Nicht erst durch die Philosophie, so lautet die klare Antwort, kommt der Mensch zur Religion. Die Philosophie setzt vielmehr den Besitz der Religion aufgrund des natürlichen Wahrheitssinns voraus, um ihren Begriff wissenschaftlich nachkonstruieren zu können.Diesen natürlichen, dem gegenwärtigen Zeitalter allerdings besonders verstellten Wahrheitssinn sucht Fichte in seinem populären Vortrag zu wecken bzw. zu größerer Deutlichkeit zu führen.
