![]() Free Download Pascal Birnstill, "Privacy-Respecting Smart Video Surveillance Based on Usage Control Enforcement" English | ISBN: 373150538X | 2016 | 270 pages | PDF | 8 MB This research introduces a conceptual framework for enforcing privacy-related restrictions in smart video surveillance systems based on danger levels and incident types to be handled. It increases the selectivity of surveillance by restricting data processing to individuals associated to incidents under investigation. Constraints are enforced by usage control, which is instantiated for video surveillance for the first time and enables tailoring such systems to comply with data protection law. ![]() Free Download Richard D. McKirahan Jr. Jr., "Principles and Proofs: Aristotle's Theory of Demonstrative Science " English | ISBN: 0691603251 | 2017 | 354 pages | PDF | 14 MB By a thorough study of the Posterior Analytics and related Aristotelian texts, Richard McKirahan reconstructs Aristotle's theory of episteme-science. The Posterior Analytics contains the first extensive treatment of the nature and structure of science in the history of philosophy, and McKirahan's aim is to interpret it sympathetically, following the lead of the text, rather than imposing contemporary frameworks on it. In addition to treating the theory as a whole, the author uses textual and philological as well as philosophical material to interpret many important but difficult individual passages. A number of issues left obscure by the Aristotelian material are settled by reference to Euclid's geometrical practice in the Elements. To justify this use of Euclid, McKirahan makes a comparative analysis of fundamental features of Euclidian geometry with the corresponding elements of Aristotle's theory. Emerging from that discussion is a more precise and more complex picture of the relation between Aristotle's theory and Greek mathematics-a picture of mutual, rather than one-way, dependence. ![]() Free Download Fred I. The cold-war division, the failed socialist state, the '68 student movement, and the Red Army Faction - historical flashpoints involving political oppression, civil disobedience, and the longing for utopian solutions to social injustice - have come to be seen as decisive moments in a collective history that unites East and West even as it divides them. Telling stories about a shared past, establishing foundational myths, and finding commonalities of experience are pivotal steps in the construction of national identity. Such nation-building is always incomplete, but the cinema provides an important forum in which notions of German history and national identity can be consumed, negotiated, and contested. ![]() Free Download Polycrisis and Economic Development in the Global South by Hebatallah Adam and Ravinder Rena English | 2025 | ISBN: 1032694327 | 306 Pages | PDF | 6.58 MB ![]() Free Download Politics, Economy, and Society in Twentieth-Century Nigeria By Ayodeji Olukoju, Tokunbo A. Ayoola (eds.) 2023 | 346 Pages | ISBN: 1666929964 | EPUB | 1 MB Politics, Economy, and Society in Twentieth-Century Nigeria, by Ayodeji Olukoju and Tokunbo A. Ayoola, examines key social, political, and economic issues in Nigeria since the colonial period. This book brings together writings on colonial, postcolonial, and contemporary history of Nigeria that provide a panoramic view of diversity, bridge gaps in Nigerian history, and engage with pioneering scholarship in railway and social history in Nigeria by James Olawale Oyemakinde. Some of the themes and perspectives discussed throughout this collection include: contemporary challenges of poverty, unemployment, leadership and governance deficit, entrepreneurship, urbanization, and the underdevelopment of the agricultural and transport systems. Politics, Economy, and Society in Twentieth-Century Nigeria demonstrates that understanding the past helps to develop appropriate policies for contemporary challenges. As highlighted in this volume, it is important to appreciate the significance of context in historical explanation and in the application and adaptation of ideas across space and time. |
