Zucker English | PDF | 1998 | 319 Pages | ISBN : 3540629955 | 79.6 MB The articles in this volume were written to commemorate Reinhold Remmert's 60th birthday in June, 1990. They are surveys, meant to facilitate access to some of the many aspects of the theory of complex manifolds, and demonstrate the interplay between complex analysis and many other branches of mathematics, algebraic geometry, differential topology, representations of Lie groups, and mathematical physics being only the most obvious of these branches. Each of these articles should serve not only to describe the particular circle of ideas in complex analysis with which it deals but also as a guide to the many mathematical ideas related to its theme. ![]() Free Download Complex Manifolds without Potential Theory: with an appendix on the geometry of characteristic classes by Shiing-shen Chern English | PDF | 1979 | 158 Pages | ISBN : 0387904220 | 6.8 MB From the reviews of the second edition: "The new methods of complex manifold theory are very useful tools for investigations in algebraic geometry, complex function theory, differential operators and so on. The differential geometrical methods of this theory were developed essentially under the influence of Professor S.-S. Chern's works. The present book is a second edition... It can serve as an introduction to, and a survey of, this theory and is based on the author's lectures held at the University of California and at a summer seminar of the Canadian Mathematical Congress.... ![]() Free Download Complex Manifolds and Deformation of Complex Structures by Kunihiko Kodaira English | PDF | 1986 | 476 Pages | ISBN : 146138592X | 32.9 MB This book is an introduction to the theory of complex manifolds and their deformations. Deformation of the complex structure of Riemann surfaces is an idea which goes back to Riemann who, in his famous memoir on Abelian functions published in 1857, calculated the number of effective parameters on which the deformation depends. Since the publication of Riemann's memoir, questions concerning the deformation of the complex structure of Riemann surfaces have never lost their interest. The deformation of algebraic surfaces seems to have been considered first by Max Noether in 1888 (M. Noether: Anzahl der Modulen einer Classe algebraischer Fliichen, Sitz. K6niglich. Preuss. Akad. der Wiss. zu Berlin, erster Halbband, 1888, pp. 123-127). However, the deformation of higher dimensional complex manifolds had been curiously neglected for 100 years. In 1957, exactly 100 years after Riemann's memoir, Frolicher and Nijenhuis published a paper in which they studied deformation of higher dimensional complex manifolds by a differential geometric method and obtained an important result. (A. Fr61icher and A. Nijenhuis: A theorem on stability of complex structures, Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci., U.S.A., 43 (1957), 239-241). ![]() Free Download Complex Differential Geometry: Topics in Complex Differential Geometry Function Theory on Noncompact Kähler Manifolds by Shoshichi Kobayashi , Camilla Horst , Hung-Hsi Wu English | PDF | 1983 | 159 Pages | ISBN : 376431494X | 8.8 MB These notes were written by Camilla Horst on the basis of the lectures I gave during the week of June 22-26, 1981 at the DMV Seminar on Complex Differential Geometry in Dusseldorf. My aim was to make the contents of my survey lecture at the DMV annual meeting in 1980 (published in Jahresberichte, 1981) accessible to beginning research students by providing a little more details. I suggest therefore that the Jahresberichte paper be read as an introduction to these notes. ![]() Free Download Lukas König, "Complex Behavior in Evolutionary Robotics " English | ISBN: 3110408546 | 2015 | 262 pages | PDF | 6 MB Today, autonomous robots are used in a rather limited range of applications such as exploration of inaccessible locations, cleaning floors, mowing lawns etc. However, ongoing hardware improvements (and human fantasy) steadily reveal new robotic applications of significantly higher sophistication. For such applications, the crucial bottleneck in the engineering process tends to shift from physical boundaries to controller generation. As an attempt to automatize this process, Evolutionary Robotics has successfully been used to generate robotic controllers of various types. However, a major challenge of the field remains the evolution of truly complex behavior. Furthermore, automatically created controllers often lack analyzability which makes them useless for safety-critical applications. In this book, a simple controller model based on Finite State Machines is proposed which allows a straightforward analysis of evolved behaviors. To increase the model's evolvability, a procedure is introduced which, by adapting the genotype-phenotype mapping at runtime, efficiently traverses both the behavioral search space as well as (recursively) the search space of genotype-phenotype mappings. Furthermore, a data-driven mathematical framework is proposed which can be used to calculate the expected success of evolution in complex environments. |
