Pasquariello Mariano, "Liquid Regionalism in the Americas: An Analysis of Contemporary Regional Developments " English | ISBN: 3031837983 | 2025 | 165 pages | EPUB | 455 KB This book develops a comprehensive analysis of contemporary regionalism in the Americas, which the authors characterise as Liquid Regionalism, given its unstable, flexible and loose characteristics. It innovates by introducing a new concept to assess regional initiatives in the American continents, contributing to Latin American and comparative regionalism research agendas. The book analyses major regional projects in the Americas and develops these into a novel typology of consultation, cooperation and integration. This typology helps explain the level of commitments and institutional depth of regional initiatives across the continent. The book is for scholars, postgraduate and undergraduate students interested in the regional and political dynamics of the Americas across the social sciences, including international relations, political science, sociology, international political economy, international trade, and history. ![]() Free Download Lippincott Nursing Procedures by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins English | September 10, 2022 | ISBN: 1975178580 | 936 pages | MOBI | 183 Mb Selected as a Doody's Essential Title for 2025! ![]() Free Download Wen Xu, "Linguistic Entrepreneurship in Sino-African Student Mobility" English | ISBN: 9819721741 | 2024 | 242 pages | EPUB | 450 KB This book explores African international students' lived experience within Chinese higher education, including their language ideologies, investment in Chinese language learning and the (re)shaping of identities and aspirations. Whilst high English proficiency has been sought by globally mobile students to play the 'class game' and gain entrée to the circle of elites, considerably less attention has been paid to how shifting global structures and China's semi-peripheral position shape its language learners' investment and identity construction. Drawing upon a series of interviews, the book deciphers African students' logics of linguistic exchanges within the geopolitical and geo-economic context of China-African relations. The students invested heavily into Chinese language learning and use, while displaying perfectionism, linguistic entrepreneurship and linguistic insecurity. As the value of their Chinese linguistic capital increases, they reassessed their sense of themselves and produced different social identities, which includes the idea of 'the world is my oyster', contributing to Africa's sustainable development and the disposition to 'tell China's story well'. This work transgresses monolingual dominance (i.e. English) in the existing body of international student mobility and second language acquisition (SLA) research, as great importance is assigned to Chinese as linguistic capital in South-South student migration. The book is of interest to researchers in international higher education, international student mobilities, sociolinguistics, applied linguistics, languages education, and Chinese language teaching and learning. ![]() Free Download Linear and Nonlinear Optical Spectroscopy and Microscopy by Mengtao Sun, Xijiao Mu English | 2024 | ISBN: 9819936365 | 130 Pages | True ePUB | 29 MB ![]() Free Download Tihomir Žiljak, "Lifelong Learning for Green Skills and Sustainable Development: Southern European Perspectives" English | ISBN: 3031669460 | 2024 | 182 pages | EPUB | 1402 KB This edited book analyses the implementation of green transformation policies and the UN Sustainable Development Goals across the European Union, in the context of lifelong learning and educational practices. This book makes some new conclusions about Arendt's theory by emphasizing how her experience of the world as displayed in her archival materials impacted her thought. Some aspects of Arendt's life have been examined in detail before, including the fact she was stateless as well as her affair with Heidegger. Instead, this work explores different topics including the biographical and narrative moments of Arendt's own work, the role of archiving in her thought, pivotal events that have not been archived, her understanding of her own identities, and how it affected the role of identity politics in her work. Typically, group action is underemphasized in Arendt scholarship in comparison to individual action and often identity politics questions are considered to lie within the realm of the private. AlthoughArendt's theory is problematic when discussing issues concerning identity politics, she did think identity politics could be public and political and that effective political actions may occur within groups. What makes this project unique are the innovative conclusions made by moving the archival and biographical evidence to the center in order to understand her theory more accurately and within its historical and cultural context. This volume will be of interest to professional scholars in Arendt's work, but also to those who have a more general interest in her life and theory. |
