![]() Free Download Aristophanes, Ian Crowe, "Birds" English | 2008 | pages: 108 | ISBN: 0981816223 | PDF | 0,8 mb The Birds has long been hailed as one of the finest masterpieces written by Aristophanes (ca. 456 BC ca. 386 BC), the greatest of all classical Athenian comic dramatists. First performed in 414 BC, at the height of the Peloponnesian War, which pitted Athens against Sparta, the play celebrates the extraordinary character of Athens in a manner that is at once robust, lyrical, satiric, and full of ironic resonance. In the play, two Athenians, Pisthetairos and Euelpides, seek to escape the aggressively quarrelsome climate of Athens by hiking up into the mountains to seek advice from the birds about where they might find a more peaceful place to live, a city where they can relax and enjoy life. But once they begin interacting with the birds, the Athenians cannot resist persuading the creatures to organize themselves into a city state, so that they can exert pressure on the gods above and men below in order to gain power over them (for example, by controlling the gods access to human beings). The impromptu scheme escalates, and by the end of the play, Pisthetairos has supplanted the gods and now rules everything, an occasion which they all celebrate by eating a meal of cooked birds. Much of the play is taken up with the bawdy, energetic, and inventive comedy familiar to readers of Aristophanes. But underlying the humour is an ironic exploration of the Athenian character, which is far too restless and acquisitive, far too in love with ambitious scheming and, above all, with language itself, so that it cannot resist taking control of each and every situation. ![]() Free Download Bionics and Sustainable Design by Felipe Luis Palombini English | EPUB | 2022 | 401 Pages | ISBN : 9811918112 | 120.7 MB This book includes both theoretical conceptualization and practical applications in the fields of product design, architecture, engineering, and materials. The book aimed to inspire scholars and professionals to look at nature as a source of inspiration for developing new project solutions. Moreover, being one of the literature's first direct associations of bionics with sustainability, the book can be used as a reference for those who seek to know more about the theory of bioinspired applications, as well as new technologies, methods, materials, and processes. ![]() Free Download Chryssostomos Chatgilialoglu, "Biomimetic Radical Chemistry and Applications 2021" English | 2022 | ISBN: 3036543503 | PDF | pages: 243 | 11.5 mb The high importance of free radical chemistry for a variety of biological events, including ageing and inflammation, has attracted considerable interest in understanding the related mechanistic steps at the molecular level. Modelling the free radical chemical reactivity of biological systems is an important research area. When studying free-radical-based chemical mechanisms, biomimetic chemistry and the design of established biomimetic models come into play to perform experiments in a controlled environment, suitably designed to be a similar as possible to cellular conditions. ![]() Free Download Bioinspired Multifunctional Nanomaterials for Ionic Artificial Muscles English | 2025 | ISBN: 3031788125 | 117 Pages | PDF (True) | 44 MB This book presents the development of four multifunctional nanomaterials: two electrolyte membranes with high ionic conductivity and robust mechanical strength and two electrode materials with excellent electrical conductivity and high capacitance. The integration of these materials has led to a substantial improvement in the performance of ionic actuators, enabling their application in four demonstrative models: soft fingers, inchworms, dynamic tensegrity structures, and dragonflies. Therefore, this multidisciplinary book is highly relevant to a wide range of scientific fields, including materials science, ionic actuators, soft robotics, bioinspiration, and biomimetics, as well as energy storage systems such as batteries, capacitors, and fuel cells. ![]() Free Download Bio/CMOS Interfaces and Co-Design, Second Edition by Sandro Carrara English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2023 (2024 Edition) | 530 Pages | ISBN : 3031318315 | 125.4 MB This textbook demonstrates new paradigms for the interface between CMOS circuits and the biological world. A deep theoretical description of such an interface is defined and discussed, while various real applications are demonstrated by also discussing several analog CMOS circuits. Electrochemical techniques are proposed in detail to learn how to design integrated biosensors. Biological materials are described to provide devices selectivity. Nanoscale materials are discussed to provide device sensitivity. CMOS circuits are analyzed to provide real applications. Extensive examples with solutions are provided, as well as exercises at the end of each chapter. ![]() Free Download Bilingualism and Social Relations: Turkish Speakers in North West Europe By J Normann Jørgensen (editor) 2003 | 152 Pages | ISBN: 185359752X | PDF | 1 MB This book examines the multilingual practices of Turkish-speaking adolescents in North Western Europe.
