about theory and policy. Economics as a discipline is viewed from a broad perspective that takes into account new developments at the intersections with psychology, political science, the natural sciences and philosophy. Economics as presented in this text is less sure that it has all the answers, but it is more interesting, application-oriented and open to new ideas. ![]() Free Download Elias Hakalehto, "Microbiology of Food Quality: Challenges in Food Production and Distribution During and After the Pandemics " English | ISBN: 3110724928 | 2021 | 187 pages | EPUB | 5 MB With consumer awareness increasing, the importance of the environmental impact of everyday products such as food becomes a major factor for the customer. Catabolic microbial pathways can be tailored to accumulate cis,cis-muconic acid from a range of aromatic compounds. A renewable, sustainable and under-valued resource for aromatics is lignin. In this work, using hydrothermal conversion, lignin was depolymerized into hydrolysates with up to 615 mM aromatic monomer content. Catechol-rich hydrolysates were generated for bioconversion with the previously developed cis,cis-muconic acid producers P. putida MA-9 and C. glutamicum MA-2, whereas hydrolysates were guaiacol-rich for Amycolatopsis sp. MA-2. When grown with glucose as a co-substrate, C. glutamicum MA-2 yielded 2.6 g L⁻¹ (100 % yield) cis,cis-muconic acid from catechol. Towards an even more sustainable process, glucose was then replaced by hemicellulose, a non-food renewable. Hemicellulose, a co-constituent of lignin in lignocellulose, was hydrothermally converted into a mixture of C₅ and C₆ sugars. As hemicellulose was mainly converted into xylose (91 % yield), C. glutamicum MA-2 was engineered to utilize this pentose. Fed-batch bioconversion on a catechol-rich Kraft lignin hydrolysate as well as a hemicellulose hydrolysate using C. glutamicum MA-4 yielded 4 g L⁻¹ muconic acids. As the developed process was non-competitive to feed and food, it is a promising starting point for future application in bio-based industrial settings. ![]() Free Download Zhenhong Yuan, "Microbial Energy Conversion" English | ISBN: 3110428377 | 2018 | 536 pages | EPUB | 20 MB The book provides an overview on various microorganisms and their industrialization in energy conversion, such as ethanol fermentation, butanol fermentation, biogas fermentation and fossil energy conversion.
