![]() Free Download Perspectives on Strategic Risk Management By Torben Juul Andersen 2006 | 205 Pages | ISBN: 8763001837 | PDF | 1 MB "Operating across international markets is a highly turbulent affair that imposes real challenges on corporate risk management capabilities. The multinational corporation is exposed to many diverse risks and exogenous influences beyond managerial control but also attain new strategic opportunities. The exposures range from price volatilities, changing macroeconomic conditions, and operational disruptions to technological innovations, competitive moves, and socio-political events. Strategic risk management can reduce the adverse effects from these exposures but may also furnish gains from new opportunities. This book relates to the need for effective strategic risk management practices that facilitate the ability to monitor essential exposures and respond appropriately to changing environmental conditions. " ![]() Free Download Perspectives on Dialogue: Making Talk Developmental for Individuals and Organizations : Making Talk Developmental for Individuals and Organizations By Nancy M. Dixon 1996 | 58 Pages | ISBN: 188219716X | PDF | 1 MB There is a growing sense today that organizations and the people that make them up are, to repeat a figure of speech recently used by Robert Kegan, in over their heads. As diversity becomes the rule and change the sole constant, complexity is increasing. It is generally agreed that the only effective response to this complexity is development: both at the individual and organizational level. One frequently practiced but imperfectly understood developmental activity is talk. This paper looks at the relationship between talk and development in organizations, noting the ways that developmental talk--or, as it is often referred to, dialogue--differs from the skilled talk that goes on all the time. It also summarizes five views on dialogue as offered by leading theorists, offers a series of practical observations based on these views, and presents some examples of how dialogue has been incorporated into the work processes of organizations. ![]() Free Download Perspectives in Bioethics, Science, and Public Policy By Jonathan Beever; Nicolae Morar 2013 | 174 Pages | ISBN: 1557536422 | EPUB | 1 MB In this book, nine thought-leaders engage with some of the hottest moral issues in science and ethics. Based on talks originally given at the annual "Purdue Lectures in Ethics, Policy, and Science," the chapters explore interconnections between the three areas in an engaging and accessible way. Addressing a mixed public audience, the authors go beyond dry theory to explore some of the difficult moral questions that face scientists and policy-makers every day. The introduction presents a theoretical framework for the book, defining the term "bioethics" as extending well beyond human well-being to wider relations between humans, nonhuman animals, the environment, and biotechnologies. Three sections then explore the complex relationship between moral value, scientific knowledge, and policy making. The first section starts with thoughts on nonhuman animal pain and moves to a discussion of animal understanding. The second section explores climate change and the impact of "green" nanotechnology on environmental concerns. The final section begins with dialog about ethical issues in nanotechnology, moves to an exploration of bio-banks (a technology with broad potential medical and environmental impact), and ends with a survey of the impact of biotechnologies on (synthetic) life itself. Contents: Part 1: Animals: Moral agency, moral considerability, and consciousness (Daniel Kelly) and From minds to minding (Mark Bernstein); Animal Pain: What is it and why does it matter? (Bernard Rollin). Part 2: Environment: The future of environmental ethics (Holmes Rolston III); Climate change, human rights, and the trillionth ton of carbon (Henry Shue); Ethics, environment, and nanotechnology (Barbara Karn). Part 3: Biotechnologies: Nanotechnologies: Science and society (James Leary); Ethical issues in constructing and using bio-banks (Eric Meslin); Synthetic life: A new industrial revolution (Gregory Kaebnick). ![]() Free Download Personalization in Marketing: Engage Customers Like Never Before by Arun Sharma English | February 5, 2025 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B0DW9FPWBZ | 177 pages | EPUB | 1.27 Mb In today's fast-paced digital world, personalization in marketing has become a game-changer for businesses looking to enhance customer engagement, build stronger relationships, and drive higher conversions. The manuscript is divided into three parts: the first two are devoted to the study of the aforementioned mathematical objects and the implementation of the model. More precisely, the notion of DFT introduced by Lewin is generalized to the case of dimension two, by making explicit the passage of a musical bar from a piece to a subset of Z/tZxZ/pZ, which leads naturally to a notion of metric on the set of musical bars by their Fourier coefficients. This construction gives rise to a point cloud, to which the filtered Vietoris-Rips complex is associated, and consequently a family of barcodes given by persistent homology. This approach also makes it possible to generalize classical results such as Lewin's lemma and Babitt's Hexachord theorem. The last part of this book is devoted to musical applications of the model: the first experiment consists in extracting barcodes from artificially constructed scores, such as scales or chords. This study leads naturally to song harmonization process, which reduces a song to its melody and chord grid, thus defining the notions of graph and complexity of a piece. Persistent homology also lends itself to the problem of automatic classification of musical style, which will be treated here under the prism of symbolic descriptors given by statistics calculated directly on barcodes. Finally, the last application proposes a encoding of musical bars based on the Hausdorff distance, which leads to the study of musical textures. ![]() Free Download Perioperative Pediatric Patient Blood Management and Transfusion Safety: A Case-Based Review English | 2025 | ISBN: 303181665X | 1016 Pages | PDF EPUB (True) | 23 MB Divided into three sections covering all phases of perioperative care, each chapter consists of a stem question, followed by an analysis of the issue, then a discussion of the current evidence in the literature. Rather than being a transfusion-related book written by pathologists and laboratory specialists, chapters are authored by highly specialized clinicians who will write from first-hand experience in addition to an exploration of the current literature. The book features management summaries of topics with scant or only recently available evidence and offers novel content and format in the pediatric patient literature. ![]() Free Download Performance Reviews - Phrases You Can Use: Easily create effective performance appraisals with 1,650 helpful feedback phrases that save you time! by Morgan West English | December 17, 2024 | ISBN: 899148560X | 128 pages | EPUB | 0.79 Mb Whether you are new to supervisory management, or an experienced personnel manager, you will quickly see how performance appraisals can be created to help motivate people, and use the 1,650 phrases in this book to make the task of giving effective feedback easier and save you time. ![]() Free Download Perfect Victims: And the Politics of Appeal by Mohammed El-Kurd English | February 11, 2025 | ISBN: 888890316X | 219 pages | EPUB | 2.58 Mb NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER ![]() Free Download People vs. AI: The Radical Business Case for Artificial Intelligence Adoption by James Karanja Maina English | December 13, 2024 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B0DPN1YHFW | 138 pages | EPUB | 1.93 Mb What happens when an AI agent takes over your Job?
