Kushlan, "Dry Tortugas National Park " English | ISBN: 1467104213 | 2019 | 128 pages | EPUB | 54 MB Isolated 70 miles west of Key West, the islands of Dry Tortugas National Park appear to arise as if by magic, floating atop the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Discovered by Juan Ponce de León over 500 years ago, Tortugas is North America's second-oldest persistent place name. The adjacent Florida Strait provided essential passageway for navies, ships of commerce, pirates, and privateers. Its reefs claimed hundreds of ships over the centuries. The nation's largest masonry fort, Fort Jefferson, secured Union control of the Florida Strait during the Civil War and served as the infamous prison for Dr. Samuel Mudd and other convicted Lincoln conspirators. Its waters, coral reefs, and aquatic life remain among the most biologically intact in North America. Seabird species nest here that nest nowhere else on the continent. The Tortugas has attracted generations of naturalists, scientists, fishermen, divers, birders, and other visitors. The islands and waters of the Dry Tortugas remain today remote, historic, and biologically pristine. ![]() Free Download Ruchika Garg, "Drugs in Obstetrics and Gynecology A Practical Approach, Part II, Gynecology" English | ASIN : B0DQK34H23 | 2024 | 220 pages | PDF | 20 MB Salient features of the book- : ![]() Free Download Ruchika Garg, "Drugs in Obstetrics and Gynecology A Practical Approach, Part I, Obstetrics" English | ASIN : B0DQJWP6BX | 2024 | 265 pages | PDF | 16 MB Salient features of the book- : ![]() Free Download Drug Repurposing and Repositioning: Workshop Summary By Institute of Medicine; Board on Health Sciences Policy; Roundtable on Translating Genomic-Based Research for Health; Adam C. Berger; Steve Olson; Samuel G. Johnson; Sarah H. Beachy 2014 | 119 Pages | ISBN: 0309302048 | EPUB | 1 MB Drug development can be time-consuming and expensive. Recent estimates suggest that, on average, it takes 10 years and at least $1 billion to bring a drug to market. Given the time and expense of developing drugs de novo, pharmaceutical companies have become increasingly interested in finding new uses for existing drugs - a process referred to as drug repurposing or repositioning. Historically, drug repurposing has been largely an unintentional, serendipitous process that took place when a drug was found to have an offtarget effect or a previously unrecognized on-target effect that could be used for identifying a new indication. Perhaps the most recognizable example of such a successful repositioning effort is sildenafil. Originally developed as an anti-hypertensive, sildenafil, marketed as Viagra and under other trade names, has been repurposed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension. Viagra generated more than $2 billion worldwide in 2012 and has recently been studied for the treatment of heart failure. Given the widespread interest in drug repurposing, the Roundtable on Translating Genomic-Based Research for Health of the Institute of Medicine hosted a workshop on June 24, 2013, in Washington, DC, to assess the current landscape of drug repurposing activities in industry, academia, and government. Stakeholders, including government officials, pharmaceutical company representatives, academic researchers, regulators, funders, and patients, were invited to present their perspectives and to participate in workshop discussions. "Drug Repurposing and Repositioning" is the summary of that workshop. This report examines enabling tools and technology for drug repurposing; evaluates the business models and economic incentives for pursuing a repurposing approach; and discusses how genomic and genetic research could be positioned to better enable a drug repurposing paradigm. ![]() Free Download Drone Development from Concept to Flight: Design, assemble, and discover the applications of unmanned aerial vehicles by Sumit Sharma English | April 30, 2024 | ISBN: 1837633002 | 316 pages | MOBI | 16 Mb Learn and apply the principles behind building and flying drones using components like BLDC motors and speed controllers, AeroGCS ground software, Ardupilot and PX4 open-source flight stacksalong with examples and best practices ![]() Free Download Dressed Photons to Revolutionize Modern Physics: Exploring Longitudinal Electromagnetic Waves and Off-Shell Quantum Fields English | 2025 | ISBN: 3031779436 | 129 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 18 MB ![]() Free Download Drawing Manga: A Graphic Novel on How to Create Your Own Manga by Eliott Lerner English | April 30, 2024 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B0D33DBVHF | 99 pages | EPUB | 13 Mb The fun way to learn how to create exciting manga comics! All beginning mangaka (manga creators) face the same difficulties: how to create the drawings, convey perspective, depict the body, hands, and face, and how to compose a compelling story. Hayes, "Doubling and Duplicating in the Book of Genesis: Literary and Stylistic Approaches to the Text" English | ISBN: 1575064545 | 2016 | 224 pages | PDF | 6 MB The style of the Hebrew Bible has long been of significant interest to scholars and exegetes alike. Early Jewish and later Christian commentaries point out the importance of the exact wording in interpreting the text, and many an article has been written on features such as repetition and inclusio. With the rise of literary and narrative criticism in biblical studies, these features have received even more attention. The current book stands in the tradition of Robert Alter in that it focuses on how the text of Genesis is written and phrased. More explicitly, it is interested in why Genesis is formulated the way it is and how this affects the reader in his/her encounter with the text. Doubling and Duplicating is not only concerned with a style-as-analysis frame for interpreters but also with its role as a guide for any audience and its gateway to the ancient mind-set (ideological, ontological, and so on). |
