Complexity, Organizations and Change An Essential Introduction
Free Download Elizabeth McMillan, "Complexity, Organizations and Change: An Essential Introduction"
English | 2003 | pages: 206 | ISBN: 041531447X | PDF | 1,2 mb
Complexity science has seriously challenged long-held views in the scientific community about how the world works. These ideas, particularly about the living world, also have radical and profound implications for organizations and society as a whole. Available in paperback for the first time, this insightful book describes and considers ideas from complexity science and examines their use in organizations, especially in bringing about major organizational change. Author McMillan explores how organizations, their design, the way they operate and, importantly, the people who co-create them, are thought of.

Complex Analysis A Functional Analytic Approach (De Gruyter Textbook)
Free Download Complex Analysis: A Functional Analytic Approach (De Gruyter Textbook) by Friedrich Haslinger
English | November 23, 2017 | ISBN: 3110417235 | MOBI | 2.54 Mb
In this textbook, a concise approach to complex analysis of one and several variables is presented. After an introduction of Cauchy's integral theorem general versions of Runge's approximation theorem and Mittag-Leffler's theorem are discussed. The fi rst part ends with an analytic characterization of simply connected domains. The second part is concerned with functional analytic methods: Fréchet and Hilbert spaces of holomorphic functions, the Bergman kernel, and unbounded operators on Hilbert spaces to tackle the theory of several variables, in particular the inhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann equations and the d-bar Neumann operator.

Comparative Studies in Modern European History Nation, Nationalism, Social Change
Free Download Comparative Studies in Modern European History: Nation, Nationalism, Social Change By Miroslav Hroch
2023 | 336 Pages | ISBN: 1000951561 | EPUB | 1 MB
The two main themes of this selection of articles by Professor Hroch are the process of nation formation during the 19th century, especially in the case of 'smaller' European nations, i.e. those without statehood, and the social and political aspects of the transition from a pre-modern, feudal and traditional society to a modern capitalist one and the uneven pace of this change in the West and East of Europe. The author argues that we cannot study the process of nation-formation as a mere product of some nebulous 'nationalism'; we have to understand it as a part of social and cultural transformation, as a component of modernization of European societies, even though this modernization did not occur synchronically and had its regional specificities. Many of the papers focus specifically on the Czech case, but throughout there is an emphasis on comparative history.

Communities of Saint Martin Legend and Ritual in Medieval Tours
Free Download Sharon Farmer, "Communities of Saint Martin: Legend and Ritual in Medieval Tours"
English | ISBN: 1501740598 | 2019 | 378 pages | PDF | 30 MB
Sharon Farmer here investigates the ways in which three medieval communities―the town of Tours, the basilica of Saint-Martin there, and the abbey of Marmoutier nearby―all defined themselves through the cult of Saint Martin. She demonstrates how in the early Middle Ages the bishops of Tours used the cult of Martin, their fourthcentury predecessor, to shape an idealized image of Tours as Martin's town. As the heirs to Martin's see, the bishops projected themselves as the rightful leaders of the community. However, in the late eleventh century, she shows, the canons of Saint-Martin (where the saint's relics resided) and the monks of Marmoutier (which Martin had founded) took control of the cult and produced new legends and rituals to strengthen their corporate interests.
