Diese Ergebnisse werden erläutert und in einen allgemeinen Zusammenhang gestellt. Hierbei zeigt sich, dass sich der Gedanke der Komplementarität zu einem allgemeinen erkenntnistheoretischen Grundsatz entwickeln lässt, der auch für die Rechtswissenschaft Bedeutung gewinnt. So können rechtliche Begriffe als Ganzheiten, die in spezifische Teilaspekte zerfallen, gedeutet werden. Dementsprechend werden in der Arbeit die wesentlichen Merkmale des Rechts einer solchen komplementären Betrachtung unterzogen. Zu diesen Merkmalen zählt der Verfasser neben dem relationalen und dem verbindlichen Charakter des Rechts u. a. auch den Begriff der Gerechtigkeit, dessen einzelne komplementäre Teilaspekte dargestellt werden. Dabei sind Teilaspekte einander grundsätzlich gleichwertig. Gerechtigkeit ist damit ein ganzheitlicher Begriff, der nur durch einen Pluralismus, der die absolute Richtigkeit einer einzigen Auffassung ausschließt, angemessen erfasst werden kann.
